4 titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution (le l'objet de l'invention va être décrite . ci- après en référence au dessin annexé, dans lequel La fig. 1 est une coupe verticale partielle pratiquée près de l'une des extrémités du moteur;
La fig. 2 représente ce moteur en coupe verticale transversale, cette coupe passant par l'axe d'un des trois .cylindres; La fig. 8 montre la culasse d'un des cy lindres en coupe faite perpendiculairement à la fig. 2; La fig. 4 représente en coupé correspon dant à la fig. 2 un des distributeurs d'air de ce moteur; La fi-. 5 montre le même distributeur de côté;
La fig. 7 est un plan correspondant à la fig. 6; La fig. 8 est une coup-, du pulvérisateur faite suivant la ligne A-A de la, fig. 7; La fig. 9 est une coupe horizontale faite suivant la ligne B-B- de la fig. 8; La fig. 10 montre une variante clé pul vérisateur en coupe verticale; La fig. 11 représente en plan, partie en coupe, l'arbre de décompression;
Internal combustion engine. The object of this invention is an internal combustion engine, for liquid fuels, operating in two strokes with variable injection time, mechanical spraying and constant pressure without air pressure for injection, with three parallel cylinders, each cylinder .as well as the corresponding piston being with two stages, one of which constitutes a charge air pump.
It -comprises a chamber sprayer in which the liquid fuel is re-crushed, a cylindrical distributor moving into an air distribution breech and which is intended to pass into the exhausted cylinder, flushing air pressurized in one of the other two cylinders, a decompression and ignition device to facilitate cold starting.
4 by way of example, an embodiment (the object of the invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which FIG. 1 is a partial vertical section taken close to one ends of the motor;
Fig. 2 shows this engine in transverse vertical section, this section passing through the axis of one of the three .cylinders; Fig. 8 shows the cylinder head of one of the cylinders in section made perpendicular to FIG. 2; Fig. 4 is a cutaway corresponding to FIG. 2 one of the air distributors of this engine; The fi-. 5 shows the same distributor from the side;
Fig. 6 shows, on the other hand, - from the side with respect to, FIG. 2, one of the sprayers of this engine; '.
Fig. 7 is a plan corresponding to FIG. 6; Fig. 8 is a shot of the sprayer taken along the line A-A of, fig. 7; Fig. 9 is a horizontal section taken along the line B-B- of FIG. 8; Fig. 10 shows a variant key pulverizer in vertical section; Fig. 11 shows in plan, part in section, the decompression shaft;
Fig. 12 shows partially from the side the tail of the decompression shaft; Fig. 13 is an end view to the right of the keys FIG. 11 and 12.
As can be seen in this drawing, in particular fig. 2, this two-stroke internal combustion engine has three cranks a arranged 120 'from each other-around the motor shaft a1.
The three cylinders such as b are parallel and each of them is open from below to allow the connecting rod c to pass. These cylinders are two stages like the piston d on which the connecting rod is articulated in e.
The lower stage of the cylinder has several air intake valves f and several discharge valves g.
The upper stage, of smaller diameter than the first, comprises an exhaust port 1a and an inlet of rinsing air i coming from the distributor j.
A. the upper part of the cylinder b is a cooling water jacket b1.
Finally, the cylinder b is closed by a cylinder head 7r surmounted by the sprayer l and the decompression and ignition device established respectively in lcl and 1c2.
The distributor j is made up of a kind of open cylindrical drawer of <B> 180 '. </B> It moves in the air distribution cylinder head m. and is intended to close the air inlet opening - rinsing i. at the time of the opening of the exhaust h until.
that the piston d is lowered enough to dis- cover at about half this exhaust li .. .. at this moment, the distributor j opens by:
Enter pressurized flushing air to allow flushing. This distributor j remains open while the piston <I> d </I> completes its descent and then rises again to first close the exhaust there and then the intake i, as will be seen later.
A <B> I </B> pump delivers the liquid fuel to a volume greater than the cylinder: @e and pushes this fuel through the pipe P (fig. 9) into the spray chamber; this volume being greater than. that of this chamber, it moves the piston 12 so as to increase the volume of the chamber and at the same time increase the. pressure said to be combustible, all in order to obtain a pressure greater than. compression in the cylinder b to allow the spraying of the liquid, l:
fuel through discs h when the needle or needle l 'is raised by means of the cam 1j with variable profile and equally variable displacement.
The cam h rotates at the <B>, </B> same speed as the shaft a. ' motor and is controlled by this shaft.
The needle l 'is constantly pressed on its seat d' by means of the lever L'r and its spring 1g. It is lifted by the cama <I> l. '</I> and the lever l.
When the needle is closed, the pump gives it. a continuous flow at a constant pressure, forces the piston 12 of the sprayer to move back until it discovers the orifice 11 which serves as a discharge channel returning the fuel to its starting point.
