Tar and bitumen boiling and blasting apparatus. The known, mostly mobile devices for sprinkling the streets with hot, liquid tar or bitumen have a heatable cooking kettle on which a pump is arranged outside, by means of which the material heated in the kettle can be sprayed. This has the disadvantage that the hot material sucked in by the cold pump solidifies slightly in the cold pump and in the pipes, mainly at the start of work and during work breaks, thus causing operational interruptions. As a result, it usually takes longer preparations for the pump to work.
The apparatus according to the present invention avoids this disruption. For this purpose, the pump and its lines are arranged in such a way that they are heated with the material so that sprinkling can be started immediately when the material in the kettle is sufficiently heated.
The drawing shows as an exemplary embodiment. .of the invention two explosive wagons, namely Fig. 1 shows the one car vertically, Fig. 2 shows the same horizontally in section; Figs. 3 and 4 show the second car in the same way, but without the chassis, while Fig. 5 shows a detail.
In both cars, the kettle 1 is surrounded by the jacket 2. Between 1 and 2 is the cavity 3. Below the boiler is the furnace 4 with the grate 5 and the fire door 6. The ash chamber 7 can be locked with the ash door 8: the boiler 1 can be sieved. after loosening the screws 9, lift out slightly.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the jacket 2 forms a chamber 10 in which the pump 14 is installed. A wall 11 prevents the heating gases from flowing directly from the furnace 4 to the pump and into the chimney 12, but rather are forced to paint the boiler 1 all around. Doors 13 on both sides of the chamber 10 allow access to the pump for the purpose of controlling the same. The pump shaft 27 penetrates the jacket 2 and carries the handle 15 at the protruding end, so that: the pump can be operated from the outside.
The four-way valve 16 is switched on in the suction line of the pump, which can be adjusted so that the pump either sucks in hot air from the chamber 10 through the nozzle 20 and presses it into the blasting pipe and the blasting nozzle, or from the boiler 1 tar or bitumen through the Pipe 21 .sucked in and dispersed by the spray nozzle, or else so that the boiler 1 can be emptied through the pipe 21 and nozzle 17. The setting of the four-way valve 16 can be done from the outside by means of the lever 25.
At 19, the detonation pipe with the detonation nozzle can be connected to the pressure line 18, the greater part of which is also in the chamber 10.
In the example according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the pump 14 is net angeord inside the boiler 1 so that it will be immersed in the tar or bitumen to be heated: The three-way valve 29 is switched on in the .saugleitung .der pump with a one above the Boiler bottom opening nozzle 34 and a nozzle 35 to which the pipe 22 is ruled out that opens up in the boiler 1 so horch that the mouth is always above the boiler contents.
By setting the cock 29 accordingly, the pump 14 either sucks in hot air from the space 23 above the liquid through the suction pipe 22 and presses it into the detonation pipe and the detonation nozzle, or that it passes through the nozzle 34 sucks in heated tar or bitumen and pushes it into the detonation pipe. In the latter position of the three-way valve 29, the boiler can also be emptied by means of the pump 14 after removal of the explosive tube. But it can emptying the boiler also by emptying nozzle 30, which is closed ver with a plug 24, take place.
The setting of the three-way cock 29 takes place from the outside on the lever 25. The cock spindle, on which the lever sits, is provided with a stuffing box 26 when passing through the jacket of the boiler 1. A stuffing box 28 is also arranged around the pump shaft 27 for sealing against the interior of the boiler 1. The pressure line leads through the cavity 3 down, and at 19 can be connected to the same the explosive tube with the explosive nozzle.
In order to avoid disturbances of the pump by impurities in the material, there is an easily removable sieve 31 in the upper part of the Kes sels 1 in the two examples shown, which retains impurities when filling the tar or bitumen in the boiler and so blockages the suction nozzles prevented. In both examples, the boiler 1 protrudes beyond the shell 2 and the upper edge of the shell 2 forms a channel 32 with a drain port 33 shown in FIG. 5 Darge,
so that the tar or bitumen that boils over is collected and fed into a container attached or placed underneath.
Apparatus with larger contents are expediently arranged with a horizontal boiler on a chassis with four wheels, and instead of being used as a push cart, as shown in the drawing, for horse or tractor trains.
