Elektrischer Kondensator.
Electric capacitor. In electrical engineering (high voltage technology, measurement technology, radio technology), electrical capacitors, mostly called rotary capacitors, whose capacitance can be changed, are often used. Constructions are already known in which the capacity can be changed linearly within certain limits; However, there is still a lack of constructions whose capacity can be changed exactly between the value zero and a final value given by the construction. The value zero is understood here in the strictest sense. In the accompanying drawings, for example, three embodiments of the subject invention are shown.
In Fig. 1, 1 is a main occupancy; between it and the main occupancy 2, when the capacitor is in the electrically excited state, the electrical field which determines the capacitance of the capacitor is formed. The assignments are intended as cylindrical surfaces in the figure. It is known that the capacitance between two concentric cylinder surfaces depends only on the length of the cylinder, apart from the dielectric constant of the dielectric and the ratio of the cylinder radii.
This length is now made variable and since the capacitance of the capacitor is regulated that the inner cylinder, separated by a small air gap, two auxiliary assignments 3 can move axially ver. If these two auxiliary assignments touch each other at their edges, they completely cover the inner cylinder. The electric field is now only formed between the auxiliary occupancy 3 and the main occupancy 2 if it is ensured that the auxiliary occupancy is at the same electrical potential as the cylinder it encloses, but is electrically isolated from it.
On the main occupancy 1, which is connected through the lead wire 5 with the rest of the electrical device (circuit) in which the capacitor is to be used, no charge is flowing, so the capacity between it and the main occupancy 2 has become zero .
If you now turn the button e 9, which sits on the hollow, left and right-hand thread provided axis 4 "from which the main assignment 1 is electrically separated by the insulating spacers 8, the auxiliary assignments 3 move with their end edges from one another and thus release a certain length L of the surface of the main occupancy 1, from which, in this new position, an electrical field can then radially develop after the main occupancy 2, the charge value of which is supplied from the outside through a lead wire 5.
This charge value respectively. the capacitance of the capacitor changes when moving the auxiliary assignments 3 proportionally with the distance between the end edges.
In FIG. 1, 6 also means the feed point for the charges flowing onto the auxiliary assignments 3, which are conductively connected to the axle 4 by the nuts 10. These charges correspond to an electric field extending between the auxiliary occupancies 3 and the main occupancy 2, which, however, is only to be regarded as a shielding field for the field extending between the main occupancies 1 and 2 and the only field of interest for the capacity of this capacitor.
This screen field is intended to prevent the bending of the electric field lines, which extend from the main occupancy 1 to the main occupancy 2, and thereby achieve a precisely linear increase in capacity between the main occupancies 1 and 2 when expanding the edge distance of the auxiliary occupancy 3. The structural parts 11 mean insulating support pieces between the main occupancy 2 and the axis 4, while 12 are insulating arms attached to the main occupancy 2, which move in the slots of the main occupancy 2 and from which the distance of the auxiliary occupancy 2 can be read.
It is obvious that the main assignment 2 could also be covered by auxiliary assignments which are at the same potential with it. In Fig. 1 this group of help -. Assignments are not shown because they can be dispensed with in practically every case. To achieve the set goal, it is always only necessary to have one of the two main assignments covered by movable auxiliary assignments.
A constructive variant of the Ausfüh tion according to FIG. 1 is shown in FIG. With her only part of the auxiliary assignments 3 is movable, the other, however, fixed net angeord. This embodiment is technically simpler and more suitable if you want to make the total capacitance of the capacitor particularly large by connecting several individual capacitors in parallel, without getting too long in the axial direction. The inscribed reference numbers generally correspond to those of FIG. 1.
The auxiliary assignments 3 are of course at the same potential here as the associated main assignments 1 and \ ?. The charge flowing on this is of course isolated from the charge flowing on the auxiliary occupancy 3, which happens through the discharge lines 6.
3 shows the application of the concept of the invention to a rotary capacitor type as it has become naturalized in radio technology. Compared to the known constructions, it has the advantage that the capacity can be regulated down to the exact value zero. The auxiliary assignments 3 also consist of a fixed and a moving part. Moving the latter changes the capacity.
This type of capacitor can also be prepared for very high voltages or for particularly large capacitance values. For this purpose, a capacitor constructed according to FIGS. 1, 2 or 3 is placed in a meta-container and completely gas- and liquid-tight on the outside.
The design measures for this are generally known. If you now want to use the capacitor for high voltages, compressed air is injected into the casing jacket; if you want to achieve a particularly high capacity value, you will fill the envelope cylinder with oil.
This oil gets through the openings in the construction of the capacitor between the main assignments 1 and 2 and increases the capacitance value Aes of the capacitor due to its higher dielectric constant.
