: Magnetic electrical device on motor vehicles with internal combustion engine, for lighting and ignition. The invention relates to a magneto-electrical device on motor vehicles with internal combustion engines, for lighting and ignition, whereby for generating electricity.
an alternating current generator with static winding and permanent magnetic rotor is used, which already supplies sufficient ignition current at the starting speeds and medium-frequency current after the machine has started.
According to the invention, one and the same type of current for ignition and lighting is taken from the alternating current generator, by only bringing part of the generated current to ignition voltage by means of a transformer and successively switching it to the ornaments through a rotating high-voltage distributor and another part of the current directly from the armature winding is supplied from lamps.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in the accompanying drawing. On a rotating shaft 1, which is preferably the shaft of the internal combustion engine driving the car, sits a disk 2, e.g. B. the flywheel of the engine. On the circumference of the disc 2, permanent magnets 3 of alternating north and south polarity and such a number are available at regular intervals that the machine be already when cranking the internal combustion engine currents of medium frequency, i.e. from a period number of 75 to 250 in the Se customer, delivers. In practice, a number of 40 magnets has proven to be sufficient.
The rotor formed by the flywheel 2 and the permanent magnets 3 works together with a stationary armature 8, which has a segment shape and is adjustable by means of screws 10 in longitudinal slots 9 against the field magnets.
On the inner surface facing the rotor, the armature 8 has grooves 11 in which the armature windings 12 are accommodated. Together with the rotor it forms one. AC machine, which has neither grinding or collector nor a special He regervorrichtung, and already when turning on the internal combustion engine he generates the electricity required to operate the headlights and to ignite the motor.
If a large self-induction is now connected in series with a resistance, the headlight lamps, then without a special voltage regulation with increasing number of revolutions and thus correspondingly increasing frequency the) Vattspan no longer practically increases, while the wattless voltage of the Self-induction is recorded, and the machine emits a constant current due to its constant excitation by permanent magnets.
Instead of switching on chokes in the lamp circuits, the self-induction is increased by a correspondingly larger number of turns of the armature winding in the machine itself. In the case of the machine, which cannot be shown in the drawing, the coils 12 have a larger number of turns than is necessary to generate the lamp voltage. This saves a special device for keeping the voltage constant and enables the headlight lamps to be switched on directly, i. H.
to the exclusion of series resistors, fuses and the like, and without the lighting being significantly influenced by changing the number of revolutions, to be connected to the armature winding.
Three lines 13, 14 and 15 lead away from the armature winding 12. The lines 13 and 15 are connected via terminals 16 and 17 to the primary coils 18, 19 of a transformer 48, through which the high voltage required for ignition it is generated. On the other hand, the primary coils are connected by lines 20, \? 7 resp. 21, 28 connected to the headlight lamps 29, 30 connected to the ground E. Between tween the lines 20, 21 and 27, 28 sits a rotary switch 24 with terminals 22, 23, 25, 26 and contact blades 31, which development in the position shown in the drawing, the contacts 22 and 25 respectively. Bridge 23 and 26 and close the lamp circuit.
If the switch 24, which is the only element of the entire device subject to wear and friction, is rotated by 90, the lamps are switched off.
The third line 14 leads to a con tact 32 and is connected to ground E. It is the common return line for the lamp circuits of the headlight lamps 29 and 30. The headlight lamps 29 and 30 are completely independent of one another, so that one can keep burning without special safety devices if the other should fail.
The secondary coil 33 of the transformer 48 is connected to the ground at one end, and at the other end to the umla.ufendLn distributor lever 35 of a distributor 36, the contacts 37 of which are connected to the ignition plugs 38 of the internal combustion engine. As a result of the medium-frequency machine, the transformer can be small, so that it can be easily installed in a motor vehicle, and still deliver the ignition voltage at the starting speeds without primary interruption and the use of capacitors.
The United divider 35 can sit directly on the camshaft 39 of the internal combustion engine.
So that the voltage in the ignition line does not rise excessively as the number of revolutions increases, a flashover spark gap 49 is connected in parallel to line 34, which effects the maximum limitation of the ignition voltage in the simplest possible way.
The headlight lamps 29 and 30 he only hold electricity when the prime mover is running. So that lighting is possible when the machine is at a standstill, a rectifier 42 is connected to terminals 16 and 17 through lines 40, 41, which converts the alternating current generated by the dynamo into direct current and is connected to a battery 43. This battery is on the one hand connected to the ground E and on the other hand is connected by a line 44 and a switch 45 with position lights 46, 47, which are also connected to the ground. If an electrolytic rectifier is used, it also forms a safety device which prevents current from flowing back from the collector battery 43 into the stator windings.
It should also be noted that when a line connected to earth is mentioned above, this is to be understood as a connection to the metal frame of the vehicle, which effects the return of the currents.
