Cigarette case with regulated openings. The object of the present invention is to cure smokers from the habit of smoking and relates to a cigarette case the opening of which is regulated, that is to say that it is possible only at times fixed in advance, so that by gradually increasing the time intervals during which opening of the case is impossible, the smoker gradually decreases the number of cigarettes smoked per day. A little effort of will will then be enough to cure him definitively of his smoking habit. Many people have sought to achieve the same goal by drugs and other means without obtaining practical results.
The object of the invention consists of the combination of a cigarette case, any watch and a mechanism which, controlled by the watch, makes it possible to open the case only at preset times (eg every half hour, hourly, every two hours etc.), and keep the case closed for the rest of the time. Thus, by way of example, the smoker can fix that he will smoke at nine o'clock, at ten o'clock, at eleven o'clock etc. Once the opening time has arrived, the mechanism makes this opening possible for a certain period of time fixed in advance, for example for a quarter of an hour.
In our example, the case can be opened from nine hours to nine hours and fifteen minutes, ten hours, ten hours and fifteen minutes and so on. On the other hand, from nine fifteen minutes to ten o'clock and from ten fifteen minutes to eleven o'clock and so on, the case will be rusty and cannot be opened by the smoker. It is easily understood that by increasing the duration of the periods during which the case is locked, the number of cigarettes smoked daily is reduced. If, on the other hand, the smoker has forgotten to put the watch back on, the watch will stop and, if this is not done at the time fixed for opening, - the case will remain closed.
It will then be necessary to wind the watch, wait for the hands to indicate the time fixed for opening so that the case can be opened. Once this is done, the smoker will reset the hands of the watch to the exact time by pressing with a lever on the time change axis, these organs being inside the clock. case and cannot be touched while the case is closed.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is presented, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing in which: FIGS. 1 and 2 are respectively an exterior view and an interior view of the positive device; Fig. 3 shows the open case and the mechanism partly covered with a protective cover; Figs. 4, 5, 6 are detail views of the mechanism in different positions; Figs. 7 and 8 are two end views of the mechanism in different positions. The case comprises the following elements: A winder 1, which controls the mechanism of the watch; a lever 2 articulated on an axis $ makes it possible to actuate an axis 4.
which, pushed from top to bottom, allows the hands to be set on time; 5 is an immobile ca dran, divided into hours; in front of the divisions of this dial can move a hand 6, carried by an axis 7. On this hand 6 is wedged a small toothed pinion not visible in the drawing, because it is located behind the dial 5. On this pinion meshes a small toothed wheel 8, rotating around its pivot 9. On the needle 6 is similarly wedged a cam which is not visible in the drawing.
A lever 10 which engages in a notch 24 of the latch 16 is articulated on a pivot 11 and biased by a spring 12 which presses on this lever and pushes it down. This spring is mounted on a screw 13. 14 re has a small pin lock 15.
A large latch 16 slides in pleats 17 and 18. The safety button 19 is biased by the spring 23 (fig. 4). 20 is the dial of the watch and 21 the mechanism of this watch; 22 is a lever to engage and trigger the strike of the watch if the latter is an alarm clock, which alerts the smoker by a ringing of the time when the case is opened;? 5 is a protective cover for the mechanism; 26 is an axis of articulation.
The device described above operates as follows: The watch is wound up every 21 hours as usual. By pressing button 19 the smoker can: open the case and place the cigarettes. He then sets the time interval after which he can smoke by proceeding as follows: a) With the finger, the small auxiliary toothed wheel 8 is rotated in the direction of the rotation of the needles of a watch (fig. 2). ).
The latter meshes with the pinion wedged on the axis of the needle 6, which can thus be stopped in front of the desired division of the immobile dial 5, according to the time at which we would like the case to be able to be opened in order to take a cigarette.
b) Lock 16 (fil-. 7) is pushed upwards. The small red worm 14 (fig. 6) is then moved forward and the latch 16 is thus prevented from returning to its place, as indicated on the figure. 5.
c) The cover _25 which protects the mechanism against the harmful action of nicotine is closed (fig. 3).
d) Push button 19 (fig. 4) and at the same time close the case. Note that you must push button 19 at the same time as you close the case, because button 19 pushes back the small latch 14 (fig. 4) and thus the latch 16 (fig. 6) is made free. When you stop pressing button 19 (fig. 6), the button returns to. its place. The same applies to the lock 14 which is placed behind 16 and 19 (fig. 4). The latter is thus blocked (see also fig. 8) and the cigarette case cannot be opened.
e) So that the opening of the case with these garettes is possible, it is necessary that the time fixed in advance by the smoker arrives.
At this moment, the end, located behind the dial 5 and not shown in the drawing, of the lever 10 is engaged by a cam integral with the needle 6. The lever 10 begins to pivot around its axis 11 and it pushes upwards the lock 16. The button 19 (fig. 6 and 7) is released. By pushing button 19, you can open the case.
Thanks to the. shape which is easy to establish by a thorn of the cam of the needle 6 and the end located behind the dial 5 of the lever 10, the latter remains in the same place for a determined time, for example for fifteen minutes and thus the cigarette case can be opened for a period of a quarter of an hour from the preset time for smoking. If the fu meur is busy at this time, he has enough time to open the case and take out a cigarette. After this quarter of an hour, the case locks automatically. It should be noted that by modifying the reciprocal shape of the cam of the needle 6 and of the end of the lever 10, located behind the dial 5, it is possible to increase or decrease this space of time by fifteen minutes during which the cigarette case can be opened.
The operation described above is easily visible in FIGS. 4 to 8. It can be seen in FIG. 4 the mechanism in position allowing the closure of the case. The button 19 pushed inwards drives out the small latch 14 and thus releases the latch 16. When the button 19 returns to its place (fig. 6), the lever 10 pushed by the spring 12 returns 16 to its place and the button 19 is thus blocked (fig. 8).
Fig. 5 shows the mechanism in position for closing the case. The latch 16 is slightly pushed upwards and the advanced small latch 14 supports the red worm 16. In FIG. 6, the mechanism is in a position allowing the opening of the case. The latch 16 pushed by the lever 10 goes up and releases the button 19 which, pushed inward, allows the opening of the cigarette case.
Fig. 7 shows the mechanism in position allowing the opening of the case. The red worm 16 pushed by the lever 10 whose end is engaged in the notch 24 goes up and leaves the button 19 free.
Fig. 8 shows the mechanism in closed position. The lock 16 placed behind the button 19 immobilizes the latter. In order to be able to repair the mechanism in the event of damage, the pin 26 (fig. 1) would be removed from the hinge. The case is thus opened and the necessary repairs are carried out.
