Electrical system on a vehicle for single-phase power, with converter and asynchronous drive motors for single-phase power. There are electric vehicles for a phase current known, in which the A phase current by means of so-called phase converter is converted into multi-phase current and asynchronous multi-phase drive motors are supplied, which are controlled and regulated in a known manner with rotor resistors, also by pole switching and cascade circuit. The number of revolutions of the drive motors which approximately correspond to the number of revolutions of the rotating field for the number of poles in question result as economic speed levels.
The aim of the invention is to increase the number of these economic speed levels by using a special multiphase power generator, which is driven by a mains-fed synchronous motor, to generate at least one number of periods that differs from the number of periods in the mains, with which the drive motors are fed can. Various combinations can be used if the single-phase synchronous motor fed by the mains is coupled to a multi-phase current generator which is designed to be switchable in a known manner for several numbers of poles.
The windings of this generator can preferably be designed in the stator and rotor in the manner of the windings of multi-phase induction motors, and the rotor windings can be excited with direct current. The single-phase synchronous motor can also be wound in the manner of induction motors in order to be capable of a certain output as an induction motor in the event of an outbreak.
The synchronous motor can, however, also serve as a phase converter in a known manner, so that the drive motors can be operated partially with multi-phase current of the number of mains periods.
Because currents of lower and higher periodicity are available for operating the motors and if the voltage of the polyphase generator can also be regulated, the traction motors can be equipped with short-circuit armatures without causing problems when starting. This simplifies their design, and the stator windings of the motors can, in turn, easily be arranged in a switchable manner for several numbers of poles. As an example it should be assumed that the drive rotors work with four different numbers of poles for 100, 66, 50, 33 km speed for the number of network periods.
Then a multiphase power generator with a number of periods of '/ s. Of the network period number and switchable for' / io of the network period number is selected, with its current the traction motors synchronous speeds of 80, 53, 40, 26, 5 and 40, 26, 5 , 20, 13, so that a number of 10 speed levels are available, namely: 13, 20, 26, 5, 33, 40, 5 0, 53 , 66, 80, 100.
The various circuits can be carried out by means of known devices, if necessary with the aid of starting transformers and voltage regulators. Certain levels, for example those; which use mains electricity directly, are preferred as driving levels and the others are used more as transitional levels, so that the multi-phase current generator has the character of a temporarily working apparatus.
There is no need for an example of the control of such a system in which the traction motors are only operated by the training phase current of the lead phase current generator.
In all cases, the excitation of the synchronous motor can be controlled in a known manner in such a way that the line factor of the mains current is kept high.
It is also known to build single-phase and multi-phase current generators with several pole numbers, with windings that have some common parts for several pole numbers. In the same way, the windings of the synchronous motor, the phase converter and the multiphase current generator for several pole counters can be assembled with one another in the same iron body.
