Description
Safety envelope. The invention relates to a security envelope, established in such a way that it prevents any fraudulent separation of the seals or guarantee stamps affixed thereto.
The envelope according to the invention is charac terized by the fact that it comprises, at the right of the closure edges where seals must be affixed, and correspondingly in the covering closure panels, strips cut from the material of the support, these strips being able, the fold formed, to be completely coated in the wax of the seals.
In the accompanying drawing which, by way of example, represents an embodiment of the object of the invention, FIG. 1 is a view of the rear face, the sides folded down, but the strips raised; Fig. 2 is a plan view, the envelope deployed, certain strips raised; Fig. 3, 4 and 5 show how, during the constitution of the fold, the strips are combined with the cachets.
The envelope comprises, along the edges of the closing flaps - at the places where the seals must be affixed - cutouts A, made with a punch, so as to leave strips B. The depth of the notches A (fig. 2) is such that the length of the uncovered space, C, (fig. 1), is slightly greater than the diameter of the seal to be formed. The envelope, which can be backed up or made of heavy paper, preferably has a liner, canvas or heavy paper, D, left intact, which appears when the strips B are lifted (fig. 3).
To constitute the security of the fold, the strips B being raised, we let run wax on the uncovered portion of the liner D and on the parts of the envelope which surround this uncovered portion, leaving however free the strips B These are then brought back over this first layer (fig. 4) and a new layer of preferably thin wax is poured over it, on which the seal or stamp (fig. 5) is imprinted. so that the strips are completely coated in the wax of the seals.
The imprint is therefore very firmly fixed to the support and cannot be detached therefrom by any fraudulent process without breaking the strips b '.
It is understood that the invention is not limited to the shape and to the particular arrangement of strips shown and described, and that in particular these could be reinforced by a metal part of very small thickness and of any suitable shape.
