Absorption chiller, especially for fine operation. In order to avoid each time ignition of the heater in gas-heated absorption refrigeration machines, it is known to use an ignition device connected to the main gas line. Such training from the heater has various disadvantages, some of which are highlighted below.
Since the pilot flame can be unintentionally extinguished or put out of operation when the gas supply is shut off, the option of either lighting the pilot flame or the main flame from outside must be retained. This requires a certain accessibility of the heating device, a more or less open design of the burner, which in turn means that combustion products can escape to the outside and the gas smell has an annoying effect on the environment. This can especially be the case during the time when there is no heating and only the pilot flame is burning when the stove has cooled down considerably.
Even if the heater is located inside the cooker, when the stove is cold and the outside environment is warm, a downward draft is generated, which instead of allowing the combustion products of the pilot flame to escape through the chimney, leads into the room in which the refrigerator is installed . Furthermore, the gas ignition flame fed by the main line is inefficient in that it has to burn constantly in order to be used only once or a few times a day, and can be extinguished by a blast of air, so that operation is also very unsafe.
The invention aims to avoid these disadvantages and consists in the fact that the refrigeration machine is heated by gas, while the heating is switched on by an electric ignition device arranged in the vicinity of the gas flame. The ignition device can be switched on depending on the position of the control element for the coolant supply. They can be switched off as a function of the temperature in the gas exhaust duct of the heating device. The restart of the electrical ignition device can also be dependent on the temperature in the gas outlet duct of the heating device.
An embodiment of the subject invention is on the drawing in application to an intermittently operating absorption refrigeration machine is shown schematically, with the parts and details of the refrigeration machine not considered necessary for understanding the invention are allowed wegge.
1 is the cooker absorber, which is heated by a gas burner 2. 3 is the electrical ignition device arranged in the vicinity of the gas flame, 4 is the gas line in which the closing elements 5 and 6 are installed. The actual cooking vessel 7 is completely enclosed by an outer insulation 8, and provided on the inside with a cladding 9, to which the smoke exhaust duct 10 connects. The cooling device is designed as a jacket cooling 11, and arranged between the insulation 8 and the outer wall of the cooker 7 in a sealed manner.
The coolant that comes through line 12, for example from the condenser, can pass through the control element 13 either, as shown in solid lines, through the line 14 into the tilting cup 15 or through the line 16 into the cooling device 11 of the cooker absorber and from there through the Line 17 are passed into the drain 18. The control member 13 can either be operated by a handwheel or automatically brought into the operating position by some other device and switched off again from the same. The tilting cup 15 is connected on the one hand to the gas tap 5 and on the other hand to a mercury switch 19 and is held in its closed position by a spring 20.
For operating the gas tap 6, which is also normally closed under the action of a spring 21, a solenoid 22 is provided. The switching on of the electrical Zündvor device 3 now takes place on the one hand at the beginning of a cooking period by the switch 19, on the other hand, the switching off takes place under the influence of a switch 24 connected to the thermostat 23, which also causes the ignition device to be switched on again.
The operation of the device is as follows: The initiation of a cooking period takes place by turning the control member 13 into the position shown by means of a handwheel, not shown. The water coming through the newspaper 12 is directed via the line 14 into the tilting cup 15, which is in the position shown in dash-dotted lines. The outlet 25 of the same does not allow all cooling water flowing through the line 14, which is why the cup fills up to the overflow 26 and, against the action of the spring 20, tips over into the position shown in full lines.
In this case, not only the cock 5 is opened, but the mercury switch 19 closes the circuit for the ignition advance indicated by arrows. The current thus flows through the line 27, the switch 19 into the line 28, which is tapped at two points to which the coils 29 and 30 are connected. From there the current flows on the one hand through the line 31, on the other hand through the line 32 and the contact 40 of the switch 24 to the confluence point 33, then through the line 34 into the ignition device 3, where the wire is made to glow, and back through the line 35 and 36.
At the same time, under the action of the current in the coils 29 and 30, the armature 37 is pulled against the action of the spring 21 and the cock 6 connected to it has been opened. When the gas arrives in the burner, the ignition device 3 is already switched on; so that the inflowing gas can ignite immediately. The air required for combustion can flow in through the channels 41 and the liquid condensation and combustion products can flow out through the outlet 42. A short time after the heating system has been started up, the combustion gases begin to act on the thermostat 23.
The same can be set in such a way that it is influenced by the temperature in the smoke exhaust duct 10, for example if it is approx. 50 to 60.degree. The contact 40 is pushed to the right from the position shown in solid lines into the dotted line so that the line 34 is directly short-circuited with the line 35 and the power supply to the ignition device 3 is thus switched off. It is also thereby switched out the lower spiral 30 of the solenoid. While the spiral 29 consists of thin, long wire and has great resistance, the spiral 30 consists of thick wire and a small number of turns.
This disposition has the consequence that when the spirals 29 and 30 are connected in parallel and an ignition device is connected behind them, a strong current passes through which is able to make the heating wire glow quickly, whereas when the ignition device and thus the spiral 30 are switched off, only a weak current passes flows through the spiral 29, which is just able to keep the gas tap 6 open against the action of the spring 21.
In the event of a disturbance in the electrical network, the solenoid 22 is de-energized, so that the valve 6 is closed by the spring 21 and thus the outflow of gas is made impossible without the ignition device being in operation. If, for example, there was an interruption in the gas supply during operation without either of the organs 5 or 6 being closed, the flame would simply go out, as is the case with known devices. With an ignition device that is also dureb. If the flow of heating gas is fed, the pilot flame would of course also be extinguished.
If after some time the gas is supplied correctly, the pilot flame must be re-ignited before the apparatus can function. If an unintentional interruption in the gas supply occurs in an apparatus built according to the drawing, the temperature in the flue duct 10 is lower due to the extinguishing of the gas flame and the contact 40, influenced by the thermostat, comes into the drawn position, i.e. it closes the ignition circuit through which the ignition device is activated and continues to glow until the gas is supplied again or the machine is switched off in such a way that the organs 5 and 6 are also closed.
If the organs 5 and 6 are properly closed, there is no need for a pilot flame to continue burning and the stove can have a closed embodiment that does not allow the passage of combustion gases.
The formation of the ignition device can of course also take place in a different way than is shown in the drawing. Significant advantages are achieved in that it can be currentless during the absorption period, and only either at the beginning of each heating period or only during the same, i.e. only for a short time of the day, and that the ignition device also glows after any interruption in the gas - or the supply of electricity without external intervention (lighting with a match) can automatically come into operation when the power supply is restored.
In this way, of course, not only is the service life of the ignition device, which causes safe func tioning of the refrigeration machine, extended, but the operation of the refrigeration machine is made much easier.
