Description

  

  Vorrichtung zur Umsetzung von Alkali- und     Erdalkaliamalgamen    behufs Herstellung  von Alkali- und     Erdalkalihydroxyden.       Es wurde gefunden, dass die Umsetzung  von Amalgamen mit Wasser behufs Her  stellung von Alkali- und     Erdalkalihydroxyden     dadurch erheblich beschleunigt werden kann,  dass man die zur Mischung des Amalgams  mit dem Wasser dienende     Rührvorrichtung     mindestens zu -einem überwiegenden Teil aus  elektrisch leitfähigem Kohlenstoff, wie Kohle,  Koks, Graphit     eto.    oder aus einer Vereini  gung dieser Stoffe untereinander herstellt,  zweckmässig in Verbindung mit einem Metall,  das durch Natronlauge und Amalgam nicht  angegriffen wird, zum Beispiel Metallegie  rungen aus Eisen,

   Chrom und Nickel als  Hauptbestandteile.  



  Zweckmässig gestaltet man die     Rührvor-          richtung    so aus, dass sie gleichzeitig zur Fort  bewegung des Amalgams durch die Zellen  und das Zersetzungsgefäss dienen kann; sie  hat dann den ganz erheblichen Vorteil einer  intensiven Berührung von Kohle mit Amal  gam und dem Wasser, ohne dass Störungen  im Betriebe der Apparatur auftreten können,  wie sie zum Beispiel stets bei Einrichtungen    stattfinden, in denen das     Fortbewegungsorgan     des Amalgams nur zu einem ganz geringen  Teil aus Kohle hergestellt ist.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Vorrichtung zum Umsetzen von Alkali- und Erdalkaliamalgamen behufs Herstellung von Alkali- und Er-dalkalihydroxyden, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie eine Rührvorrichtung, die mindestens zu einem überwiegenden Teil aus elektrisch leitfähigem Kohlenstoff besteht, aufweist. UNTERANSPRUCH: Vorrichtung nach Patentanspruch, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Rührvorrichtung aus elektrisch leitfähigem Kohlenstoff in Verbin dung mit Metall, das nicht durch Natron lauge und Amalgam angegriffen wird, besteht.
