Description
Radiators, especially for hot water heating. The subject matter of the invention is a specific radiator for hot water heating with sheet metal consist of the elements whose cross section is much flatter than that of the ordinary heating body elements by the length: the cross-sectional profile approximately. is six to ten times the greatest width.
The drawing shows the cross section of an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. a denotes the length, h the greatest width of the transverse line cavity of an element. The ratio of approx : b is approximately equal to 7: 1, but it can also be chosen to be somewhat smaller or larger, e.g. within the limits 6: 1 and 10: 1. The wall thickness may be about 0.8 to 1 inch. Sheet steel, copper, iron, aluminum can be used as material.
Such an element is produced by rolling a seamless tube, although it is not stated that the wall must be curved throughout and that the greatest width must always be in the middle. The wall can, for example, be flat in places and the greatest width can be located at one end of the cross section.
Radiators of the type described are light and just as cheap to manufacture as cast radiators of the same size and require little water to heat them without there being any risk of burning. They are also heated significantly more quickly than conventional radiators.
