Die drei Kontaktschienen<I>1,</I> in., u sind mit den Betätigungsspulen<I>d', d"</I> des Ven tils<I>d</I> und den Spulen<I>p', p"</I> des Relais p ver bunden.
Multiple control for electric railways with electropneumatically moved, step-by-step switchable main switchgear. It is known to drive the main switchgear of an electric vehicle by means of an air motor, consisting of a double cylinder in which two pistons are rigidly connected by a rack, the rack engages in the pinion that sits on the drive shaft of the main switchgear.
It is also known to supply the compressed air with which the air motor is operated to each of the two pressure cylinder chambers by means of an electromagnetically controlled valve each and to design these two valves evenly so that when the magnet coil is energized, they connect the compressed air tank to the cylinder interior and at the same time the latter shut off from the outside air, when the magnet coil is not excited, however, bring the inside of the cylinder into contact with the outside air and thereby shut off the compressed air supply line.
However, the known control devices based on the above-mentioned principles generally have significant disadvantages. For example, it has been proposed to activate the main switch to activate or deactivate the desired solenoid valve so that compressed air is allowed into the associated cylinder interior and this again by switching off the valve solenoid to escape as soon as the required switch position is reached.
This type of actuation has the following disadvantages: Firstly, the inside of the cylinder has to be filled with compressed air again for each switching movement, so that a considerable amount of compressed air is used. Second, the exact stopping of the main shift drum a.-4f the shift positions corresponding to the various driving levels is very difficult to achieve, as the flow of compressed air from the cylinder inside into the open requires a relatively long time, during which the air pressure inside the cylinder decreases only gradually and the plunger is pushed further until the dependent on many factors
The very variable friction of the moving system can no longer be overcome and the same comes to rest. Thirdly, if there is no control current, the system remains in the position in which it is currently and can only be brought back to the zero position when the control current is available again. And finally, with the previously known controls of the above type, the gradual switching in both switching directions is either not possible or then only possible by means of a very complex switching device.
The control device according to the present invention does not have any of the disadvantages mentioned above.
According to this, in the event that the control voltage is absent, the unilateral supply of compressed air causes the main switchgear to be automatically returned to the zero position by the air motor.
An example of a non-automatic control is shown in FIG. 1, and such an automatic control is shown in FIG.
First of all, the former according to FIG. 1 is explained. The main switchgear is driven by means of an air motor, consisting of two opposing, single-acting air cylinders a1 and a2, the pistons of which are connected by a toothed rack b. This rack engages in a toothed piston wedged on the drive shaft c. Each air cylinder is respectively through an electromagnetically actuated air valve d. e (short: solenoid valve) controlled. The two air valves are designed equally.
One, designated by d, sets the associated air cylinder a1 in connection with the outside air in the drawn unexcited state of its two coils d 'and d ", while the compressed air supply line f is shut off; the second valve, designated e, has only one Mag netspule e 'and also a compressed air-actuated, spring-loaded locking piston q, which is only lifted and allows the valve e to be lifted when the cylinder a is connected to the compressed air, i.e. the valve d is energized.
Like valve d, valve e establishes the connection of the associated cylinder a2 with the outside air in the de-energized state of its magnetic coil e '; however, this requires that the locking piston q is under compressed air and raised at the same time.
The control device also contains a relay p, which is used to electrically control valve e, and a position switch g, consisting of a contact row 1-6, which can be energized from the driver's cab by means of the control drum s, three Contact rails l, in, n and three sliding brushes h, i, kc coupled to the rack b. The width of the latter is smaller than the distance between two contacts, so that bridging two contacts with a sliding brush cannot take place.
The three contact bars <I> 1, </I> in., U are connected to the actuating coils <I> d ', d "</I> of the valve <I> d </I> and the coils <I> p ', p "</I> of the relay p connected. The contacts 1-6 of the position switch g are connected on the one hand to the pass through the pull lines 1-6, on the other hand to the fixed brushes 1-6 of the control drum s. The current enters at the top brush -S- of the control roller s and exits again (at coils d ', <I> d "</I> and e') at -.
The operation of the control is now as follows: At first the control drum s is in the (drawn) zero position, the control current seholder r is open, so all control lines -f- and 1-6 are dead. The valve coils <I> d ', d "</I> and e' are thus de-energized, the locking cylinder q does not contain any air pressure; its piston is under the pressure of its spring, the force of which significantly outweighs the spring of valve e The cylinder a is in connection with the outside air, the cylinder a = with the compressed air.
