Description
Elektrische Geschwindigkeitsmesseinrichtung.
Electric speed measuring device. For electrical speed measurement of revolutions etc., a small, constantly excited DC or AC generator is usually used, which is driven at the speed to be measured and whose voltage or frequency is measured by a normal instrument. This measurement method is very expensive, especially for low speeds, since the generators in question are relatively large; the constant excitement of the same also presents difficulties.
A simple, electrical speed measuring device can be produced according to the present invention.
The accompanying drawing shows schematically an embodiment of the subject of the invention.
1 denotes a cam disk which is driven at the speed to be measured and influences a changeover switch in such a way that its movable contact part 2 alternately touches the two stationary contacts 3 and 4. 5 is a capacitor, 6 is a constant voltage direct current source, 7 is a milliammeter, preferably a moving coil instrument with permanent magnets.
Through the drawn cam, the contact 2 comes into contact with the countercontact th 3 and 4 six times during one revolution of the latter.
During the time in which the contacts 2 and 4 make contact, the capacitor 5 is charged with the voltage of the power source 6. When the contacts 2 and 3 touch each other, the capacitor 5 is discharged via the ammeter 7. The current flowing through the latter is directly proportional to the number of discharges per second, i.e. it depends on the rotational speed of the cam disk 1.
In order to control the voltage of the current source 6, the ammeter 7 can be placed directly on the terminals of the current source 6 by means of a switch 8 via a resistor 9 with the cam disc stopped, the ammeter 7 serving as a voltmeter. Any changes in the voltage can be compensated for by varying the capacitance 5 or taps on the voltage source 6. Another possibility for compensation is a variable shunt (shown in dotted lines) to instrument 7.
A battery of galvanic elements or a small accumulator battery is used as the voltage source 6.
