Pièce d'horlogerie électrique La présente invention a pour objet une pièce d'horlo gerie électrique comprenant une source de courant, une base de temps délivrant des impulsions à une fréquence fixe, un circuit de commande piloté par la base de temps et un dispositif moteur électromagnétique comprenant lui-même une partie fixe et une partie mobile en rota tion autour d'un axe, l'une desdites parties étant pôur- vue d'au moins un enroulement et l'autre d'au moins un élément d'armature en matière ferromagnétique;
Electric timepiece The present invention relates to an electric timepiece comprising a current source, a time base delivering pulses at a fixed frequency, a control circuit driven by the time base and a motor device. electromagnetic itself comprising a fixed part and a part movable in rotation about an axis, one of said parts being for at least one winding and the other for at least one reinforcing element in ferromagnetic material;
and the product of the number of frame members and the number of windings being an integer multiple of the number of pulses required to rotate the movable part by one revolution.
Timepieces of this type are already known in which the motor device comprises a rotor driven by a continuous or jerky movement. The speed of the rotor is determined by the frequency of the pulses delivered by the time base. In general, in these known timepieces, although a frequency divider is interposed between the time base and the motor, the speed of rotation of the latter is relatively high and a reduction gear train is still provided. between the engine and the indicators.
However, it is currently possible to produce frequency dividing devices which make it possible to supply the pulses originating from the time base at as slow a rate as desired.
The aim of the invention is therefore to produce a timepiece provided with a slow-advancing motor that does not require a bulky reduction gear train for driving the indicator members.
For this, the timepiece according to the invention is characterized in that the control circuit comprises a distributor device which controls the passage of a current in the or part of said windings, the total number of energized windings and elements. armature which cooperate with the latter being, during each pulse, less than the total number of armature elements and windings included in the motor device.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, various embodiments of the timepiece according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial and schematic plan view of the first embodiment, the dial being removed, FIG. 2 is a view in partial axial section and also schematic of the timepiece of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 a partial plan view, also a schematic diagram of the second embodiment, FIG. 4 is a sectional view on a larger scale of part of the timepiece of FIG. 3,
fig. 5 a view similar to FIG. 3 of the third embodiment, FIG. 6 a view similar to FIG. 4 of the third embodiment, FIG. 7 a view similar to FIG. 5 of the fourth embodiment, FIG. 8 is a block diagram of the electronic circuits of the timepiece according to FIGS. 1 and 2, fig. 9 a view similar to FIG. 8 relating to the second embodiment,
fig. 10 a view similar to FIG. 9 referring to the third embodiment, and FIG. 11 a view similar to FIG. 10 relating to the fourth embodiment.
The timepiece partially shown in FIG. 1, shows the dimensions of a wristwatch. The jig of the movement, which is intended to be engaged in a case of usual shape and dimensions, is represented by a mixed line. This box contains a current source (not shown) which can be constituted by a battery. or an accumulator. The movement begins with a time base. This device (not shown) can be of any type capable of providing pulses at a fixed frequency.
It can consist, for example, of a piezoelectric quartz, of an electronic oscillating device, if necessary, of an electromechanical vibrating device, for example a diapason or a torsion pendulum, etc. The pulses emitted by the time base are conducted into a frequency divider (not shown) at the output of which they present a frequency of one pulse per second. The frequency divider can be formed in a manner known per se by means of flip-flop circuits which can be produced in the form of integrated circuits.
We see in fig. 1 and 2, the dial 1 of the watch. This dial is fixed to the frame 2 of the movement and extends under the glass (not shown). The coaxial indicator units 3, 4 and 5 located above the dial indicate the seconds, minutes and hours respectively. These indicator members are carried by frame elements 6 and 7 fixed by means not shown to the frame 2. The seconds indicator member 3 is carried by a shaft 8, which is guided in a sleeve 9 integral with the control element. frame 7 and which has at its lower end a pivot 10 engaged in an opening of the frame element 6.
It is also provided with a pinion 11 which meshes with a train of gears mounted between the frame elements 6 and 7 and connected to the roadway 12. The latter carries the minute hand at the end of its barrel. 4 and pivots on the sleeve 9. Around the carriageway is mounted the hour gun wheel 13 which carries the needle 5 and which is connected to the carriageway 12 by a usual timer wheel (not shown).
