Anti-microphonic shield for electron tubes. The invention relates to an anti-microphonic shield for electron tubes or thermionic valves, such as those used in radio systems, for example, and the purpose of the invention is to limit the microphonic effect of such tubes and the interaction of a number of tubes with one another, when they are used together.
The modern types of electron tubes are extremely sensitive to vibrations, so that it is customary to arrange the stirrer in a flexible holder, and it has been proposed to enclose the valve in a rigid housing from which the valve is secured by short bands of rubber is separated in order to isolate the electrodes and supports in your valve from external mechanical disturbances. It has also already been proposed to protect the glass container of a tube against damage by surrounding it with a rigid cylinder which is attached to a suitable base and lined with soft material.
In practice, however, it has been shown that when an electric current is sent through an electron tube, the vibration or vibration occurs in the glass of the tube itself and this vibration or vibration causes a reaction to occur either in the radio system itself or between your loudspeaker and the audio frequency tubes. The present invention is concerned with this reaction; it has been shown that it can be suppressed to a large extent by dampening the microphonic effect of the glass of the tubes.
According to the present invention, the anti-microphonic shield is designed so that it externally surrounds substantially the entire dome and the body of the tube and adheres firmly to it so as to dampen the vibrations of the tube.
In the drawings, FIG. 1 shows a side view of an embodiment of the shield according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a plan view thereof, FIG. 8 shows a view of this shield seen from below, FIG
