Burners for burning dusty fuels. Practical experience with pulverized coal firing has shown that the way in which the fuel-air mixture is introduced into the combustion chambers and the ignition of the pulverized fuel play a major role. Up to now, a dust firing system has been put into operation in such a way that a fire is fanned in a furnace in order to warm up the masonry until the fuel dust blown onto it could ignite. This requires a lot of fuel and a long heating time.
In this respect, special heating systems attached to the stove, which are usually operated with under wind, are somewhat more beneficial. However, the combustion chamber of the furnace or, if necessary, of the steam boiler must always be brought to the ignition temperature of the fuel dust.
If dust is blown in too early, there is a risk that all rooms and ducts will fill with a mixture of dust and air, which can lead to an explosion under uncertain conditions.
The present burner, which is intended to act as a pilot burner, enables the dust-fuel burner to be started up in a simple manner, for which purpose the burner has an extended part which is intended for the combustion of fuel: for the purpose of preheating the burner so that the afterwards a dust-like fuel guided in them ignites in the burner.
The invention enables a shorter heating-up time and a lower fuel consumption for heating, while at the same time the risk of explosion is reduced. In addition, the burner creates a flame away from a certain length, which is of great influence for the complete combustion of the dust.
In the drawing, three examples of this burner Ausfüh are shown (in section).
In Fig. 1 is about the fuel-dust air mixture feeding nozzle to which a cross-section extended part b is connected before entering the furnace. This part b is expediently lined with refractory material and is used when the furnace is put into operation to receive the solid fuel c used to ignite a fire and to heat it, which could also be replaced by liquid or gaseous fuel.
Openings are attached to the extended burner part for introducing the fuel c and for emptying any combustion residues, which can be closed by lockable flaps d-f.
On the front side, around the dust feed nozzle a there are also openings g for the entry of additional air, which can be adjusted and regulated by means of a rosette lr.
A fire is kindled in the pilot burner to heat up, which initially receives the necessary air through the natural draft of the stove through the openings g on the front of the burner or through the filling and discharge opening, which can be closed by means of flaps d-f, or through both.
As soon as the fire is burning well, air is blown in through the central pipe a, 1..i # the fireproof masonry of the burner. It is glowing, whereupon one lets enter through the pipe (c the fuel used for combustion deaf, or a fuel "taiib-air mixture.
In this way, the fuel dust can be ignited quickly and safely; brought without the Clefalir having an explosion. As soon as the furnace is operating correctly, the Fenerun @ -s residue is grounded through the emptying flaps f -ib.
As a result of the enlarged cross-section (1e # of the burner compared to the fuel dust supply), part of the fuel dust is already ignited in the burner itself and the ignition temperature can be maintained.
The horizontal arrangement shown in FIG. 1 also has the advantage that the heavy fuel dust grains, which may still get into the burner through the supply line, can collect in the drainage connection located below from where
