Beim Ausbleiben der Brennerflamme während des Betriebes des Motors 1 wird beim plötzlichen Sinken der Temperatur der Heizspule 18 durch die kühle Luft des Ventilators das Bourdonrohr 16 sich zusam menziehen und den Stromkreis durch den kippbaren Röhrenschalter 3,0' unterbrechen, so dass dann der ganze Strom durch die Heizspule geht. Bei;
Electrically operated and thermostatically controlled burner for idle fuels. The subject of the present invention is an electromotive operated and thermosta table controlled burner for liquid fuels. The same has a safety device that is switched into the circuit of the electric motor operating the burner. This safety device consists of a timer and a thermostat.
The latter is actuated by an element which is located near the burner flame and is influenced by it. The thermostat and the timer are designed and connected in such a way that if the burner flame is absent, the electric motor circuit is interrupted by the timer.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely: FIG. 1 shows an oil burner in a side view, partially in section, FIG. 2 shows the end of the oil burner lying in a fire pot in a diagram, FIG. 3 shows a detail of FIG , Fig. 4 shows a switch box in rear view, Fig. 5 shows a detail of a time switch element on a larger scale, Fig. 6 shows the switch box in front view,
7 shows a detail of a heating element on a larger scale, and FIG. 8 shows the circuit diagram of the burner with safety device.
The burner device includes an elec tric motor 1, which has a shaft 1 ', on one end of which a fan housed in a housing 2 is placed. With the help of this fan air is un under pressure through a line 3, which goes through the walls 4 of the furnace, the fire pot 5 is supplied. At the other end of the motor shaft 1 ', an oil pump is mounted in a housing 6, which feeds the 01 from a container through a filter 7, the pressure valve 8 and an oil line 9 supported centrally in the pipe 3 to a nozzle 10, which is located nearby the fire pot is attached.
The air, which is pressed in through the pipe 3, is given a spiral movement by wings 11, which are mounted somewhat behind the burner nozzle 10 on the oil line 9, whereby the 01 emerging from the nozzle is carried along and mixed. On the engine housing 1 an ignition coil is also placed in a box 12, which is connected to a spark plug in front of the nozzle 10 by a double line 12 'laid in the air pipe 3.
On the fan box 2, a switch box 13 is placed, which contains the safety device, namely ge listen to the latter a timer element housed in a housing 14, which is installed on the inside of the switch box 13, and a thermostat element placed in a housing 15 , which is attached to the outside of the switch box 13.
The thermostatic element has a Bourdon tube or pressure roller 16, which is a.ngesclilossen through a tube 17 to a heating coil 18, which is housed in a box 1.g at the end of the tube 3, so that it is exposed to the heat of the burner flame and the Fire pot is exposed. The other end 20 of the spool 18 goes back through the box 19 and is closed (Fig. 3).
In the coil 18, a heating fluid is placed under which the Bourdon tube according to the temperature of the fire pot pulls together or expands. In order to prevent the heating coil from being destroyed if the fire pot temperature is excessive and to ensure that it cools down quickly when the burner is extinguished, an air hole 21 is made on the bottom of the air line 3 the box 19 opens between the rear wall and the coil 18 and which is expediently formed by pressing out a tongue 22 serving as a steering wall from the bottom of the air line 3.
If there is no flame while the motor continues to drive the fan, the cold, fresh air from the line 3 cools the heating coil 18 very quickly, so that the Bourdon tube contracts accordingly.
The other free end of the Bourdon tube is connected by a link 51 to a lever 522, one end of which is hinged to the housing 15 and the free end is connected to a link 53. The handlebar 53 has a slot 56 in which a fastening screw 55 sits, which is also inserted into a slot in the holder 5-1 (, ini, a.gt and so on the handlebar 53 through the Bourdon tube 16, the handlebar 51 and the lever 52 transmits movements to the holder 54.
