Selbsttätige Sachstellvorrichtung an Bremsgestängen, insbesondere für
Eisenbahnbremsen.
Automatic adjustment device on brake rods, especially for
Railway brakes.
With the adjustment devices on brake rods that have been used up to now, even with those by means of which the clearances between the brake pads and the wagon wheels can both be enlarged and reduced, difficulties have arisen from the fact that as a result of the sudden reduction in the clearances when unloading the
Car not only did the stroke length of the brake piston remain below normal for a longer period of time, but it can also cause the car wheels to brake, and the brakes have to be pulled and released several times to adjust the clearance to their normal value.
The purpose of the present
The invention is to eliminate this disadvantage and a correct setting of the margins by a single braking operation to it.
The invention relates to such an automatic readjusting device in which BEZW for the purpose of enlargement. Reduction of the clearance a screw device is used, the rotational movement of which is dependent on a necessarily controlled locking device, and it is characterized in that the pitch of the thread of the
The screwing device is chosen so large that the screwing device is not self-locking, for the purpose of causing the brake linkage that occurs while the brake is being applied
Voltage, when the locking device is in the released position, an extension of the brake rod and thus a corresponding increase in the leeway.
An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows the schematic arrangement of the adjustment device in a brake linkage with
Brake cylinder; Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the adjusting device; 3 shows one end of the adjusting device with the movement transfer device attached and the flexible organ connected to it in the movement mechanism, the latter being drawn in a section; Fig. 4 shows a cross section along the line a-b in Fig. 2, seen in the direction of the arrows.
In Fig. 1, 1 designates a brake cylinder, for example for compressed air, and 2 the piston rod, which moves outward when compressed air is introduced into the cylinder. A brake cylinder lever 3 is hinged to a fixed pin on the brake cylinder 1, while a similar brake cylinder lever 4 is hinged to the piston rod.
Both levers are connected to one another by a connecting rod 5 which cannot be changed in length. When the brake piston rod moves outwards, the free ends of the brake cylinder levers will consequently approach one another, and this movement is used in a suitable manner to apply the brakes.
The movement required for readjustment is obtained from an angle lever 6, 7 which is rotatably attached to a pin 8 on the readjustment device (see also FIG. 3). One leg 6 is connected to a push rod 9 which is displaced towards one another when the brake cylinder levers 3 and 4 approach, and thereby rotates the angle lever 6, 7 about its axis 8. A flexible organ 10 is designed as part of the rod 9 and aims to cancel the transfer of movement to the angle lever 6, 7 when the resistance counteracting this movement becomes large enough to overcome the effect of the flexible organ, which in the present case is a helical spring (Fig. 3) is intended.
Continued approaching of the brake cylinder levers 3 and 4 therefore only causes the spring 10 to be compressed. The angle lever could of course also be actuated by pulling and the resilient element could have the shape of a tension spring.
The movement transferred to the adjusting device by the rod 9 is transmitted by the leg 7 of the angle lever to a crank 11 which is installed in the adjusting device in the manner described in more detail below.
An adjustment spindle 12 is provided with a thread, the pitch of which is so great that the screwing device is not self-locking; H. that a nut 13 cooperating with the spindle is subjected to a rotation when a sufficiently large pulling or pushing force acts on the spindle.
The spindle is expediently provided with a multiple thread. As can be seen from FIG. 1, the adjusting device forms a part in the brake linkage with which the braking movement is transferred from the piston located in the brake cylinder to the brake pads, and since the spindle 12, as shown in FIG.
2 shows, is firmly connected to a holder 14 for a rod of the brake linkage and the flutter 13 - although rotatable - but axially not displaceably connected to the other holder 15 for said rod, turning the spindle 12 with respect to the nut 13 becomes a Cause shortening or lengthening of the distance between the holders 14 and 15 and thus an increase or decrease in the clearances between the brake pads and the wagon wheels. It is of course irrelevant whether the spindle 12 or the aluminum nut 13 is rotated.
As FIG. 2 shows, the rod in which the clamping device is installed can have the shape of a Robres 16 to which the nut 13 is attached and in which the spindle 12 can be displaced in its longitudinal direction Robr forms a protective sleeve uni that part of the spindle which is on one side of the nut 13, while a similar protective sleeve 17 for the part of the spindle on the other side of the aluminum nut is connected to the FLalter 1X1 and engages over the pipe 16.
