Description

Process for the production of Druelitypeno According to the invention, printing types are produced by inserting a metal into a die in such a way that the finest details of the die are filled, and that the structure of the molded piece produced in this way is pressed into the mold to increase the wear resistance is compressed.

The method is used with advantage in the production of printing blocks, type wheels and type drums for calculators and similar 1 'asohinen, which must withstand a large number of operations without noticeably wear. The production of such types has hitherto caused difficulties, since it was not possible to produce types with high wear resistance using the previously customary method.

It is possible to produce a type by injection molding, by electroplating or by a cold spray process (Schoop, Metalizer) in which all the fine details of the die can be found, but the metals that can be used for these processes are relatively soft, thus have only a low wear resistance.

It has already been proposed to press the type cast in the usual way into the die for the production of stamps, but this method again only fulfills one condition, namely achieving a high level of wear resistance, while the other condition, namely working out all the subtleties the die, remains unfulfilled. Only when both conditions are met, namely the molding of all the fineness of the die in the finished piece, and the subsequent consolidation of the structure, for example by rolling or pressing the finished piece into the die, results in a printing type that meets all requirements.
