Optionally switchable radio receiver for direct current or alternating current supply. The invention relates to a radio receiving device and has such a device Einrich this device for the purpose that it can be switched very easily either for direct current or for alternating current supply of the glow cathodes of the discharge tubes.
According to the invention, a series of contacts is provided for this purpose, some of which are connected to supply lines of the voltage sources, others to points of the circuit arrangement to be fed by these sources, which contacts are optionally grouped together by brackets or with corresponding contacts in the device arranged box, which contains a transformer, a rectifier with flat and a potentiometer, can be connected in such a way that the device is directed in the former case for direct current and in the second case for alternating current,
in which latter case the required negative grid potentials can also be taken from the potentiometer.
In this case, the box mentioned, which is used for alternating current, is expediently given approximately the same dimensions as the grid preload battery to be used when the filaments are supplied with direct current.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. Fig. 1 is a circuit diagram of the device; Figs. 2 and 3 are views of the device in which only those parts are shown that are necessary for a proper understanding of the. Invention are important.
In Fig. 1, the parts belonging to the actual Emp catch device are separated by a ge dashed line from the auxiliary device, which can supply the heating current and the negative bias from an AC network. The first mentioned parts are marked with 0, the others with W. The various parts of the receiving device that are shown in the scheme in the usual way are not described in detail.
The various points of the circuit arrangement, which must be applied to the voltage sources, are connected to contacts 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11 and 13, while when the device is supplied with direct current, a battery V, for example a dry cell battery can be arranged to supply the required negative voltage.
The terminals 1 and 9 are connected by means of external lines for direct current supply to the positive and negative pole of a storage battery, while the terminal 12 is connected to the metal parts of the box.
For direct current supply, three brackets Bi, B2 and Bs are provided, which provide the mutual connection of terminals 1, 2, 3 or terminals 4, 5, 6 or terminals 9 and 10. If you wish to feed the device exclusively with alternating current, the three brackets Bi, B2 and B3 are removed and terminals 1-9 and terminal 14 of the device are connected to the same number of terminals of the device W arranged opposite them in the drawing .
The two lines that are connected to terminals 1 and 9 are in this case, instead of the accumulator battery, directly connected to the AC network, whereby the primary winding 20 of the transformer is live. This transformer has three secondary windings 21, 22 and 23. The winding 21 supplies current to a circuit in which the rectifier 24, as well as flat capacitors 29, 30, 31 and 32 and impedances in the form of ohms Resistors 25, 26, 27 and 28 are located. A line leads from the end of the resistor 28 to the terminal 33, which is connected to the terminal 14, in which case the battery V can be dispensed with to deliver the voltage before.
In both cases, with direct current supply. both as with AC supply of the tubes, the anode battery or the power supply unit to be used in place of this battery is connected to the terminals 13, 8 and 11 with potentials decreasing in this order.
The transformer winding 22, which is provided with a central branch, provides the heating current for the cathode of the rectifier 24 and for the cathodes of the high frequency tube and the end tube of the receiving device. The transformer winding 23 supplies the heating current for the detector which, in contrast to the other two tubes, is heated indirectly and which therefore generally has to be fed with a different voltage. FIGS. 2 and 3 show two views of the same device, in which alternating current feed is used in FIG. 2 and direct current feed in FIG. 3.
Of this device, only the high-frequency tube 40, the detector tube 41 and the end tube 42, as well as the low-frequency transformer 43 and in one case the device W with the connecting contacts, in the other case the bias battery V are shown.
From Fig. 2 it can be seen that the various contacts 1, 2, 3, etc. of the receiving device are largely connected to opposite contacts of the device W, while in Fig. 3 the various contacts of the (1 device in groups by the three brackets Bi, B2 and Ba are connected.
The device W has been given such a shape that it, including the rectifier tube G, has almost the same dimensions as the bias battery V and can therefore be conveniently placed in its place.