By means of a spring 5 ″ which is fastened to the end of the steering mechanism 53 opposite the slot 56, the fastening screw 55 is held generally in contact with the inner end of the slot 56, as is illustrated by tens of 7. At the.
Holder 5.1. is, (-in mercury tubes-, switch 3i-) 'with two clamps at one end befe @ t: in1 :. A counterweight 4 (.) 'Is attached to the tube switch 30', which tries to hold it in the position in which the mercury is in the end facing away from the clamps and the clamps are isolated from one another.
If the glass Bourdon tube 16 expands around the heating coil 1.8 as a result of an increase in temperature, this change in length is transferred to the roller holder 30 ', which is rotated into the position in which the two contacts are electrically conductive binds.
If, on the other hand, the Bourdon tube 16 is pulled together as a result of a temperature decrease, the tube switch 30 'is flipped into the opposite position and the two contacts are again isolated from one another.
When the Bourdon tube 1.6 expands beyond that amount which is sufficient to actuate the switch 30 ′ zii, the tension of the spring 53 ′ is overcome and another. Movement of the handlebar 53 is made possible until the fastening screw 55 strikes the other end of the slot 56. It is expedient to provide a pointer 57 at the free end of the lever 52 which moves over a scale 58 which is attached to the plate 54 of the tube switch 30 '.
The spring 53 'between the fastening screw 55 and the dial 58 is calibrated and the dial 58 is divided so that it indicates the temperatures above which the tube switch 30' is operated. The . The outer surface of the housing 15 (FIG. 6) is provided with an opening through which the pointer and the dial are visible and with the aid of which the temperature of the fire pot can be read when the burner is in operation.
Tests have shown that the burner works most efficiently and economically between certain temperatures, so that by observing the temperature of the fire pot on the dial, the oil inlet valve can be set in such a way that the burner operates in the most economical manner. The time switching element housed in the housing 14 has a mercury switch 30 with two terminals at one end, so that when the tube is tilted into the position shown in Fig. 5 and 8 with full lines, the circuit between the terminals is closed by the mercury in the tube becomes.
One terminal is connected to the line 24 a (FIG. 8) and the other terminal by a flexible line 31 to a clamping screw 32 of the housing 14. The tube 30 is held by a plate 33 which is swingably attached to the housing and has a pawl-like extension 34 which hangs down and with which the teeth of a ratchet wheel 35 cooperate which is attached to a pin 36 which is seated in a cap 37 which contains a solder.
A wire 38 is wound around the cap 37, one end of which is connected to the clamping screw 32, while the other end terminates at the clamping screw 39 of the housing. A weight 40 carried by the tube holding plate 33 usually tilts the tube 3: 0 so that the mercury interrupts the flow if the spring 41 is between the oscillating plate 33 and the housing 14, which is usually the tube 30 pulls into the open position, should fail or be damaged.
The broken line GE in Fig. 5 shows the position of the tube in the event that the circuit is interrupted by the motor and the pawl 34 has come out of engagement with the locking wheel 35. The switch is set so that the circuit is closed by pressing the pawl 34 down so that it can pass the teeth of the ratchet wheel 35, and only engages in the latter: after the tube 30 has tilted "as in FIG Fig. 5 is shown in solid lines, then the tube 30 will keep ge by the cold solder in the cap 37.
In this position, the tube 30 is held until the current flowing through the line 38 has generated sufficient heat to melt the solder. At this moment the ratchet wheel 35 is resp. Through the spring 41. the weight 40 is rotated, the pawl 34 of the plate 33 is released and the tube 30 is pressed into that position in which the two contacts are isolated from one another, which is illustrated by the dashed position in FIG. The heat generated can be fixed by the number of turns of the line 38.
With the thermocouple 15 of the safety device, the timer element 14 cooperates, which, when actuated once, interrupts the circuit from the mains through the motor and also cuts off the oil supply to the burner until it has been set again by hand.
