Il comporte, comme d'autres appareils connus pour le séchage des cheveux, un cas que, une gaine souple destinée à relier le cas que à la tête, une conduite amenant de l'air chaud au casque et supportant ce dernier. ;Niais il s'en distingue par le fait que le cas- que est relié à la conduite par une articula tion telle que, en coopération avec la gaine, la personne dont les cheveux doivent être sé chés puisse remuer la tête dans tous les sens.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de l'appa reil selon l'invention.
Sa figure unique en est une élévation avec arrachement partiel.
Le casque métallique a de l'appareil re présenté a à peu près la forme d'une demi- sphère dont l'ouverture est tournée vers le bas et qui présente à sa partie supérieure une grande ouverture centrale circulaire b, ainsi qu'une couronne annulaire de trous c, entou rant l'ouverture b. La gaine souple d en tissu relie le casque a à la tête de la personne en traitement et est munie de deux coulisses<I>e,</I> f donnant cha cune passage à un cordon g ou h; la coulisse e et le cordon g servent à la fixer au casque a, la coulisse f et le cordon h à la tête. Elle n'entoure que le haut de celle-ci et laisse libres les yeux, le nez, la bouche.
La conduite servant à l'amenée de l'air chaud est constituée par un tube métallique cylindrique vertical i se terminant à son ex trémité inférieure par un tronc de cône j destiné à augmenter la vitesse de l'air à sa sortie. En regard de ce cône j se trouve un cône-déflecteur métallique<I>7e</I> dont la pointe est tournée vers le haut et qui est porté par trois tiges l; il .doit empêcher l'air chaud sortant de i d'atteindre directement la partie de la tête .se trouvant en regard du tronc de cône 7c, de façon qu'elle ne soit pas brûlée, et doit répartir cet air chaud sur le reste de la chevelure.
Le tube i .est muni à son extrémité inférieure d'un tronc de cône métallique ex térieur rapporté m sur lequel le casque a prend appui par le bord de son ouverture centrale<I>b.</I> Le tronc de cône<I>m</I> et le bord de cette ouverture forment ainsi une articulation permettant à la personne en traitement de tourner la tête dans tous les sens, de la bais ser, de la lever.
Une boucle n est prévue latéralement sur le tube i et reçoit un bras fixe o supportant tout l'appareil.
On se sert comme suit de cette forme d'exécution: La personne .dont les cheveux doivent être séchés s'assied sur un siège, au-dessous du casque cr porté par le tube<I>i</I> et le bras o; on relie sa tête à ce casque a au moyen de la gaine d, puis on fait fonctionner la source d'air chaud alimentant la conduite i, par exemple un ventilateur électrique faisant passer de l'air sur une résistance électrique.
L'air chaud, sortant à grande vitesse du tronc de cône ,j, frappe le cône-déflecteur k. et se répartit sur toute la chevelure. Quant à l'air chaud ayant été au contact avec la chevelure et ayant par suite absorbé de l'hu midité, il s'échappe par les trous c.
Pendant toute la durée du séchage, qui est souvent assez longue, 25 minutes par exemple, la personne en traitement peut res pirer librement, sans risquer que l'air chaud la frappe au visage, et mouvoir la tête dans tous les sens avec facilité, grâce à l'articu lation entre casque et tube i.
Cette articulation peut naturellement être réalisée d'une manière différant de celle re présentée sur le dessin.
La liaison de la gaine d au casque et à la tête peut avoir lieu autrement, par exem ple au moyen de parties élastiques: Le déflecteur peut avoir une forme autre que celle d'un cône.
