Description
Yorriehtung for the automatic appearance of the direction indicator of i-motor vehicles when turning the steering wheel backwards. The invention relates to a device for automatically switching off the direction indicator of Kraftfahrzeu conditions when turning the steering wheel back.
The advantage of the invention is that errors are eliminated, which can arise from the forgetfulness of the driver by forgetting to turn off the indicator after use.
According to the invention, said device has a movable body which is brought out of its rest position by setting the steering wheel in the curve to be traveled, automatically returns to its rest position when the steering wheel is turned back and thereby causes the direction switch to be switched off.
The figures show an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely: Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of the subject matter of the invention, and Fig. 2 shows the manner in which the switch is attached to the control rod.
1 and 2 are the two direction indicators. 3 is the power source and 4 is the total metal mass of the vehicle. The power source 3 is connected to the ground 4 via the line 5 and via the line 6 to an operating lever 7. 8 and 9 are contacts which are connected to the two travel direction indicators 1 and 2 via the lines 10 and 11 . As soon as the operating lever 7 is pivoted to the right or left about its pivot point 12, it comes into contact with one of the two con tacts 8 and 9 and in a corre sponding manner the current is closed by one or the other direction indicator.
For the purpose of automatic switching off of the operating lever, the release device is provided, which consists of a housing 13 which is attached to the control rod of the steering wheel 14. The housing takes inside the ball 15 and at the same time two as a double lever ausgebil Dete contact lever 16 on. 17 is an intermediate wall on which the ball 15 runs.
18 and 19 are contacts which are connected via lines 20 and 21 to contacts 22 and 23. 25 is an electromagnet which is connected to the ground of the motor vehicle via line 26 and to contact levers 16 via line 27. 28 are springs which are intended to pull the contact levers 16 back into their central position.
The mode of operation of the automatic switch-off device is as follows if the right direction indicator 2 would be operated for example.
The switch-off device is attached below the steering wheel as shown in FIG. There will be a right turn of the driving tool due to the inclined position of the housing 13 now occurring, the ball 15 in the housing 13 to the right in the point-overed position. It occurs over the right contact lever 16, so that the sen lower end goes to the left. If the motor vehicle then drives straight ahead again, the lower end of the contact lever is moved to the right in that the ball moves to the left as a result of the shift in the center of gravity.
The contact lever comes into contact with the contact 19 and the circuit is closed via line 21, because in these cases the operating lever 7 was still in its right position since the right direction indicator 2 was switched on. The electromagnet 25 is energized and pulls the operating lever 7 back into its central position as shown in FIG. 1, so that the direction indicator is switched out.
The corresponding process takes place with the other direction indicator when the operating lever 7 has been moved to the left.
