Description
Method for attaching a heat protection sleeve to the handles of metal and clay cookware, as well as other heat-conducting devices. The present invention relates to a method for attaching a heat protection sleeve to the handles of metal and clay cookware, as well as other heat conductive devices.
The invention aims to fill the general urgent need for a permanent protective sleeve against burns when loading strongly heated device handles by an appropriate simple method for attaching such protective sleeves.
Exemplary embodiments of the present method are, for example, the following: The protective sleeves are cut from tubular fiber according to the handle dimensions and cut open in the longitudinal direction. By placing the prepared protective sleeves in a suitable liquid, for example water, the otherwise hard fiber becomes plastic and soft like rubber; in this state, the sleeves can now be brought to any shape of grip. The protective sleeves are now pressed against the wooden handles with wooden clips, which are designed to match the shape of the handle, and dried. The fiber becomes hard again as it dries and the sleeve encloses the handle almost permanently.
For handles of special shape according to FIG. 2, there is no need to cut open the protective sleeve previously cut in the longitudinal direction; otherwise the procedure for these handles is the same as described above. Fig. 1 shows a round protective sleeve on a GE closed handle, applied according to the first-mentioned method. The line labeled A shows the jacket section line of the sleeve.
