Steam or gas turbine with counter-rotating wheels. Steam or gas turbines, in which the working fluid from the blades of one wheel revolves directly in, the blades of a second rotate at the same speed but in the opposite sense.
Wheel flows, have the disadvantage that either the distance between the two: Blade rings is too large for a favorable flow of the working fluid, or that both impellers must be designed asymmetrically to reduce this distance, which means that the impellers are less rigid the most favorable circumferential speed for utilizing the flow energy is not. can be achieved.
The invention relates to a steam or gas turbine with two counter-rotating wheels and consists in the fact that one of the wheels through which the working fluid flows immediately one after the other rotates at a higher speed and is more symmetrical than the other wheel, for the purpose of keeping it safe "g, the most favorable shape for the more heavily stressed wheel, a distance between the two that enables a reduction in the flow losses: to keep the blade rings.
Those at the bikes can do that. be designed that a convex side of the one wheel disc is opposite to a concave side of the other wheel disc.
Two exemplary embodiments of the object of the invention are shown schematically in the drawing.
The two wheels 1 and \? (Fig. 1) are overhung and connected by the flanges 3 and 4 centered with the shafts ä and 6. The waves rotate according to the. Arrows 7 and 8 in the opposite direction of rotation. For example, each of the two shafts can drive a special electrical generator.
In the nozzle 9, the steam or the gas is relaxed and flows through the blade rims 10 and 11 of the two wheels immediately one after the other with constant pressure. The working equipment in the first ring 10 is there because the wheel 1 has a higher speed than. the wheel 2, significantly more power, but also suffers significantly greater losses than in the second ring 11, there. the relative speed in the first tread is greater than in the second.
The first acted upon wheel 1 is built more symmetrically and, as he mentioned, rotates faster than the second acted upon wheel 2. This not only increases the part of the total power delivered in the first wheel, but also improves the efficiency of this wheel.
The efficiency of the second wheel, on the other hand, is not impaired, even if this wheel has to rotate a little slower than if both wheels had the same disc shape; because the entry speed into the second wheel decreases according to the increase in the part of the total power output in the first wheel. The quotient peripheral speed entry speed, which is decisive for the efficiency, therefore remains approximately the same for the second wheel. Consequently, the degree of effectiveness of this wheel is not reduced.
The overall efficiency, on the other hand, is improved since most of the overall power is given off in the first wheel with smaller losses. According to FIG. 1, the basic shape of the disk of the first wheel completed by the dashed line is now completely symmetrical, while the disk of the second wheel is only built symmetrically to such an extent that the distance e between : the two blade wreaths are as small as possible, thereby avoiding flow losses.
The wheel 2 is therefore less symmetrical than the wheel 1. Despite the different speeds, both wheels are subjected to approximately the same load, since the centrifugal force F in the second wheel on a cross section 12 exerts an additional bending load due to the eccentricity a. To make it easier to remove the right wheel, the flange of this wheel is around one. Sunk amount b that is smaller. as -the smallest distance c between the two wheels. D is the distance between the wheels in the middle. The right impeller can then be moved to the left by the amount b and removed to the side when removing it.
Of course, the shape of the disk must be such that the rim of the wheel 2 is brought past the highest point of the wheel disk 1 by tilting. Under certain circumstances, however, it is more appropriate to design the stuffing box and the bearings, as well as the rest of the shafts around the closing parts, so that the shafts; postponed by the amount necessary to remove a wheel; will. can.
In the second exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the easy expansion is achieved in that the shaft 5 of the wheel 1 is hollow and the shaft 6 is passed through the hollow shaft 5 of the other wheel. The left wheel is more symmetrical than the right one and rotates faster than the right one. The two wheels rotate in opposite directions (arrows 7, 8).
In the exemplary embodiments shown: it is possible to let both wheels rotate in opposite directions at the most favorable speed for utilizing the flow energy, without assuming the distance between the two running rings to be so large, @ that this results in a considerable loss of flow.