The seconds indicator member 3 constitutes the driving member of the mechanism described. It is driven around its axis at a rate of one revolution per minute by the following means: under the dial 1 is arranged an annular ring 14 made of a low remanence ferromagnetic material which has projecting elements 15 and 16 arranged alternately along its inner edge and along its outer edge and which protrude upwards towards the dial. The number of elements 15 and 16 is sixty in total. The crown 14 also carries cylindrical tenons 17 which extend to the same height as the projections 15 and 16, which are distributed along the periphery of the crown 14 and the number of which is also sixty.
Around each of these tenons is arranged a coil 18 of insulated fine wire, these coils being connected as will be explained below.
The indicator member 3 has the shape of a tapered needle, but carrying under its free end a frame 19 of soft iron, made as light as possible. To ensure the balance of the indicator member 3, a counterweight element 20 is placed at its end located beyond the axis 8. The dial is made of plastic or another non-magnetic material. If necessary, it could present, facing the periphery of the crown 14, a recess making it possible to bring the base of the armature 19 and the upper faces of the projections 15, 16 and the tenons 17 closer together, so as to reduce the air gap between these organs.
In yet another embodiment, it would be possible to embed in the plastic material of the dial metal elements situated in line with the elements 15, 16 and 17 constituting the pole pieces.
As seen in fig. 1, the arrangement of the bobbins 18 staggered makes it possible to distribute sixty bobbins around the dial 1 without being hampered by their external dimensions. The motor device constituted by the coils 18 and their core as well as by the armature 19, operates as follows The current supplied by the current source of the watch is sent successively to each of the coils 18, </ B > the duration during which it passes in each of these coils being one second, and each coil ceasing to be traversed by the current at the precise moment when the neighboring coil, in the clockwise direction, is itself connected to the source current.
The forces of attraction exerted by the pole pieces magnetized by the passage of the current on the armature 19 attract the latter in a position where the air gap is minimum and maintain it in this position throughout the duration of the passage of the current .
An electronic distributor device (fig. 8) distributes the current in the various coils at the rate indicated. Coils 18 are connected in groups of six. The coils of the first group are designated by 18a, those of the second group by 18b, ete. It can be seen that each coil can be connected, on the one hand, to ground and, on the other hand, to the positive pole of the current source by means of two switches each forming part of a group of switches. The first group comprises ten switches 21a, 21b, etc., and the second group comprises six switches 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27.
All these switches are normally open, but it can be seen that if the switches 21a and 22, for example, are closed, the first coil 18a is traversed by the current of the battery whereas if it is the switches 21b and 24 which are closed , it will be the third coil of group 18b which will be traversed by the current. The sixteen switches described therefore make it possible to make all the connections necessary to successively connect the sixty coils 18.
The switches 21 to 27 are formed by transistors and are controlled by trans pulses placed at their base by a line coming from a decoding device. The decoding device 28 which controls the switches 21 is connected to a divider by ten device 29, while the decoding device 30 which controls the switches 22 to 27 is connected to a divider by six device 31, which is itself. even powered by the device 29. All these devices are logic circuits composed of transistors connected in flip-flop, for example, and produced in integrated form. Such devices are known.
Represented at 32 is the time base and its divider device, the output of which provides identical pulses to each other at a rate of one per second. The circuits of the divider device 29 are arranged so that each pulse controls two neighboring switches 21, one on opening and the other on closing and this cyclically, switch 2a being closed again at the second which follows when the switch 21j has been closed itself. In addition, every ten seconds, a pulse is given by the line 33 which controls the device 31, so that every ten seconds also, two of the switches 22 to 27 are activated. In this way, all the coils 18 are successively connected in the course of one minute.
In the device which has just been described, the movable member 3 of the driving device is constantly subjected to the force of attraction originating from an active magnetic circuit, so that risks of stalling are avoided. The dispensing device shown in FIG. 8 can be produced in the form of integrated circuits constituting a wafer, for example a disc, which can be housed at the most suitable location inside the watch, for example between the current source and the frame 2 The size of this device is therefore practically negligible. In addition, the mechanical parts are reduced to a very great extent, which makes it possible to produce a watch of small dimensions.
