Device to keep the variable reactance constant, especially of excitation circuits. In the case of three-phase current control sets that work with permanently excited rear machines, the regulation process is complicated by the fact that the reactance of the excitation winding of the rear machine is not constant, but changes proportionally to the slip frequency. As a result, the excitation voltage must be regulated in terms of size and phase according to complex laws that require a complicated regulating apparatus.
The attempt was made to counteract this difficulty by connecting resistors or other devices that consume real power or even choke coils in the primary circuit of the feeding period converter, the real resistance or constant reactance of which outweighs the variable elasticity of the field winding many times over. It has also been proposed to remove the reactance of the excitation winding by inserting suitable back EMFs. According to the invention, a variable reactance is inserted into the excitation circuit, which supplements the variable reactance of the excitation winding to a constant amount.
For example, if the reactance of the excitation winding fluctuates between the values 0 and 0.4 ohms, the additional reactance is regulated between 0.6 and 0.2 ohms, for example, so that a constant stretching dance of 0.6 ohms results. Since the excitation reactance is proportional to the number of slip periods, the additional reactance is also a linear function of the slip frequency. The speed control component of the excitation voltage is also a linear function of the slip frequency, since the reactance is kept constant by the present invention.
The two regulating organs to be operated, the regulating transformer and the regulating throttle can therefore be coupled to one another in the simplest possible way. A choke coil with a changeable air gap or a so-called rotary throttle, i.e. a braked three-phase motor whose stator and rotor are connected in series and can be rotated against each other, can be used as the variable reactance.
Fig. 1 shows, for example, the basic circuit diagram of the new facility in application to rule sets.
1 is the main motor to be regulated, 2 is the Scherbius rear machine, 3 is its loading machine, 4 is the period converter that feeds the excitation winding of 2. In the primary circuit of 4 is the regulable choke coil 5, the double rotary transformer 6 and the transformer 7. 7 delivers a constant voltage, which, because the reactance. of the excitation circuit of 2 is constant, also results in a constant current. By setting the brushes of 4 once, this current is given the phase position necessary to compensate for the main motor.
The component necessary to regulate the speed of the excitation current requires a voltage whose phase is determined by a one-time setting of the primary part of the rotary throttle transformer 6 and whose size is regulated by rotating the secondary part of 6. 5 is an adjustable throttle coil serving to keep the reactance of the excitation circuit of 2 constant; it can be coupled with 6, as indicated schematically in the drawing. It is of course not necessary to couple 5 and 6; the setting of 5 can, for example, also take place automatically depending on the number of slip periods or the speed of the main motor.
For the independent control of the Dros selspule 5 depending on the speed of the main engine 1, a centrifugal pendulum coupled to the main engine can be used, for example. Each speed of the main motor corresponds to a certain position of the flyballs. This forces a certain position of the choke coil 5, expediently via an intermediate element, for example an oil pressure regulator.
The speed of the main motor now only clearly determines the slip frequency when the mains frequency is constant. With strongly fluctuating network frequency you will therefore let the centrifugal pendulum rotate at a speed corresponding to the Schlupffre frequency, for example by means of a differential gear that is driven by a synchronous motor hanging on the network and the shaft of the front motor 1.
