Verfahren zur Herstellung von kolorierten Bromölumdrueken. Durch vorliegendes Verfahren soll es er möglicht werden, vielfarbige Bromölum.druck- bilder ohne besondere Kenntnisse von jedem einfachen Negativ in einfacher und sicherer Weise herstellen zu können.
Gemäss' dem Verfahren wird ein von einer Bromöldruckmatrize auf Papier hergestellter Umdruck bemalt und nach dem Trocknen mit einer durchsichtigen Harzlösung überzogen, auf welchen Überzug nach dem Trocknen dann weitere Umdrucke von der Bromöl- matrize gemacht werden.
Das Verfahren kann beispielsweise wie folgt ausgeführt werden: Eine in bekannter Weise hergestellt Bromöldruckmatrize wird mit Bromölfarbe hauchartig eingefärbt und dann auf Um druckpapier umgedruckt. Dieser Umdruck soll so zart sein, dass nur die Konturen des Bildes eben eisichtbar sind. Das umgedruckte Bild wird nun mit einem Abreibpulver über rieben, um es für die Annahme von Aqua rellfarben empfindlich zu machen, und dann mit Aquarellfarben koloriert.
Es braucht hierbei auf Tonwerte keine Rücksicht ge nommen zu werden, sondern man übermalt, zum Beispiel bei einem Porträt, die Haare, daS Gesicht, die Kleidung mit der dafür pas senden Farbe ganz gleichmässig, ohne Rück sicht auf Schattenpartien. Nach dem Trock nen der Farbe wird das Bild mit einer Lö sung von Schellack, Zaponlaok und Sandarak in absolutem Alkohol bestrichen, um das aquarellierte Bild zu fixieren und das fixierte Bild zur Aufnahme von weiteren Umdrucken von der Bromöldruckmatrize empfänglich zu machen,
da ohne das Auf bringen der Harzlösung beim Auflegen der nassen Bromöldruckmatrizie die Aquarellfarbe sich wieder auflösen und an der Matrize hängen bleiben würde. Durch Aufbringen von zwei oder drei weiteren Umdrucken von der Bromöldruckmatrize auf das so behandelte Bild kommen dann alle Details der Auf nahme mit allen Tonwerten zum Vorschein.
,Statt mit Aquarellfarbe könnte man den ersten Umdruck auch mit Temperafarbe be malen. Die verwendete Harzlösung enthält zweckmässig auf 400 gr absoluten Alkohol \?0 gr Schellack, 5 gr Zaponlaek und 5 gr Sandarak.
Man hat bereits versucht, den ersten Um druck mit Farbstiften oder mit Aquarell farbe, der etwas Ochsengalle zugesetzt war, zu bemalen; diese Massnahmen ergaben aber nicht den gewünschten Erfolg.

After the paint has dried, the picture is coated with a solution of shellac, zaponlaok and sandarak in absolute alcohol in order to fix the watercolor picture and to make the fixed picture receptive to further transfers from the bromine oil printing matrix,
because without the resin solution being applied when the wet bromine oil pressure matrix is applied, the watercolor paint would dissolve again and stick to the matrix. By applying two or three further transfers from the bromine oil printing matrix to the image treated in this way, all the details of the recording with all the tonal values come to light.
'Instead of using watercolors, you could paint the first transfer with tempera paint. The resin solution used appropriately contains 400 grams of absolute alcohol \? 0 grams of shellac, 5 grams of zaponlaek and 5 grams of sandarak.
Attempts have already been made to paint the first transfer with colored pencils or with watercolors to which a little ox bile was added; however, these measures did not produce the desired result.
