isolées l'une de l'autre et ayant normalement des formes telles quel les ne se touchent pas, de sorte que le circuit de l'appareil 7a est ouvert. Pour fermer ce circuit, on agit de haut en 'bas sur un bras t pivoté en t1 sur le bâti s, muni d'une poignée t', qui sort seule de la boîte<I>a.,</I> et appli quant alors la lame ri sur la lame r'. Le bras t est soumis à l'action d'un ressortît tendant à le soulever, mais est maintenu à la position de fermeture de l'interrupteur r par un crochet pivotant v;
Le fonctionnement de cette forme d'exé cution est le suivant: On règle le mouvement d'horlogerie e à. la. façon d'un réveil de manière qu'il ferme l'interrupteur auxiliaire f au bout du temps déterminé que l'on choisit, quelques minutes par exemple, puis on abaisse la poignée t' du bras t. En ce faisant: premièrement on oblige le crochet v à glisser de gauche à se meut ensuite de :droite à gauche sous l'ac tion du ressort iv et où il maintient le bras t à la position de fermeture;
Apparatus for controlling at least one electrical circuit after a predetermined and adjustable period of time. The object of the invention is an apparatus serving to control at least one electric circuit after a predetermined period of time, this control possibly consisting, for example, in the closing or opening of the circuit; it can be advantageously used to control the circuit of electromedial devices to the action of which the patient must only be subjected for a determined period of time.
It is characterized in that it comprises a main switch controlling the circuit and actuated a first time at an arbitrary moment, at least one auxiliary switch serving to produce electromagnetically a second actuation of the main switch in direction. inverse of the first, as well as a watch movement under the control of which the auxiliary switch is placed and which actuates the latter at the end of the adjustable time determined in advance and counted from the above moment.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the apparatus, serving to interrupt, after a determined period of time, the passage of current in an electrotherapy apparatus.
Fig. 1 is an elevation of a first embodiment; a box in which it is enclosed is shown open; Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view taken along the line A-A of FIG. 1; Fig. 3 is a diagram of the electrical connections of the first embodiment; Fig. 4 is a partial front view of the second embodiment; Fig. 5 is a diagram of the electrical connections of this second embodiment.
The box a of the first embodiment (fig. 1) is composed of two similar parts <I> al </I> a2 joined by hinges b and which can be kept in the closed position by means of a hook c and a dowel head.
Part a2 carries two terminals <I> h i </I> intended to be connected to the two conductors of a network supplying the electrotherapy device n. Terminal h is connected to device n by a conductor j, a fuse 1, a conductor o, while terminal i is in relation with this device n by a conductor lc, a fuse m, a conductor q , a switch r, a conductor <I> p. </I> The switch <I> r </I> is made up of two elastic strips carried by a frame s, which is housed in the part <I> a '</I> of the rz box,
isolated from each other and normally having shapes such as they do not touch each other, so that the circuit of the apparatus 7a is open. To close this circuit, we act from top to bottom on an arm t pivoted at t1 on the frame s, provided with a handle t ', which comes out of the box <I> a., </I> and appli as for the blade laughed on the blade r '. The arm t is subjected to the action of a spring tending to lift it, but is held in the closed position of the switch r by a pivoting hook v;
the latter is lodged when the arm t is lowered in a déc.ôupure t3 of t and remains there under the action of a spring w.
The opening of the switch r at the end of the predetermined period of time is produced by releasing the arm <I> t </I> from the hook <I> v. </I> For this purpose, this ci is provided with an armature capable of being moved from left to right by an electromagnet y.
One of the terminals of the electromagnet is connected there by a conductor r to the blade r @ of the switch r and the other by a conductor 2 to an isolated contact f1 belonging to an auxiliary switch f, which closes at the end of the determined time the watch movement e which is carried by part d of the case and whose dial appears in a bezel thereof. The second contact, <B> f </B> <I>, </I> of <I> f </I> is connected by a conductor 4 to one of the terminals of a resistor 5 whose another terminal is related to fuse 1 and therefore to terminal h.
The operation of this form of execution is as follows: The clock movement is adjusted to. the. way of an alarm clock so that it closes the auxiliary switch f at the end of the determined time that one chooses, a few minutes for example, then the handle t 'of the arm t is lowered. In doing so: firstly, hook v is forced to slide from left to then moves from: right to left under the action of spring iv and where it maintains arm t in the closed position;
secondly, the main switch r is closed and the electrotherapy device n is switched on; - thirdly, the circuit of the electro-magnet y is closed in r, which remains open, however part, in f.
When the chosen time has elapsed, movement e closes the auxiliary switch <I> f, </I> the electromagnet <I> y </I> attracts the armature x, the hook v releases the arm t which rises under the action of spring a4, the main switch <I> r </I> opens and the appliance does not stop working.
The clockwork movement 7 of the second embodiment (fig. 4 and 5) comprises three dials 8, 9, 10 and three moving parts 11, 12, $ 1 belonging to three auxiliary switches 18, 19, 20 corresponding respectively to seconds, minutes and hours, so that times ranging from a fraction of a second to several hours can be set with sufficient accuracy. The moving parts 11, 12, <B> 13 </B> "are actuated by hand by means of knurled crowns 14, 15, 16. The movement is wound up and time-set by means of another crown, 17.
The auxiliary switches 18, 19, 20 are mounted in parallel with respect to each other between the conductors 2, 4, so that they can all produce independently of each other the excitation of the electromagnet y . When the switch 19 corresponding to the minutes is used, the switch 18 is deactivated and when the switch 20 corresponding to the hours is used, the two switches are turned on. 18, 19 out of service.
<B> It </B> can be very important in an electro-therapy treatment, that it is not accidentally prolonged beyond the time chosen due to a stop of the clockwork movement during this treatment , for example because of a winding fault, a spring break. A safety device automatically produces the opening in the embodiment when the movement 7 stops for any reason.
This device comprises a centrifugal force regulator 22 set in rotation by the movement 7 and rotating as long as the latter is running. The shaft 23 of the regulator 22 carries a plate 24 on which are arranged two semi-circular contacts 25, 26 which are insulated from each other and on the edge, on which bear two brushes 27, 23 connected by conductors 29, 30 to conductors 2 and 4. The oscillating arms of this regulator carry a conductor plate 31.
As long as the shaft rotates with sufficient speed, the plate 31 does not touch the contacts 25 ,, 26 and does not produce a closing of the circuit of the electromagnet y; if this shaft turns too slowly or even stops, the plate 31 rests on the contacts 25, 26, as in FIG. 5 shows it, connects them to each other and closes the circuit of the electromagnet y which causes the opening of the main switch r.
Resistor 5 can be replaced by one or more lamps which serve as a tee minus for the operation of the apparatus.
The latter can order more than one cooked circuit.
The centrifugal force safety device can be replaced by another device which achieves the same result.
A control button can be provided to close the circuit of the electromagnet y at will and to stop the operation of the device n at any time.
