Device for transferring groups of oval cigarettes to a packaging station. The invention relates to a device for transferring groups of oval cigarettes to a packaging point.- It is. known to place the individual cigarettes on a conveyor belt and to guide this against an inclined stop on which the cigarettes stand up, with an upper cover surface which prevents the cigarettes from overturning, so that the inclined storage area is the end a channel forms in which the group of cigarettes collects.
The device forming the subject of the invention, through which groups of oval cigarettes collected in this way can be transferred to the packaging point, has a plunger which is moved longitudinally in the cigarette and is carried by a pivotable arm and steered under the action of a spring - The support arm is controlled by a control rail under tension of the spring so that the support arm enters a slot in the channel, the pusher taking the group of cigarettes in the egg channel with it and transporting it to the packaging point, whereupon the support arm, following the course of its spring,
swings out and removes the plunger from the path of the cigarettes so that it can walk past the packaging box.
In this way, the plunger can be immersed in the feed path of the cigarette at will, thereby allowing the full plunger to be effective on the cigarette group for the entire duration of the feed work without any breakthroughs in the path.
If the ram carrier is arranged on an endless belt or chain, the strands of which run parallel to the ram feed direction, then the ram can be controlled in the desired manner in continuous operation with the aid of a simple guide rail.
The drawing shows an embodiment example of the device, namely Fig. 1 is a vertical cross-section along the line 1-1 of Fig. 2, which is a perpendicular cross-section along the line 2-2 of Fig. 1; Figs. 3 to 5 are special representations.
The oval cigarettes Z are advanced on the conveyor track 1 to the right in the sense of Fig. 1 until the first cigarette arrives at the inclined storage surface 2, wel. before forms the end of the conveyor track. The next cigarette lies against the first cigarette erected on the storage area, the top cover 3 preventing the cigarettes from beating over. As the individual cigarettes pass by, a nose 5 carried by a spring 4 is pushed under by a recess 6 in the guide track 1.
If, however, a group of cigarettes has accumulated, then the nose 5 jumps in, that is to say it reaches the position shown in A11 .. 1, where it has a blocking effect and holds the group together. Of course, the previously united group can also be pushed as a whole into the channel in the position shown.
It is now a matter of removing the group of cigarettes from the channel, the bottom of which is formed by the guide track 1 and the top of which is formed by the cover 3. This is done with the help of a plunger 7, which is shown particularly in Figs. 3 and 4 and is indicated in Fig. 1, behind the cigarette group Z, by partially broken lines. This ram forms a type of rail and is carried by an arm 8 which is rotatably mounted at 9 on a support piece 40.
A spring 12 attached to the support piece at 11 engages the support arm 8 at 13 and tends to always pull it upwards. The support piece 1o is (see Fig. Z) attached to two parallel chains 14 and 15 with its pegs 16, 17. Both chains are endless chains. The lower chain 14 runs over sprockets 18, one of which is shown in FIGS.
The chain wheel 18 is wedged on the shaft 13 and mounted with its hub ZO in the bearing 21. This camp is formed by a Sehale 22, which includes the Ket tenrad 18 and with its con centric to the sprocket 18 lying edge 23 serves as a guide for the chain 15.
When the carrier 10 runs along the horizontal path of the upper chain strand, a guide roller 24 mounted on the support arm 8 runs against a control rail 25 (which is indicated in FIG. 2 by dashed lines). This guide rail causes the pivoting of the 'Pragarmes 8, which is pulled upwards by its spring 12, into the horizontal position.
In this position, the guide arm 8 enters a slot at the head end of the channel in which the group of oval cigarettes is located, as can be seen from FIG. The entire surface of the pusher bar 7 rests against the head ends of the cigarettes and takes the entire group along the cigarette lengthwise guide to the packaging point.
As soon as the plunger has done its work, the control rail 12 advertises that the arm 8 is released again from the action of its spring 12, so that the plunger rail is removed from the path of the cigarette group and can stroke over the packaging box. If the ram then returns via the conveyor track 1, it will already find a new group of cigarettes. It goes without saying that several tappets can be arranged one behind the other at corresponding intervals on the endless chain.
