Description
Cylinders for double-acting two-stroke internal combustion engines. The invention relates to a cylinder for double-acting two-stroke internal combustion engines and consists in the fact that a cylinder cover is designed as a body of revolution, provided with a central insert, for example for valves, and arranged outside the cylinder cover on ordered screws between a Cylinder cover pulled and the same overlapping cylinder jacket and a cylinder insert is clamped for the purpose of avoiding heavy screw connections in the cylinder cover.
An embodiment of the subject invention is shown in the drawing. The cylinder cover designed as a rotation body Zy 1 is provided with a central A set 2, which is used to accommodate the valves, for. B. the injection and exhaust valves, is used. The cylinder cover is clamped between the cylinder jacket 3 and the cylinder insert 4. The cylinder jacket is connected to the cylinder insert by means of the screws 5. Both are in the zone of the inlet slots 6 and the outlet slots 7 and are centered by the cylinder insert.
The connection of the lower and upper cylinder part is done by screws 8, so that after loosening these screws the expansion of the upper cylinder part as a whole without loosening the seals for the water spaces 9 of the cylinder cover and 10 of the cylinder is possible. The screws 5 are arranged outside the cylinder cover 1 so that the same is not broken.
The cylinder described has the advantage that the previously used, stressed on train bean, heavy cover screws, which by their number and thickness made the production of the cylinder cover, as well as its connection with the cylinder jacket significantly he difficult and expensive, are superfluous. In their place, the cover is held firmly between the jacket and the cylinder insert. The screws 5 are not stressed by the forces acting on the cylinder cover. You only have to absorb the sealing pressure between the liner and the cylinder cover and to maintain the cohesion of the cylinder half consisting of the cover, jacket and liner. The lid, which is also smaller than usual, transfers the forces exerted on it directly to the cylinder jacket.
Furthermore, continuous machining of the cylinder insert is possible with the cylinder described.
