Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de raffinage d'hydrocarbures. Le procédé consiste à traiter un produit de départ constitué d'hydrocarbures à basse température avec de l'énergie électromagnétique (EM) pour vaporiser des hydrocarbures sélectionnés. Les hydrocarbures sélectionnés sont vaporisés à des températures inférieures aux températures de vaporisation de référence d'au moins une partie des espèces incluses dans les hydrocarbures sélectionnés. Les hydrocarbures vaporisés peuvent être condensés à partir de la phase vapeur en vue de leur récupération. Un produit secondaire restant peut comprendre un produit constitué d'hydrocarbures de viscosité plus élevée présentant une viscosité supérieure à celle du produit de départ constitué d'hydrocarbures, tel qu'un bitume durci qui est pratiquement solide à température ambiante.
