System with DC motors that are regulated within wide limits and kept in precise relative synchronization. DC motors are preferably used for several electrically driven waves, the speed of which is to be regulated within wide limits and also has to be maintained actively in relative synchronism. The individual drive motors are kept in a certain relative synchronism ratio by means of differential controllers. In the event of synchronous running disturbances, these differentials respond to small angular deviations and act on the field regulator of the DC machine belonging to their drive.
Difficulties have arisen with these arrangements, as the voltage drop that occurs in the armature circuit of the partial drive devices in the event of major changes in the load fluctuates very strongly in percentage terms, depending on the armature terminal voltage. As a result, the control range of the field controller has to be greatly enlarged in order to still cover all operating cases that occur. In addition, the adjustment path and the adjustment speed of the shunt regulator are dependent on the size and the speed at which the angular deviations of the motors that occur in the event of synchronism disturbances.
Over-regulation therefore occurs in certain parts of the control range, so that oscillations are unavoidable.
The present invention relates to a control system in which these deficiencies are eliminated by changing the control range of the field regulator influenced by the differentials as a function of the operating speed.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the attached drawing. The C DC dynamo G is driven by an As, nchronmoto @ r A. On the same shaft, see the exciter machine E, whose:
Voltage can be adjusted by the field regulator R. The voltage of the DC machine is set by the field controller R2. The direct current machine works on the busbars N1, P1 from which the partial drive motors M are fed. The load distribution and the speed control are carried out by means of the field controller R3. The field regulators are adjusted by the differential gears D, the latter being influenced on the one hand by the motor M and on the other hand by means of conical pulleys by the motor L connected to the network N1 P1 via a shaft W.
The fields of all machines L, M and G who of the auxiliary network N2. P2 fed. The resistors R4 are connected in parallel with the resistor R3. which are adjusted simultaneously with the resistor R2 of the traction current dynamo G.
The mode of operation of the arrangement is as follows: In a known manner, the differential gears D achieve synchronization of the individual motors M by acting on the skin controller R3. If the terminal voltage of the individual motors M and thus also their speed is changed by means of the field controller R2, the position of the field control resistors R4 is inevitably changed by changing the position of the field control resistor R2 and the control range of the field controller R3 is set in such a way that at a uniform sensitivity is achieved at all speeds. For the present purpose it is inconsequential
whether the control unit in the known connection and counter circuit or the Leonard circuit shown in the drawing is executed. In each of the two cases, the armature voltage of the separately excited direct current generator, which is usually driven by a three-phase motor, is regulated within wide limits by changing its excitation by means of a control resistor. It is advisable to arrange the additional controller R4 and the main controller R2 next to one another and to connect them mechanically.
For example, when the main controller R2 is controlled by means of electrical remote control. with its inevitable connection with the additional R4 controllers, only its adjusting motor needs to be dimensioned accordingly stronger.
If, on the other hand, the additional regulators R, are also to be individually electrically driven and jointly controlled remotely, their adjusting motors are to be synchronized in a manner known per se. Instead of connecting the additional controller R4 to the main controller R2, they can also, for example, depend on the voltage of the power network.
P ,, Ni must be set electromagnetically or, depending on the number of revolutions of the motors IM, by means of a centrifugal regulator.
It is particularly expedient to arrange this in such a way that the additional controller sets the control range of the automatic controller to be larger at a low operating speed of the motors to be monitored than at a high operating speed.