The two pistons are in the right-hand end position and the main shift drum on shaft c is in the zero position.
Assuming that the driver sets the control drum s to level III after closing the control current switch r, the control lines 1, 2 and <B> 3 </B> are connected to the + pole of the control current source, while the control lines 4, 5 and 6 stay tension-free. The pneumatic drive apparatus is in the end position 0 shown in FIG. 1 and is now set in motion by energizing the actuating coil d "of the valve d and the actuating coil p" of the relay p by means of the sliding brush will.
As a result, firstly, the valve d brings the cylinder a1 and the locking cylinder q with the compressed air supply line f in connection, whereby the mechanical locking of the Ven tils e is canceled; second, the contact of the relay p opens, whereby the Ven tilspule e 'is de-energized. The valve e is raised, blocks the compressed air and connects the cylinder a2 with the outside air, where the compressed air begins to flow out of it. As a result, the rack b starts moving to the left. Before the sliding brush h runs off the contact 1, the sliding brushes <I> i </I> and k have come into contact with this contact, whereby the coil <I> p '</I> of the relay <I> p , </I> and the coil <I> d '</I> of valve d are also still excited.
Now runs the sliding brush h from contact 1, so he moves thereby the movement of the rack b respectively. the wave c of the Hauptschaltappa rates no interruption. Before the sliding brushes i and k run off again from the first contact, the leading sliding brush h has come into contact with contact 2, which according to the assumption is also under tension, so that the movement of toothed rack b to the left continues uninterrupted . This continues until the dot-dashed position of the sliding brushes h, i, k marked III is reached.
In this position, the sliding brush h is on the de-energized contact 4, so that the lower actuating coil p "of the relay p and the upper coil d" of the valve d are no longer excited. Since the sliding brush i is located between contacts 3 and 4, the upper coil <I> p '</I> of relay <I> p </I> is also not energized. The sliding brush <I> 7- </I> is still in contact with the live contact 3; so that the coil <I> d '</I> of the valve <I> d </I> is energized. The relay p, which is now more unexcited, closes its contact and thus excites the coil e ', whereby the cylinder a2 is brought into connection with the compressed air again.
As a result, the pressure equilibrium is immediately established on both pistons a and az, and the toothed rack stops.
If the driver now sets the control drum s back to level 2, for example, the control line 3 is de-energized. The coil d 'is de-energized, the valve d allows compressed air to flow out of the cylinder a1, whereby a movement of the tooth socket b begins to the right until the sliding brush 7s comes into contact with the contact 2 and by re-energizing the coil d' the movement of the Rack b is stopped immediately. Similarly, you can switch to any stage forwards or backwards.
If there is no control current due to any circumstance, the following happens: All magnet coils are de-energized. By the cylinder al through the valve d with. the outside air is connected, the compressed air also flows out of the locking cylinder q, where its piston is lowered and the cylinder a, by means of the valve e, keeps the cylinder a connected to the compressed air despite the unexcited coil e ', so that the control himself actively returns to the zero position.
How the described electropneumatic control system can be set up for automatic start-up is explained with reference to FIG.
The contacts of position switch g are grouped together as required. In the example of FIG. 2, the distribution into two such groups 1 and 2 is assumed. Only one control line (1 or 2) leads to each group. The derivation of the slide rail 1 is routed via the break contact t of a current limit relay. The same has a winding ic through which the traction current flows and a thin-wire winding v.
The latter is always energized by the sliding brush i and then causes the current limit relay to rise and the contact t to open. It depends on the size of the traction current and the tension of the relay spring whether the current limit relay is kept open by the action of the coil through which the traction current flows. If this is the case, the rack does not continue to run until the traction current has dropped so far that the relay armature is released and the relay contact t closes again, whereupon the game repeats.
On the basis of what has been said for the non-automatic control according to FIG. 1, it is easy to see that the rack can always remain in a precisely defined switching position. The air motor is shown here with a single, double-acting cylinder.
The auxiliary relay w indicated in Fig. 2 above the current limit relay is used to force the start if the current limit relay is set too low or an exceptionally high traction resistance in a curve or on a steep incline would prevent the train from moving. In this case, the driver only has to press pushbutton z and thereby causes the opening contact t of the current limit relay to be bridged by means of the relay w, so that the rack continues to move, but only by a single speed step for each closing of the Push button z.
A trip coil y causes the auxiliary relay w to be put out of action by the current impulse given by the advancing sliding brush i.
