Protective device for alternating current machines. The subject matter of the invention is a protective device for alternating current machines, which protects the machine, for example, against external short circuits, that is to say those that occur outside the machine; Furthermore, it can also reliably protect the machine against internal short circuits in the machine windings, such as a short circuit in an entire winding phase or only a partial short circuit in one or a few turns of the machine winding.
The device is also effective in the event of severe overloads, which are not caused by short circuits in the actual sense, but by some other cause, for example, when motors that are fed by the machine stop.
According to the invention, the stray fields of the machine amplified when exceeding permissible current strengths trigger processes that operate switching devices to relieve the machine. Such processes can be inductive, magnetic, thermal or dynamic. The machine can be relieved by switching off the current or the supplied power or by removing the excitation. The switching devices can be activated directly by the processes triggered by the stray fields or by relaying relays.
The stray fields can be used, for example, in such a way that either in the grooves or in the vicinity of the end connections of the stem winding, or in the grooves and in the vicinity of these end connections, additional coils are attached, which are specified by the Stray fields are penetrated. In these coils, which are switched on in the release circuit, currents are induced in the event of short circuits, which actuate the release mechanisms to render the short circuits harmless.
1 shows an embodiment of such an arrangement in which the groove scatter field is used to influence the tripping circuit for the tripping mechanisms. In the stator slots, which contain the effective winding of the machines, thin-wire coils a are attached, the sides of which are one above the other, so that the coils only wrap around Idas slot field. You can see the coils one behind the other or in parallel, or mixed in the tripping circuit, as required.
Fig.? shows some embodiments of arrangements in which the forehead litter field of the machine is harnessed. Here coils b are sector-shaped either on the circumference of the machine housing (Fig. Right) or on the circumference of the machine shields (Fig. 2 left) in such a way that they are penetrated by the front stray field (stray field of the stator winding heads).
It is sufficient to arrange only a few or even only one large coil on the perimeter of the machine. not only indicates the strengthening of the entire stray field when an external short-circuit occurs on all sides, sf also indicates the occurrence of a complete or partial internal short-circuit due to the formation of a local, correspondingly increased stray field Displays.
In Fib. 3 glass is shown schematically the entire circuit diagram of the Sehutza.nordnung. Here g is the alternating current machine to be protected with the excitation winding e and the stator winding s. a. and b are those shown in Figs. 1 and 2, in the release st:
romkreis c switched-on coils interspersed with the slot or face stray field. With in the exciter is referred to, in the circuit breaker contacts 1 ,. are inserted, which are expediently bridged by a larger resistance w.
The tripping coils spr and spe activated in the tripping circuit c interrupt either the excitation circuit of the alternating current machine or the main circuit (main switch between the machine and busbars) or both circuits.
The device can be set up in such a way that, by setting the time accordingly, the main switch is first opened by the coil sp_ and only later the excitation of the alternating current machine is interrupted by the coil spr. The reverse process can also be useful.
It may also be more appropriate to interrupt the excitation of the DC exciter.