The mains current is introduced into the control box 13 with the help of the lines 24 and 25, which are connected to a lever switch 25 '(Fig. 4). From the lever switch 25 'from a line 23 leads to the box 12 and. from there to motor 1. The other pole of the lever switch 25 'is connected by the line 24' to a room thermostat 26, as shown in FIG. 8, from which a line 24 "leads to a boiler controller 27, the latter to the interior the furnace or the boiler in hot water systems.
A line 24a connects the boiler controller 27 to one terminal of the Q-tube switch 30 of the time switch element, the second terminal of which is connected to the terminal 32 through the line 31. The terminals 32 and 39 of the Zeitsehaltelementes are through lines 50 respectively. 50 'connected to the terminals of the thermostat tube switch 30'. A line 241) also leads from terminal 39 to switch box 12 and to motor 1.
When the switch 25 'is opened or the room thermostat 26, the boiler controller 27 or the safety device is activated, the circuit through the motor is interrupted, so that the oil supply by the pump driven by the motor 1 after the nozzle is cut off becomes. However, the burner will re-ignite when the knife switch 25 'is closed or when the room thermostat 26 or the boiler regulator 7 are actuated.
But the safety device must be operated by hand after the circuit has been interrupted before the circuit of the motor 1 can be closed again. Because 'the tube switch 30' bridges the heating coil 38 through the lines 50 and '50', when the switch 30 'is closed, only a low current, which is insufficient, passes through the heating coil 38 to melt the solder.
Only when the current through the tube switch 30 'is interrupted does the entire mains current go through the heating coil 38, so that enough heat is generated to melt the solder and release the pawl, so that the spring 41, respectively. the weight 40 tilts the tube 30 and breaks the circuit to the motor. The heating element regulates the effect of the timer element. On the other hand, the heating element is regulated by the heat of the burner flame and the fire pot.
When the switch 25 'is closed and the time switch element is set, the mains current goes through the thermostat 26 and the boiler controller 2 7 after the time switching element, which, when it has been brought into the closed position, the current after the tube switch 30, through the Lei device 38 to the engine 1 and back via the line 23 to the switch 25 'through because the heating coil 18 is cold and the heat holder 30' is in the open position. So the motor can do the fan, the oil pump. and start the ignition coil so that the flame at the nozzle is ignited immediately.
The time switch element has been regulated in the manner described so that the heat of the burner and the fire pot has increased the temperature of the heating coil 18 enough to pull the switch 30 'of the heating element into the closed position before enough current passes through the heating coil 38 has gone to release the switching element of the time switch element, and as long as the burner flame remains lit, most of the current goes through the switch 30 'of the heating element.
The thermostat 26 or the boiler controller 27 interrupts the electrical circuit and stops the motor, which immediately cuts off the supply of oil to the burner through the oil pump and the air from the ventila tor, so that the heating coil 38 cools down and the Bourdon tube 16 pulls the switch of the heating element to the open position. If, however, the circuit is interrupted, the timer element of the safety switch is not affected, so that when the thermostat 26 or the boiler controller 27 is operated to close the circuit, the parts act in the manner described when the switch 25 'is closed .
If there is no burner flame during operation of the motor 1, the Bourdon tube 16 will pull together when the temperature of the heating coil 18 suddenly drops due to the cool air of the fan and the circuit through the tiltable tube switch 3.0 'will be interrupted, so that the entire current goes through the heating coil. At;
If the burner flame continues to fail, the current going through the line 38 around the solder cap triggers the switching element of the timer, so that the circuit is interrupted, the motor is shut down and the oil supply to the nozzle is interrupted. Should the burner flame ignite before the timer element is actuated, the switch 30 'of the heating element closes and most of the current goes through it as before.
By changing the number of turns of the line 38, the amount of heat generated can change when all the current goes through, which in turn determines the time that is consumed between the Un interruption of the current through the heat element and the melting of the solder to break the circuit through the motor with the switch of the timer element.
