Description

Porte basculante.

The object of the invention is a tilting door which can be used for closing large openings, such as those presented in workshops, garages, stores, etc., everywhere where a small footprint or development of the door is required.

It comprises a panel suspended by two lateral arms and two counterweights compensating for the weight of said panel to allow easy change of its position by tilting it on its suspension points and bringing it to its open position, i.e. horizontal under the lintel.

The attached drawing gives in vertical section (closed position) an exemplary embodiment of said invention.

The dotted lines indicate an intermediate position and the open position of said door.

The mobile panel i is formed of a metal frame surrounding a filling in any material, such as wood; glass, sheet metal, etc. On the sides of the frame are fixed the pins 5 serving as axes for the rollers 6 and attachment points for the cables C of the counterweights 7 as well as the pins 4 serving as points of suspension of the panel by the side arms 2.

The arms 2 are connected at their upper part by a rigid axis resistant to torsion and oscillating around the journals 3.

The rails R serve as guides for the rollers 6 and as supports for the journals 3, as well as for the deflection pulley 8 and also act as battens against which the panel comes to rest while closing.

The operation of the door is determined as follows To open the door, pulling the handle P in the direction of the arrow tilts the panel 1 towards the inside of the room, making the arms describe an arc of a circle. 2 and raising the panel to the ceiling.

On each side a counterweight 7 provided with a cable C passing over a pulley 8 and fixed to the panel by the journal 5 compensates for the weight of said panel. The pulleys 6 guide on the rails R the upward step of the door which, by rising, moves its suspension points (4-4'-4 ") to finally take the horizontal position under the lintel and the ceiling as shown in dotted lines.

Closing is done in the opposite direction by gripping the door by a point on its lower part and bringing it back to its vertical position applied against the rail serving as a battue.

A lock secures the door in its closed position.

Claims (1)

CLAIM Up-and-over door, characterized in that it comprises -a panel suspended by two lateral arms oscillating on two journals fixed to the upper part of fixed lateral uprights, which serve as guide rails for two rollers fixed to the sides of the panel in its lower part and guiding said panel during its operation, two counterweights compensating for the weight of the panel and supporting the latter by means of cables passing over return pulleys, the whole arranged so that when the panel is tilted inwards , it tilts on the fixing points of the lateral arms by making an arc of a circle describe them, rises towards the lintel and gradually reaches the horizontal position. SUB-CLAIM Up-and-over door according to claim, characterized in that the suspension arms are made integral with one another by a rigid shaft joining them at their upper part in order to force the sides of the panel to operate in parallel and thus prevent warping of the panel.
