Description
Tensioning device for link chain drives. The present invention is a tensioning device in articulated chains drives with two chains, as they are used for example in motor vehicles with sliding deck for moving the latter. In this case, only the pulling chain strand is always tensioned, but the pulled one is not, so that it rattles while driving; In addition, when the top movement begins, the slackness of one chain strand results in bumps in the chain. The difficulty in keeping the chain taut at all times, however, lies in the fact that when the top is opened, one strand is the one that is pulled when closing the top, so one strand alternately becomes slack.
This disadvantage is now eliminated with the tensioning device according to the invention in that between the two chain strands in the vicinity of a diversion wheel two swing arms connected by a tension spring and resting at their ends on the chain strands are pivotably supported.
To guide the chain, one or more guide rollers can be arranged between the two chain strands in the vicinity of the drive wheel.
An embodiment of the subject invention is shown in the drawing Darge, namely: Figure 1 shows the device in vertical section; FIG. 2 is a partial front view of this, and FIG. 3 is a section along line III-III in FIG. 2.
K is the articulated chain driving the sliding roof of a motor vehicle, the two strands of which K1 and K2 run from the drive wheel A vertically upwards into the chain guide F. A base plate 1, which carries a chain guide roller 3 on an axle 2, is fastened between the lower end of the guide and the drive wheel. The outer end of the axle 2 is mounted in a bracket 1a screwed tightly to the base plate. The hub diameter of the guide roller 3 corresponds approximately to the distance between the two chain strands given by the guide F, while the diameter of the guide flanges is dimensioned so that the chain is prevented from slipping out of the guide roller.
A swing arm 4, 4 'consisting of two parts lying parallel to one another is rotatably mounted on the axis 2 and carries a chain wheel 6 lying on the chain strand K1, which is mounted between the two parts 4, 4'. A same two-part swing arm 5, 5 'rotatably mounted on the axis 2 carries a sprocket 7 which rests on the chain strand K. The front swing arm part 4 has a projection 4a, which can apply to the front swing arm part 5 and here determined by the smallest angle, wel che two swing arms can include one another.
The front swing arm part 5 has an extension 5a provided with lateral pins, on which a tension spring 8 is anchored, the other end of which engages the swing arm 4 in such a way that the same endeavors to pull the two swing arms against each other. On the base plate 1 seated projections 9 and 10 limit the pivoting of the swing arms.
If the chain strand K1 tightens, for example when the convertible top is closed, it causes the swing arm 4, 4 'to pivot to the left until it rests against the projection 9 5, 5 'pivoted in the same direction of rotation, and the chain wheel 7 presses the piece of chain between the guide roller 3 and the drive wheel A inward, so that the drawn chain strand K2 is also tensioned. When opening the convertible top, when K2 is the pulling and K1 is the pulling chain strand, the effect is reversed.