The crown 14 could be made, for example in sintered metal, for example in sintered iron, without its production causing machining problems.
Finally, it should be noted that the frame 19 can also be made of soft iron so that the device described does not require the presence of permanent magnets.
The rotor of the device described simply consists of the needle 3 with its shaft and the pinion 11. Its inertia is very low, so that it can be driven step by step easily, by the coils 18.
Instead of the switches acting so as to cause the current to flow through each coil for a whole second, resulting in jerky movement of the rotor 3, the control of the switches can also be done so that the rotor is driven in continuous motion. . This arrangement provides savings in electrical energy since it is not necessary to accelerate and brake the rotor on each forward movement. It can be useful in particular in the case where the rotor has a greater inertia than that of the rotor 3, for example in the second embodiment which will now be described.
This second embodiment has the advantage over the first that the number of coils can be reduced to a considerable extent. In fact, as seen in FIG. 3, the frame 34 is in the form of a crown segment extending over an arc of just over 90 degrees. It presents along its internal edge a continuous projection 35, which forms a pole piece, and carries three tenons 36 around each of which is mounted a coil 37. The frame 34 is housed under the dial 38, the tenons 36 and the projection 35 being directed on the side opposite the dial. Opposite these parts extends a metal disc 39 which presents along its periphery twenty elements 40 in the form of teeth separated by notches 41.
These notches can be rounded, as shown in fig. 3, or another square shape, trapezoidal, for example. The disc 39 is made of soft iron and the elements 40 constitute armature elements which cooperate with the coils 37. The rib 35 and the tenons 36 form the magnetic circuit of the coils. The angular distance between the latter equals, as seen in fig. 3, at 2 1 / s times the pitch of the teeth 40. The three coils 37 constitute a static magnetic escapement. Their connection between ground and the positive pole of the current source is shown in fig. 9.
In the circuit of each coil is interposed a switch 42a, 42b, 42c, consisting of a transistor whose base is connected to a control device 43 similar to devices 29 and 28 of FIG. 8. Device 43 is also formed of logic circuits. It is controlled by an oscillator 44. The latter supplies, via line 45, identical pulses in succession at the rate of one per second. In the device 43, these pulses are distributed successively and cyclically on the switches 42a, 42b, 42c, such that the latter are each conductive for the duration of one second.
Returning to fig. 4, we see that the disc 39 is integral with a shaft 46 which pivots on the one hand, in a frame element 47 and on the other hand, in a lower bearing (not shown). The shaft 46 is guided in a sleeve 48 integral with the frame element 47 and around which are mounted a carriageway 49 and a cannon wheel 50. All these members pass through a central opening of the dial 38 and carry the shaft 46 , a seconds hand 51, the carriageway 49 a minute hand 52, and the wheel 50 an hour hand 53.
The cannon wheel 50 and the roadway 49 are connected by the usual timer wheel (not shown) while the roadway is connected on its side to a pinion 54 secured to the disc 39 by a gear system provided with a coupling. friction mechanism for setting the time of the hands. When the disc 39 is rotated by the positive motor device 37, 40, it rotates at the speed of one revolution per minute and actuates the hands 51, 52, 53.
It will be noted that in a variant of this embodiment, the coils 37 could also be replaced by three groups of coils connected in parallel and arranged around the periphery of the disc 39. The axes of the coils, instead of being parallel to the The axis of rotation of the disc 39 could also be arranged radially with respect to this disc.
In still other embodiments, other combinations between the number of coils and the number of reinforcing elements cooperating with these coils to ensure the rotation of the motor member could be made. Thus, the number of coils can be any sub-multiple of sixty; greater than three.
The dispensing device of FIG. 9 is also of a simpler embodiment than that of FIG. 8 and may consist of integrated circuits.
If it is desired to reduce the number of coils used in the motor device to a number less than three, then the rotor must be fitted with a device ensuring starting in the clockwise direction. Only one coil can be used, but it must be coreless and permanent magnets must be used as reinforcing elements. This is shown in Figs. 5 to 7 which shows a third embodiment in which only one coil is used, and a fourth embodiment, in which two coils are used.
