Description

  Pesticides.

The present invention is a pesticide, characterized by a content of salts of basic fatty acid amides and soluble, for
Compounds suitable for pest control.

It has been found that highly effective pest control agents can be obtained by using soluble pesticides together with salts of basic fatty acid amides.

Such basic fatty acid amides and their
Ammonium compounds are described, inter alia, in patent specification 107202 and their additives 107776-107782, also in patents 130881, 133372 and 133373. Examples of such compounds are, for example:

Oleyl-diethylamino-ethyl amide, oleylaminopropylamide, oleyl-piperidino-ethylamide, the addition product of dimethyl sulfate with oleyl-diethylamino-ethylamide. Other basic fatty acid amides are, for example, those which are derived from diamines containing OH groups, for example oleyl-β-oxy-γ-diethylamino-propyl amide and its ammonium compounds, and also those which are derived from cyclic diamines , such as stearyl-p-amino-dimethyl-aniline and the ammonium compounds derived therefrom, and also 4-oleylamino- (diethylamino-ethyl-methyl) aniline of the formula
EMI1.1
Stearyl piperazine etc.

Such basic fatty acid amides can also be obtained by partial acylation of compounds such as diethylenetriamine, triethylenetetramine, NHE-CH2-CH2-NH-CH2-CH2-NH2, NH2-CHz-CH2-NH-CH2-CH2-NH-CH2-CH2-NH2, and from other similar compounds, furthermore from their alkylation or aralkylation products or the ammonium compounds thereof. Of these products, those that are derived from high molecular weight fatty acids are particularly valuable. These include: palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, lauric acid, etc.

The salts of a wide variety of acids can be used with the diamines acylated on one side, with particular advantage being salts of acids which themselves have a fungicidal or insecticidal effect, such as benzoates, arsenates, silicon fluorides, etc.

Examples of soluble pest-killing agents that are particularly suitable for the present purpose are: inorganic or organic metal compounds: copper sulfate, copper acetate, sodium arsenate, mercury chloride, chlorophenol quartzilver, sodium cyanomercury-cresol, and also synthetic or natural water-soluble compounds suitable for pest control organic compounds such as soaps, nicotine and its salts, quassia extract, saponins, etc.

The effectiveness of the basic fatty acid amides is based in the present case in particular on their ability to wet infected parts of plants and penetrate them, and also on their own bactericidal properties and properties that are toxic to microorganisms.

They also have the advantage of a wide range of action from acidic to alkaline environments and can therefore be combined with acidic or alkaline substances as required
For example, the salts of oleyldiethylaminoethylamide with copper acetate and the quaternary ammonium compounds with alkaline pest control agents, such as nicotine base, can be combined, giving the agents mentioned great wetting and penetrating power. The substances can also be used with inert carriers such as kieselguhr, for example.