The locking device which determines the readjustment of the device is mounted in a sleeve or a housing 18 which is expediently connected to the one rod holder 15. A rod or shaft 19 is guided through the housing and mounted in a suitable manner and is firmly connected to one end of the tubular rod, that is to say to the nut 13 of the Naeli adjusting spindle. Within the
Housing 18 is the axis 19 with a
Disc or a flange 20 is provided, the end faces of which can bear against two stop surfaces 21 and 22 seen in the housing. In the one shown in the drawing
Position of the flange 20 is on the sohlagsfläohe 22 to.
In this position, the flange is held with the brake released by means of a powerful compression spring 23 which is built in the housing 18 and on the
Flange with the help of a ball bearing
24 acts to reduce the friction that occurs when the axis 19 rotates. A coupling sleeve 25 with a coupling flange 26 is rotatably mounted around a weaker part of the axis 19, which with
Ratchet teeth are provided, which cooperate with a corresponding ring gear 27 on the flange 20, which thus serves as the other coupling half. A weaker spring 28 always tries to bring the coupling halves 26 and 27 into engagement with one another.
The crank 11 is at least firmly connected to the coupling sleeve 25 with respect to rotation, and the movement of the rod 9 is then triggered by the flexible member
10 and the angle lever 6, 7 transferred.
For the inevitable control of the locking device formed by the clutch, two fixed stops are in the housing 18
29 are provided, which are intended to cooperate with corresponding projections 30 formed into pegs on the coupling half 26 (see also FIG. 4).
The stops 29 and the projections 30 are drawn at an angle on the sides facing each other, so that they can slide relatively easily on one another, the clutch being moved out by overcoming the force of the spring 28 (the one shown in FIG
Position) while the clutch is engaged with the aid of the spring as soon as the
Stops and projections are not located opposite one another (the position shown in FIG. 4).
When braking occurs two important forces for the operation of the device, namely on the one hand a force that can be called the adjustment force and occurs in the rod 9, and acts through the angle lever 6, 7 and the crank 11 on the coupling half 26 rotating , and on the other hand a tensile or compressive stress in the tubular rod 16 (depending on the type of installation of the adjusting device in the brake linkage), which stress is a function of the brake pressure. It should be called the braking voltage.
The readjusting force thus acts in a rotating manner on the coupling half 26, and when this is in engagement with the coupling half 27, the nut 13 is rotated as a result, provided that the brake tension has not reached such a level that the readjusting force is overcome, in which case the continued movement in the brake linkage in the form of a reserve force in the resilient member 10 is stored.
When the brakes are released, the stops 29 and the projections 30 are opposite one another and thus prevent engagement of the coupling halves 26 and 27 with one another, and when the clearances are the desired and the application of the brakes has progressed so far that the brake pads the car wheels touch, the crank 11 assumes a certain predetermined position in which the stops 29 and the projections 30 are shifted to one another so far that the coupling halves 26, 27 are in engagement with one another.
If these prerequisites are met, then when the brakes are continuously applied, a tension arises in the brake linkage and, as a result, a compression of the spring 23 with a consequent displacement of the coupling flange 20 so that it comes to rest against the stop surface 21, and as a result a Friction between these two organs which prevents the nut from turning further in relation to the spindle 12. Each further movement of the rod 9 is then stored in the flexible member 10.
If, on the other hand, the leeway should be too large, then - when the brake is applied and when the crank has reached the predetermined position - the brake tension has not yet been so great that the spring 23 is compressed and the coupling flange 20 against the stop sowing 21 Concern comes, so that the flutter 13 then receives a rotation from the crank 11, whereby the clearances are reduced.
However, if the leeway is too small, i.e. the brake pads are already in contact with the wagon wheels before the crank 11 has reached the predetermined position, a tension arises earlier in the brake linkage and the spindle 12, which compresses the spring 23 to such an extent that the Coupling flange 20 no longer rests on the stop surface 22 and since the coupling halves 26,27 are not yet in engagement with each other and the thread of the spindle 12 or nut 13 has such a steep slope that these organs are not self-locking, so must through the white - Longer stretches of the adjusting device an extension of this take place, whereby the leeway is accordingly increased.
The readjustment is therefore in both cases a function of the tension in the brake linkage or the point in time for the occurrence of a normal value of this tension corresponding to the spring 23, and consequently only e, in a single braking process is obviously required so that the leeway occurs in good time. the normal stress are brought into agreement, that is, they assume a corresponding normal size.
