Apparatus for drying live cocoons. The present invention relates to an apparatus for drying living cocoons and the like. The aim of the invention is to create a new drying apparatus in which the drying chamber has two compartments for direct and indirect heating with means for determining and regulating to any desired drying temperature for the living cocoons, while the latter is through the directly heated and then pass through the indirectly heated section.
In addition, the apparatus is designed in such a way that it enables the exiting hot air to be returned from the indirectly heated chamber to the first cocoon feed chamber, to use this heat as best as possible for preheating and to completely dry the living cocoons in the most economical way .
Various types of dryers for living cocoons are known. It is already known to use endless, belt-like transport devices in order to carry out Ko cons one after the other through a drying chamber. In the drying apparatus of this type previously in use, the heating means were arranged inside the drying chamber or they are then arranged entirely outside the drying chamber, the hot air generated being introduced into the drying chamber. In each of the types mentioned, the temperature is quite strong, equalized in the whole chamber and the setting of the temperature for special transport devices would not be possible regardless of that for other devices.
Especially when hot air is introduced, the temperature is the same for all transport devices and it is almost impossible to determine the desired difference in temperatures for the live cocoons that enter the chamber at the start of drying and for the dried cocoons that leave the chamber after it is completely dry, keep it upright.
For this reason, the drying devices with the endless conveyor belts, as used up to now, have mostly remained unsuccessful, mainly because the temperature of the cocoons was not correct at the end of the heating, i.e. because the colon was too warm Silk damages, or if the heating is insufficient, the safe storage of the cocoons becomes impossible, so that perfect and reliable drying of the cocoons could not be obtained.
The subject matter of the present invention now has the following characteristic features. In a drying chamber two compartments are provided, one on top of the other, with conveyor belts heated by steam tubes in the upper compartment and a conveyor belt in the lower compartment. The lower department is connected to a hot air generation chamber from which hot air is conveyed into the lower department. A preheating can is connected to the lower section, into which the air exiting the lower section enters.
To regulate the drying speed means for regulating the running speed of each conveyor belt are provided, furthermore, the apparatus sits an automatic feed device for the living cocoons and a pneumatic conveyor for removing the cocoons.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: Fig. 4 is a plan view of the same.
The apparatus has a drying chamber 16 which is divided into two compartments by means of partitions 13, 14. Between the intermediate walls 13, 14 an opening is seen in front. To introduce the cocoons, an endless conveyor belt 3 is provided, which is arranged in the upper department and in the lower department, an endless conveyor belt 4 is provided on which the cocoons can fall through said opening of the intermediate walls 13, 14 from the conveyor belt 3 . The end piece of the partition 14 extends obliquely upwards and prevents the cocoons from falling outwards.
Within the upper department, endless conveyor belts 1, 2 are arranged one above the other, while in the lower department only one endless belt 4 is angeord net. These bands consist of wire mesh, cloth, etc., or material that allows air to pass freely through. In addition, suitable control devices are provided for each conveyor belt, for example interchangeable drive wheels of different diameters, so that the running speed of each conveyor belt can be controlled independently of that of another.
For heating Dampfröh Ren 9, 10, 11 are provided, which are arranged between the conveyor belts. For heating the conveyor belt 4, a rice air chamber 15, FIG. 2, is provided. This is arranged outside the drying chamber 16. Steam tubes 12, FIGS. 2-4 are used for heating. Fans 18 are used to introduce the hot air into the lower compartment.
After it has acted on the cocoons of the conveyor belt 4, the hot air passes through openings 19 on the opposite wall of the can and is passed through tubes 29 in a pre-drying chamber 17 which is located in front of the main drying chamber 16.
The hot air which acted on the cocoons of the lower compartment during the final period of drying, and which has little moisture compared to the air which was used on the living cocoons in the upper compartment, can now be used advantageously for the Preheating of living cocoons before they are fed into the drying chamber. This achieves a significant saving in heat and prevents the cocoon thread from suffering damage due to rapid temperature changes when the cocoons are introduced into the drying chamber.
In the bottom of the Vorwä rmekannmer 17 steam tubes 20 are provided to preheat the chamber in case the supply of hot air through the tubes 29 should suffer interruption and in the case of the supply of hot air to the lower chamber would be interrupted when regulating the temperature.
The hot air, which is generated by the steam tubes 9, 10 and 11 in the upper chamber, rises through the conveyor belts and acts on the cocoons, which are arranged close together on each conveyor belt and the temperature of the air called increases after at the top for each conveyor belt so that the temperature on the first conveyor belt is the highest. This ensures that the hottest air acts on the living cocoons on the uppermost conveyor belt 1, while the hot air, which is already largely saturated with moisture, is removed from the chamber 16 through the outlet tubes 23. The amount of hot air released can be regulated by flaps 24.
An endless cup slat belt 33, which runs over drums 32 and 34, is used to convey living cocoons from the cocoon container 36 upwards over the uppermost belt 1 via an inclined plate 37 (FIG. 1). A second, endless belt 35 made of cloth or leather is arranged inside the cocoon container and is used to convey cocons forward and to feed slat belt 33 to the cup. An inclined wall 37 is arranged in the cocoon container 36 parallel to the rear wall of the slatted belt 33 to prevent cocoons from falling behind the slatted belt. A funnel-shaped box 21 is used to receive ge dried cocoons.
This is arranged under the front end of the conveyor belt 4, Fig. 2-3. At the bottom of said container Be a compressed air line 22 is ruled out, in which a fan 38 is provided. The dried cocoons which fall into the container 21 are transported through the compressed air line 22 to some place.
The drive pulley 30 drives the belt pulley 31 (FIG. 1), which drives the cocoon conveyor mechanism. A second pulley 28, which is driven by the drive pulley 30, drives the pulleys 25, 251, 26, 26 ', 25, 25 ", 27, 27' and with these the fans 18 (Fig. 4).