The Z sprayer has perforated discs, fig. 2 and 8, the holes of which overlap.
This sprayer allows all speeds without shock, while the cam h allows the engine to be stopped without any shutter acting on the fuel supply.
A vertical shaft o, fig. 1, controls the distributor j, fig. 2, by a con venable gear; this .shaft o is extended upwards, fig. 1, - so as to reach the cylinder head of the first cylinder and to receive at its upper end a helical pinion pinion keyed on it.
This pinion is intended to control another pinion q. fig. 11, mounted in a fixed manner on a grooved bush 7 controlling, in turn, the horizontal decompression shaft s.
For this purpose, the head of this shaft is provided with keys s 'engaged in the grooves i' of the sleeve r so that this head can slide in the sleeve while being driven by it.
The decompression shaft s extends horizontally to. the rear of the engine and has as many cams, suitably arranged, as there are cylinders.
These cams have a ramp s2 leading to. a circular path s3 -concentrated with the tree s and .continuous.
By moving the shaft s towards the rear of the engine, the first, cam for example comes into contact with the rod t of the horizontal valve t ', fig. 11, which corresponds to it and it operates gradually and alternately until the circular path engages and then maintains this valve constantly open, that is to say pushed back to the left in the. cylinder head of the cylinder concerned.
This valve, mounted in the housing k1 of the cylinder head, lets the air from .c2 d-rnier escape, from which it follows that the engine can be turned very easily. In order to start it.
The rearward displacement of the decompression shaft is obtained by means of a fork c with toothed sector W controlled by a fast-pitch screw v @ actuated by means of a lever not shown in the drawing. : after decompression, when the engine is started, we act on this lever in the direction .contraction so as to bring the camshaft s forward and gradually.
During this time, the: valve t 'being subjected to the action! Of a return spring t2, the ramp s2 of the cam <I> s' s' </I> pushes back and lets the valve close alternately so as to obtain alternately also the outlet of the <B> compression </B> air contained in the cylinder, so that the latter has time to heat up.
It should be noted, however, that this valve vee is less and less large to gradually allow the heating of the air: from the cylinder and the normal starting of the engine, which is done very easily.
The return spring helps to bring the decompression shaft to rest.
Each decompression valve operates by making electrical contact with the igniter in front of it, in k2, fig. 2, and this by turning the needle of it to red, which allows cold and low compression starts.
When the engine is started, the cam escapes and ignition occurs by the high compression temperature. Without decompression, the cold start could not occur at the. hand, or at least with difficulty.
That said, if we consider the cylinder which is at. the compression period, the admission of fuel into this cylinder takes place when 1c piston of this cylinder is at 7 before top dead center. As soon as charging begins, the mixture ignites, combustion takes place and piston d is pushed down.
During this descent, this piston, which is two-stage, draws fresh air from the outside to the bottom dead center.
During this descent, at approximately <B> 60 '</B> before bottom dead center, this piston begins to uncover the intake port i, then, arriving at 40' before bottom dead center, it begins to discover the exhaust port h.
At approximately 30 before bottom dead center, the distributor j begins to discover the port i, so that the air, which has been pressurized in the cylinder, the crank of which is 120 behind: that of the cylinder considered and who has passed through the distribution panties will go, enters this cylinder.
On entering this cylinder, the air strikes a tongue surmounting the udder and which has a suitable direction to force this air. to swirl in this cylinder dre until the closing of the exhaust h which takes place at 40 'after the bottom dead center, by the piston d in:
its ascending course. After closing the exhaust opening la by piston d, the rinsing air intake opening i remains open by the jet distributor by piston d which, the latter, closes it to <B > 60 '</B> approximately after bottom dead center, to allow key air to accumulate in cylinder b in order to have, in the latter, a weight of displacement air greater than the weight of: same cylinder at atmospheric pressure.
The piston d continuing to rise com prime this air to about 30 kilos, which gives a compression temperature of around <B> 500 '. </B>
At this moment, the sprayer opens, the fuel admitted in the form of mist ignites throughout. duration of the injection, and so on, in two stages, for each cylinder.
There is a driving thrust every 120, the cranks of; this engine being at 120 from each other as we said above.
When the engine is at full load, the pin 1 of the sprayer l moves back only very little, that is to say only of the pressure relating to the injection; but when the engine is at. small load, the same piston discovers the flow channel 1l.
When the cam l "is pushed to the full stop, the lever roller 1.13 escapes the ramp and stops the engine without having to stop the arrival of the fuel which remains in the pressurized pipes. which allows the key to start again instantly, without flooding, there is no need to fear air bubbles: in the pipe, which would cause rapid departure.
As shown in the fib. 10, <B> If- </B> sprayer may comprise discs with concentric grooves, overlapping, depending on the nature of the fuel used.
The concen tric circular groove discs hl laminate the: fuel while impact spraying it on the <B> 1 "</B> wall of the casing.
