Machine for winding wire from one reel to another reel. If one wishes to wind wire from one reel onto another reel, one of the reels, for example the take-up reel, will in most cases be driven at a constant speed. If one wishes to drive the supply reel as well, it is difficult to achieve that the tension in the wire remains the same. If this is not the case, there is a possibility that the wire will break.
In the machine according to the invention, in which one of the reels is driven at a constant speed, the other reel is driven via a device which regulates the drive speed of this reel by determining the difference between the unwound and the wound wire length per unit of time is influenced. This device ensures that the tension of the wire fluctuates around a constant value with small deviations, so that wire breaks will almost not occur.
In one embodiment of the machine, the wire is guided over a roller attached to a lever, the speed of the supply roller being regulated by the movement of this lever. The lever can work together with a servo motor that is coupled to a friction roller that transmits motion between two friction disks.
In the accompanying drawing, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated for example ver, namely Fig. 1 shows a side view of the winding machine partly in section, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of part of the machine.
In FIG. 1, 10 denotes the take-up reel on which the wire 12 coming from a supply reel 11 is wound. The wire 12 is guided over a roller 13 which is mounted on a rod 14, the position of which is determined by the difference between the unwound and wound wire length per unit of time. When changing the length of the winding wire located between the coils, the position of the rod 14 bearing lever 16, which swings around the pin 17 and another swing around the point 19, the lever 18 gives a movement. This lever 18 is coupled to a servo motor 21 by means of a rod 20.
This servo motor has a cylinder 22 in which a piston 23 is movable. A slide 24 moves in this piston. The servo motor is operated with oil under pressure, which is fed through the opening 25 of the cylinder and through the opening 26 in the piston 23 and to the ringför-shaped space 27 between the slide and the piston flows. When the slide 24 is moved to the right by the rod 20, the opening 28 is no longer covered by the flange-shaped part of the slide so that the oil will enter the channel 30 and thus the space 31.
As a result, an overpressure is generated in the latter and the piston 23 is moved to the right until the flange of the slide 24 covers the opening 28 again. If the slide 24 is moved to the left, an overpressure will arise in the space 32 and the piston 23 will be moved to the left. The piston is connected by means of a rod 33 to a friction roller 34 which moves between the friction disc 35 driven at constant speed and the disc 36 mounted on the axis of the unwinding reel. The action of the machine is as follows. The take-up reel 10 is driven at a constant speed.
The more layers this coil contains, the larger the diameter of these layers and the greater the wire feed speed should be. In the case of the unwinding reel, the diameter of the layers will decrease and thus the wire removal speed will always decrease at a constant drive speed. This has the consequence that the wire length will decrease. However, the same can be kept constant by increasing the drive speed of the supply reel.
At the moment when the supply reel runs too slowly, the roll 13 is pulled down against the action of the spring 15, which causes the movement of the rod 20 and, through the intermediary of the servo motor, also the movement of the rod 33 to the left: This has the consequence that the friction roller is adjusted on the one hand to the edge of the disc 35 and on the other hand to the center of the disc 36, so that the speed of rotation of the shaft 40 of the supply reel 11 is significantly increased and the tension in the wire 12 is reduced. Since the servo motor 21 is also extremely sensitive, the tension in the wire 12 will remain practically constant, apart from very slight fluctuations.
Wire breakage will therefore not occur or only very rarely.
