Automatic control device for switching on electrical machines. For the automatic activation of elec tric machines, for example for the automatic parallel connection of AC machines, control devices have been built that BEZW the voltage equality and phase match of the networks to be connected in parallel. Check machines. The voltages of the machines are regulated until these two conditions are met, whereupon the automatic switch-on takes place.
With the expansion of larger distribution networks, an automatic substation has recently been added to the network, which is equipped with generators that can be automatically connected to the network via a control device. If support of the main plant feeding the network is desired, then only the switch-on command needs to be given to the substation, whose machines are now connected to the network by the automatic control device after start-up.
The automatic control device according to the invention for switching on electrical machines is now provided with a voltage testing device which closes its contacts for switching the controlled machine to the network when the voltage of the network is approximately equal to a normal value, and also when if the differential voltage between the mains voltage and the normal voltage value exceeds a certain value.
By using such a control device, it is possible to avoid difficulties that can occur in the operating example described above that the main plant fails during the switch-on command for the substation, for example due to a malfunction in its machines for the power supply. The mains voltage now drops, however, it can even be zero; Instead of the supply of the network by the substation now being ensured, the activation of the substation is made impossible when using the control devices that have been customary up to now, since these can only be activated when the voltages are equal.
The control device built according to the invention, in contrast, switches the machines of the substation to the network that has become dead.
The device according to the invention can also be used for direct current networks with voltage regulation, in which, apart from the phase match, the same operating conditions exist as in alternating current power plants.
The voltage testing device is expediently designed in such a way that, under certain conditions, it makes devices that test the exact voltage and phase correspondence ineffective. On the one hand, it must also be able to respond to relatively low voltages in the network, since it is supposed to determine whether the difference between the network voltage and a normal voltage value exceeds a certain value, ie the network voltage is below a certain value. On the other hand, the voltage testing device must also be able to withstand those operating voltages, which are the norm when the network is in order, without damage.
Both of these conditions are best met by using a voltage testing device with a gradually reduced response voltage by itself.
A voltage testing device that is suitable for the control device according to the invention is shown in the figure, for example. The switch coupling the machine and the network is not shown in the figure, since it can be designed in the usual known manner. The mains voltage 16 is fed to the voltage test relay 1 via a switch 2.
In the circuit of the voltage test relay there is also the resistor 3, which can be gradually switched off by the sliding contacts 4, 5 and 6 to reduce the response voltage of the voltage test relay. The contact arm 7, which is moved by the auxiliary motor 8 via the gear 9, can slide over the contacts 4, 5 and 6. The motor 8 is connected to the auxiliary voltage 13 through the contacts 10 of the voltage test relay 1 and the contacts 11 of the command relay 12.
Simultaneously with the synchronization process, which has already been used up to now, or expediently beforehand, the \? the command relay 12 via the contact arm 7 and the auxiliary contacts 14 voltage. The relay 12 closes via its con tact arm 15 a holding circuit. At the same time, the command relay forwards the DC voltage to the contacts of voltage test relay 1.
If the voltage 16 brought up to the switch 2 has the full level, the voltage relay 1 picks up its contacts and applies voltage to the switching motor 8. The switching motor, the excitation of which was switched on by contact 11 on relay 12, now rotates contact arm 7 to the left until it bridges contacts 17 and 18 and via these contacts a switching command for the switch, not shown in the figure, to connect the machine the network.
If the voltage on the lines 16 is less than the normal value, the relay 1 remains hanging. The contacts 10 apply the voltage to the armature of the motor 6 in the opposite direction when the value falls below the normal value by a certain amount. The motor then moves the contact arm 7 to the right. The contact arm gradually switches off resistance from the actuation circuit of the voltage test relay through the contacts 6. If there is still enough voltage at the terminals 16 that the voltage test relay can lift the armature when the series resistor is partially switched off, the contacts 10 switch the motor 8 off again.
If there is no or very little voltage at all at the terminals 16, the contact arm 7 moves to the right end position, in which it bridges the contacts 18 and 29 and thereby issues a switching command that sets the Ge used to determine the phase equality devices ineffective, whereupon the network is connected to the machine.
In the end positions given by the contacts 17 and 29, the Mo tor S switches off automatically by limit switches 20 and 21. With each new switching command, the contact arm 7 must be in the middle position so that the voltage test relay 1 is set to the lowest sensitivity.
This is achieved by the cam 22 controlled by the motor 8, which acts on cam switches 28 and 24. When the command relay 12 drops out, the motor 8 is controlled by its contacts 11 via the cam holder 23 or. 24 in each case applied voltage so that it moves the contact arm 7 back into the central position. A new switching command can only be executed when the contact arm 7 has bridged the contacts 14 again, so the voltage testing device is ready for the switching command.
