Ein absperr barer Kanal<I>7e</I> leitet hinter der Feuerbrücke<I>i</I> Luft zur -Verbrennung des Rauches zu.
Process and device for incineration, in particular cremation in crematoria. The invention relates to a method for cremation, in particular cremation, in crematoria, and a device for performing the method. Compared to known devices, such as cremation ovens or other incineration ovens, the oven according to the invention allows a considerably simplified, cheaper construction and can work with large, and in continuous operation even with complete, fuel savings.
Known methods and devices have in addition to a permanently in operation Feuexling regenerators or Rekupe-

rators <SEP> of <SEP> large <SEP> dimensions. <SEP> The <SEP> Ver lind <SEP> the <SEP> device <SEP> after <SEP> the <SEP> On the other hand, <SEP> can <SEP> without <SEP> such <SEP> auxiliary devices <SEP> If <SEP> and <SEP> work, <SEP> only requires around a third of the space used up to now.
The operating costs can be extremely low with a device according to the invention, because no heating means are needed in continuous operation and because the costs for heating up the device, which is possible in a small version, are only low.
The method according to the invention enables a combustion muffle, if handled appropriately, to be kept above the ignition temperature of the objects to be burned due to the heat released during the combustion process. This is done by injecting thin, controllable jets from the gas that supplies oxygen, for example air or oxygen, onto the combustion object, which are necessary for combustion, which are directed in such a way that they avoid or largely limit the distribution that occurs in known furnaces Bring the oxygen required for incineration, for example cremation, exclusively to the object of incineration throughout the furnace chamber.
The rays are therefore directed in such a way that they cannot touch the furnace wall and therefore do not cool it down. As a result, these walls can only come into contact with the flame gases generated from the combustion, whereby they remove heat from the latter and store it in order to radiate it back onto the combustion object. The combustion process can then be maintained, and the furnace can carry out any number of incinerations, for example cremations, one after the other without the supply of fuel, but only with the help of the oxygen-supplying gas, which can even be cold, even with significant breaks in operation length.
A device for performing the method according to the invention consists in a combustion, for example cremation muffle, which is equipped with nozzles for introducing controllable jets from the oxygen-supplying gas and possibly a feed line to them. The nozzles are arranged in such a way that the jets emerging from them do not touch the walls of the muffle, but only hit the object to be burned.
In addition, the muffle can be combined with a post-combustion chamber which is known per se and is used to burn the smoke and solid residues and which is only heated by the glowing flue gases flowing to the chimney.
In the drawing, for example, a cremation device is shown schematically in an exemplary embodiment in Fig. 1 in longitudinal section and in Fig. 2 in an associated plan.
A muffle b formed by cladding masonry a is used to hold the object c to be cremated. An afterburning room d is connected to the muffle, in which ash residues above a grate e are freed from the adhering charcoal of the coffin, for example, and the smoke and these charcoal residues are burned. A collecting room <I> f </I> is located under room d. Rooms <I> d </I> and <I> f </I> are accessible through lockable service openings r and s. The exhaust gases escape through a fox g to the chimney (not shown).
The top of the muffle carries a downwardly projecting guide surface of a stagnant land <B> lt, </B> opposite a fire bridge i .. This is low and beveled so that milling residues from door 1 can easily be put into the afterburning with a device - to be able to slide room d. A lockable duct <I> 7e </I> leads behind the fire bridge <I> i </I> air to burn the smoke. The purpose of the guide surface is to influence the combustion in the afterburning chamber by means of turbulence.
The muffle b is provided with a number of air and gas nozzles, all of which can be controlled and operated from the outside by shut-off elements v on pipelines -u or by flaps, slides or the like that are not ge. In order to be able to warm up the muffle for the first time, Brennga.sdüsen na and lockable duct openings n are arranged through the atmospheric air in the direction of the arrows i. can flow.
These gas nozzles in and the air channels rr. are switched off and closed as soon as the muffle is preheated to the point that the combustion process can be kept in operation without the addition of fuel gas. Instead of this additional gas heater, any other auxiliary fuel can be used for heating.
When the ignition temperature of the cremation object is reached, whoever turned on the nozzles o and y for air and oxygen supply. These can be switched on individually or in groups. They are arranged on both sides of the muffle so that they. the rays flowing from them only hit the surface of the cremation or Guide the combustion object, but keep the muffle walls free from them.
The bottom of the muffle can consist of an inclined plane, at the lowest point of which a closable opening q is arranged in order to be able to free the ashes of metals (zinc).
