Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung eines neuen Thiophenolderivates. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen Thiophenolderivat gelangen kann, "wenn man Resorcin mit Chromacetat in Gegenwart von Natriumhydroxyd und Schwefel erhitzt.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 55 Teile Resorcin, 20 Teile Natriumhydro- xyd, 30 Teile Schwefel, 15 Teile Chromacetat (26% Cr2Us) Lind 15 Teile Wasser werden 40 Stunden lang auf 1200 erhitzt, die erhaltene Schmelze im Vakuum eingetrocknet und ge mahlen.
Das so erhaltene dunkelbraune Pulver ist in Wasser und Aetbylalkohol mit rotbrauner Farbe leicht löslich, währenddem es in Aceton vollständig unlöslich ist. Auf Zusatz von verdünnten Mineralsäuren zu einer ver dünnten Lösung des Produktes wird ein brauner Niederschlag erhalten; durch Ansäuern mit organischen Säuren bleibt die Lösung klar; auf Zusatz von Ferrichlorid resultiert ein rötlichschwarzer Niederschlag. Das neue Produkt besitzt ausgezeichnete gerbende Eigenschaften.
Process for the preparation of a new thiophenol derivative. It has been found that a new thiophenol derivative can be obtained "if resorcinol is heated with chromium acetate in the presence of sodium hydroxide and sulfur.
<I> Example: </I> 55 parts of resorcinol, 20 parts of sodium hydroxide, 30 parts of sulfur, 15 parts of chromium acetate (26% Cr2Us) and 15 parts of water are heated to 1200 for 40 hours, and the resulting melt is dried in vacuo and ground.
The dark brown powder thus obtained is easily soluble in water and ethyl alcohol with a reddish brown color, while it is completely insoluble in acetone. Upon addition of dilute mineral acids to a dilute solution of the product, a brown precipitate is obtained; the solution remains clear by acidification with organic acids; the addition of ferric chloride results in a reddish black precipitate. The new product has excellent tanning properties.
