Process for the preparation of an itilpene dye of the benzanthronpyr azolianthron series. According to the process of main patent no. 146858 and additions no. 150183-86, valuable descendants of the benzanthrone pyrazole anthrone series are obtained if amino benzanthrone pyrazole anthrones are substituted in the amino groups.
Among other things, the condensation of these amino bodies with derivatives of benzanthrone pyrazole anthrone, which contain exchangeable negative substituents in the molecule, creates new products, presumably benzanthrone pyrazole anthrone imides.
It has now been found that other substituted amino residues can also be easily introduced into the benzanthrone pyrazole anthrone molecule if, in general, nitrogenous compounds which still contain at least one reactive hydrogen atom bonded to nitrogen are used - those of the benzanthrone pyrazole anthrone series Except here, - acts on negatively substituted benzanthrone pyrazole anthrones.
The latter are mainly the halogen and nitro derivatives of Benzanthronpyrazolanthrons into consideration, which, for example, by the action of halogenating agents on Benzanthronpyrazolanthrone in substance, in organic or inorganic rule solution or. Suspension agents, including water, with or without the use of carriers, by synthesis or by replacing exchangeable groups, with halogen (see Swiss patent no.
131362) and by nitration (cf. Swiss Patent No. 131363) of benzanthronpyrazole anthrones or by synthetic construction.
The condensations are carried out by known methods, i.e. generally using a suitable high-boiling solvent and with the addition of acid-binding and reaction-accelerating agents such as sodium acetate, copper arbolate, copper chloride and the like. In individual cases, of course, this can be used as a reaction component The amine that comes in is also a solvent and acid-binding agent, and if volatile substances are present, it is necessary to work in closed vessels under pressure.
The benzanthrone pyrazole anthrones with substituted aurino residues obtained in this way are valuable as vat dyes or as intermediates to such.
The subject of this additional patent is a process for the preparation of a vat dye of the benzanthrone pyrazole anthrone series, which is characterized in that monobromo-benzanthrorpyrazole anthrone, as can be obtained by condensation of pyrazole anthrone with dibromobenzanthrone of melting point 2560, in the presence of a solvent with 1 - aminoanthraquinone

105 parts by weight of 3Torrobrorn-Benzanthrorr- pyrazolanthron (obtainable by condensation of pyrazolanthrone and dibromobenzantbron with melting point 256) with 50 parts of 1-aminoanthraquinone and 50 parts of anhydrous sodium acetate with the addition of 20 parts of copper carbonate in 3000 parts of dry nitrobenzene for 12 hours heated to a boil. The color of the mixture turns from olive green to blue-gray and the condensation product separates out.
After cooling, it is filtered and washed with nitrobenzene, alcohol and water. Any copper salt still present is removed by boiling with dilute hydrochloric acid, filtered again and washed neutral. The dye obtained in this way, probably with the following formula: forms a reddish-purple paste, when dried, a dark powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a green color. Water falls from this solution blue-gray flakes. From a blue-gray alkaline hydrosulfite vat, the dye on cotton gives blue-gray dyeings of excellent fastness.
