Device for intermittently rotating a machine part from a continuously rotating part. The invention relates to a device for intermittently rotating a machine part of a continuously rotating part. The characteristic of the invention is that on one and the same shaft a ring gear wheel and a single tooth wheel rotate together, each of which engages in one of two toothed segments arranged offset to one another on a shaft. The movement mediated by the toothed ring and one tooth segment is transmitted to a second toothed ring by the toothed part of a third toothed segment. During the movement mediated by the single tooth and the second tooth segment, the non-toothed part of the third tooth segment allows the standstill of the second ring gear.
This device can be used with advantage in a machine for casting stereo type plates of the type in which a cock plug, which is used to control the metal inflow to the mold pressed against the melting kettle, is to be opened at certain times and then closed again.
In the drawing, the device is shown in Fig. 1 in vertical section and in Fig. 2 in top view after removal of the worm, worm shaft, coupling and the motor.
The gear a is continuously driven by the motor b in a known manner through the worm c and the Schncekenrad d. A gear e also rotates with gear a. The gear a engages in a tooth segment f, the toothing of which in the illustrated embodiment extends over slightly more than 180, as indicated by the dash-dotted lines g-h. The toothed segment i also rotates with the segment f, the toothing of which also extends over a little more than 180, namely over the peripheral part lying between the lines k-l; the segment i meshes with the gear m.
This drive converts the ongoing rotary movement of the gear a into an intermittent movement of the gear m. This is done in the following way: The gear a rotates the Zahnseg element f until its toothless part is opposite the gear a. Here, the gear wheel m is rotated at the same time through the segment i. The position of the tooth segments f and i to the gears a and m segments f and i to the gears a and m is such that both tooth segments simultaneously in and out of engagement with their gears a respectively. m come. Then the single gear c engages in the teeth of the toothed segment n sitting on the shaft of the toothed segments f and i and rotates this segment, as well as the segments f and i by one tooth for each revolution.
Since the toothless part of the segment i is opposite the ring gear m, it remains in place until the gear segment n and consequently also the gear segments f and i have rotated so far that the toothed ones Parts of the toothed segments f and i in turn come into engagement with the gears a and m, whereupon a partial rotation of the gear m takes place again.
Between the individual shifts a pawl n holds the segment n, the toothing of which for this purpose extends so far ahead on the part opposite the pawl o that at the point in time when the single gear e begins the slow shifting of the toothed segment n, this segment is held in the switching pauses by the latch o.
To secure the gear in the rest period, the locking disc p is provided on the shaft of the toothed segments i, f and n and a locking disc q on the shaft of the gear m. In the rest position of the gear wheel m, the hollow round part of the disk q covers part of the circumference of the disk p, and the tooth wheel m cannot rotate until one of the two sections of the disk p the edge of the hollow round part of the Disk q reached. At the same moment the toothed part of the toothed segment i comes into engagement with the gearwheel m, so that its rotation starts at the moment when the disks p, q are unlocked. The second section of the disk p allows the disk q to move into the locked position with sufficient further rotation of all wheels.