The watch shown partially in FIGS. 5 and 6 comprises a mechanical device which is identical to that shown in FIG. 4 and which, therefore, will not be described in detail here. The shaft 46, of which we see the lower bearing 54 which is integral with a fixed base plate 55, instead of the disc 39, carries a radial arm 56 at the end of which is fixed a coreless coil 57, of elongated shape. . This coil moves above a ring formed by sixty armature elements 58 and 59 made up of permanent magnets, the magnetic axes of which are directed alternately upwards and downwards.
Plate 55 constitutes a core element. It can be composite and have at its periphery a soft iron crown with low remanence, extending as far as the annular projection 60, the internal part of the plate 55 being isolated from said crown. The two ends of the winding 57 are connected to shoes 61 and 62, which rotate in contact with fixed annular collecting elements 63 and 64 integral with the plate 55 and isolated from the latter. These contact members are themselves each connected to two of the four switches 65a, 65b, 65c and 65d visible in FIG. 10. The switches 65a and 65b are connected to the positive blade of the current source, while the switches 65c and 65d are connected to ground.
The electronic distributor 66 is controlled by the oscillator 67, via the line 68 which supplies iderftic pulses at a rate of one per second. It controls the four switches by pulses transmitted to the bases of the various transistors. Each pulse coming through line 68 controls the four switches 65a to 65d. If, when a first pulse arrives, the switches 65a and 65d are conducting while the switches 65b and 65c are non-conducting, the situation of each switch is reversed during the next pulse. As a result, at every second, the direction of the magnetic field created by coil 57 is reversed.
It suffices to associate the rotor 56 with a ratchet cooperating with a pawl or to give the magnets 58 and 59 a suitable asymmetric shape so that the rotor, repelled by the magnet opposite which it is located and attracted by the neighboring magnet clockwise moves in this direction when the current reverses.
It will be noted that in principle the arrangement which has just been described could also be reversed in the sense that the permanent magnets 58 and 59 could be mounted on a rotary member, the coil being fixed. The inertia of the rotor would then be greater than it is in the embodiment of FIG. 5, but, on the other hand, the presence of movable mechanical contacts would be avoided.
Figs. 7 and 11 finally show a last embodiment, the principle of which is the same as that of the third. The arm 56 is however replaced in this embodiment by a diametral arm 69 which carries a coil 70 at each of its ends. The angular difference between these two coils is 174- and the armature is fixed (not shown). which extends opposite the member 69 carries thirty frame elements 71 with low remanence. These elements are arranged along the same row, which makes it possible to use circular coils, the latter being provided with cores. As shown in fig. 11, the two coils 70 are each controlled by a switch 72.
They are connected to their switch, each by means of a frother 73 and a fixed ring 74 and are connected, on the other hand, to ground by the bearing 54 or by the flanges 75 integral with the. 'tree. The oscillator 76 controls the electronic distributor device 77 which simultaneously actuates the two switches 72 by opening one when it closes the other and vice versa. Each coil 70 is therefore successively energized. Here too, a positive unidirectional rotational drive will ensure starting in the desired direction. The frame elements 71 can be replaced by permanent magnets, if desired, the coils 70 then having to be devoid of cores.
The arrangement can also be reversed in that the frame elements '71, reduced to two, can be made integral with the arm 69 while the coils numbering thirty are mounted on the frame element relative to which the rotor turned.
Although we have described, in all embodiments, an oscillator whose pulses have a frequency of one per second, the motor device could also be controlled by a distributor fed at a different frequency. It would suffice to provide the number of coils and suitable armature elements so that the speed of rotation of the movable part of the motor device is that which is desired.
The various embodiments described above all comprise, between the rotary motor device and the oscillator which supplies pulses at a fixed frequency, an electronic distributor device which has the advantage of being able to be produced in an extremely condensed form, only by means of integrated circuits, and which makes it possible to control magnetic members capable of driving a rotating rotor at the desired speed. The presence of this electronic distributor which makes it possible to choose for the oscillator and for the display system of the watch, solutions well suited to the purpose that these elements must fulfill.
