Internal combustion engine with several cylinders arranged in parallel around engine marble. The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine with several cylinders arranged in parallel around the drive shaft, the cylinders of which respectively comprise a single port, intended for the admission of carburized gases and for the exhaust of the gases. burnt and which is controlled by a shutter mounted so as to be able to rotate on an eccentric of the motor shaft.
The appended drawing gives by way of example an embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section thereof; Fig. 2 is a cross section thereof, taken along the line 2-2 of FIG. 1; Fig. 3 is a section taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 1.
In the housings 1 and 2 of this internal combustion engine are arranged the cylinders 3, provided with their pistons 4. The motor shaft 5 rotates in bearings 6 and 7 carried respectively by the housings 1 and 2. On the shaft 5 is provided an inclined journal 8, on which is mounted so as to be able to turn, a disc 9 connected by joints to the universal joint 10, to the pistons 4, so that the reciprocating movements of the pistons 4 can communicate to the disc 9 an alternating movement which in turn will produce the rotation of the motor shaft 5. Each cylinder 3 is provided with a single lumen 11., serving both for the inlet and the outlet of the gas .
These slots 11 are arranged circularly around the motor shaft 5 and are an extension of the exhaust openings 12 made in the .fonds 13 of the casings. Between the outer ends of the cylinders 3 and the bases 13 of the casings, are arranged rotary shutters 14 for the admission and exhaust of the gases. These circular shutters 14 have in the center an opening intended to receive a concentric sleeve 16, integral with a pinion 17 fixed to the shutter by means of bolts 18. These pinions 17 rotate around the eccentric bolts 20, provided on the motor shaft 5. They mesh with slip rings.
Graining 21 with internal teeth, which are fixed by means of bolts 22 to the ends of the casings.
The fuel gas intake pipes 25 are connected to the bottoms 13 and communicate through the openings _6 provided in the bottoms, with central openings 27 formed in the shutters 14. These are provided with channels 30 communicating with the openings. 27 and opening onto the inner face of the shutters. The shutters 14 are further provided with exhaust passages 31 which pass therethrough and which are arranged between the intake openings so that, when the shutters are driven, these intake and exhaust passages will coincide. in suitable sequence with the openings 11 of the cylinders, in order to allow either the admission of the carburized gases into the engine cylinder, or the; outlet of the gases burnt out of these cylinders.
In the shutters 14 are arranged the spark plugs 35, one of the poles of which is placed in relation to the ground, and the other carries a contact member 37 projecting out of the periphery of the shutter and which, at a determined moment, during the rotational movement of the shutter, is brought into contact with a distributor 38, carried by an insulating part 39, fitted in a recess provided in the shutter and which is concentric with the shaft.
