Device for testing roadways and wheels rolling on them. It has been proposed to determine the resistance of roadways (railroad tracks, pavement, asphalt, etc.) and wheels to wear and tear by attaching a piece of such a roadway to the table of a testing machine and going back and forth on the same a loaded wheel (railway wagon wheel, car tire or the like) can roll freely. This test method does not correspond to reality. In addition to the vertical pressure load, the wheels slide on the roadway to a greater or lesser extent when driving, which was not taken into account during the test procedure described at the beginning.
However, it was precisely this sliding that is of crucial importance for the wear and tear on both the road surface and the wheels.
The invention relates to a device which takes into account the conditions just described. It consists in the fact that means are provided to force the wheel to slide relative to the roadway. For this purpose, for example, the wheel can have a drive device. However, in an embodiment with a moving track, the wheel plane can also differ from the direction of movement of the track.
Based on the drawing, in the Ausfüh approximately examples of the subject invention are shown schematically, the test process will be explained in more detail.
In Fig. 1, a is the table of a testing machine, which is moved back and forth on a bed-like base 1) by the drive pinion c. Devices of this type are known, for example, from machine tool construction (table planing machines) A roadway sample d, for example a pavement, is arranged, whose resistance to wear and tear is to be tested at the same time as the wear and tear of a wheel e rolling on it.
This test bike e is stored in a lever f and is pressed by a Ge weight g with adjustable pressure against the road. As the road goes back and forth, the wheel rolls on the same.
So that the sliding according to the invention occurs clca wheel with respect to the roadway, the wheel is provided with a drive device which in FIG. 1 consists of the two disks h and i and the belt 1e running over both. The disk i sits on the same axis as the drive pinion c and gives the wheel e a peripheral speed that is greater or less than the speed of movement of the roadway and accordingly brings about a glide on the roadway.
By changing the washers h and i , the amount of sliding can be prevented. In Fig. 2 and 3 it is shown how the gliding th of the wheel against the road is brought about by that, as he mentioned above, the plane of the wheel deviates from the direction of movement of the road i, that is, the wheel axis in the pointed Angle to the direction of movement of the roadway is. The wheel e 'is pressed similar to the previous figures by weight loading or the like against the roadway d' and receives its drive only from the roadway.
The directions of movement of the test pieces are indicated by the double arrows o and p. As can be seen in FIG. 3, these directions of movement are at an angle to one another, and this results in the sliding required according to the invention, the extent of which can be regulated by changing the size of the viewing angle.
Instead of the one described in the examples. Roadways d can also pieces of railroad tracks or any other roadways can be built on the table of the testing machine, and all types of wheels can be. Wheel tires, etc. are examined in connection therewith.
