Abstract

Conventional grenade launchers, loaded from muzzle have short barrel, short range and big recoil forces transmitted into frame. Claimed grenade launcher has longer barrel and part of recoil forces are self compensated. Invention gives possibility to use in grenade launchers more powerful and long-range grenades without increasing of recoil forces. Technical result is achieved by shot executing in manner "fire-out-of-battery" and using special cartridgeless grenade. For this, grenade launcher has composite barrel, one part of it can fulfill reciprocating movement both under action of gases of carrier and gases of grenade's propellant and grenade is loaded into moveable part only by rear part having rifling. Grenada charged into moveable part of barrel risen by hand lever into charging position. For shot execution moveable part of barrel is returned in back position. Shots' gases bypassed from carrier initiate both igniting of grenade's propellant and executing moving forward of moveable part.

Description

2 Specification Patent application named:
"The design of an under-barrel grenade launcher that: is loaded from the muzzle; is intended for gas operated weapons and works in manner "fire-out-of-battery"*.
The design of a cartridgeless grenade that is assigned for described above the grenade launcher."
Classification This invention relates to military technology and is aimed at improving effectiveness of automatic firearms by usage of improved under-barrel grenade launchers working in manner "fire-out-of-battery"*
(*Above and in all represented documents the term "fire-out-of-battery" means that in this weapon a barrel or its chamber moves forward in initial moment of shoot) The destination and the area of application of the device:
1. The design and manufacturing of improved under-barrel grenade launchers loaded from the muzzle and intended for gas operated weapons, which work in manner "fire-out-of-battery" and have a reduced recoil force.
2. Design and manufacturing of a cartridgeless grenade that is assigned for described above the under-barrel grenade launcher.
The proposals which are given into the patenting process:
1. The design of the under-barrel grenade launcher for gas operated weapons, which is loaded from the muzzle and works in manner "fire-out-of-battery";
3 2. The design of a cartridgeless grenade that is assigned for described above the under-barrel grenade launcher;
3. The under-barrel grenade launcher for gas operated weapons. Fig 2;
4. The under-barrel cartridgeless grenade that is assigned for the grenade launcher claimed above Fig 7 Description In present time, there are different models of under-barrel grenade launchers;
a few model artillery pieces working in manner "fire-out-of-battery" and a few models under-barrel grenade launchers that are loaded from the muzzle.
The existent patent applications selected as a prototype 1. Sherpa Hawkeye 105mm howitzer 2. Grenade launcher M203 of Aircraft Armaments Inc (AAI) 3. Grenade launchers GP-25 u GP-30 Russia 4. 73-mm grenade HEAT-RFL-73N
There are a few fundamental disadvantages of these prototypes ¨
They or can't act as a under-barrel grenade launcher or it have too much level of impact from a shot;
If these under-barrel grenade launchers are loaded from the muzzle, during process of shooting they can, as result of fault, perform a premature shot into arm of the loader.
The invention solves next problems ¨
They can to reduce the level of impact of the shot and, as result, give possibility to use more powerful and long-range charges;
Completely exclude perform a premature shot into arm of the loader as result of technical fault or blunder of loader The claimed novelties and its differences from the existent patent applications Claimed novelty differs from the prototype 1 so:

Prototype 1 is a lightweight howitzer in which working mode "fire-out-of-battery" carries out by action of springs and hydraulic system. Recoil force is dumped by a hydraulic recoil system.
The claimed novelty is the under-barrel grenade launcher. In which, working mode "fire-out-of-battery" carries out by action of powder gases of shoot from a gas operated weapon onto the joined moveable chamber that moves inside LP barrel . Dumping of recoil force is executed by means of a remanent pressure of gas between a head-rounding of LP barrel and a head-rounding of a joined moveable chamber, which squeezed out gases from LP barrel.
Prototype 2 can not to work in mode "fire-out-of-battery" and doesn't be loaded from muzzle.
The claimed novelty works in mode "fire-out-of-battery" and can be loaded from a muzzle.
Prototype 3 can not to work in mode "fire-out-of-battery" and don't has a movable chamber of a barrel that can displace to forward for loading.
Prototype 3 can, as result of fault, perform a premature shot into arm of the loader The claimed novelty works in mode "fire-out-of-battery" and a movable chamber of a barrel can displace to forward for loading.
The claimed novelty completely exclude perform a premature shot into arm of the loader as result of technical fault or blunder of loader Prototype 4 can not to apply in mode "fire-out-of-battery" and don't be launched from an under-barrel, rifled grenade launcher. It is a grenade for a cup-shaped grenade launcher.
The claimed novelty is intended to work in mode "fire-out-of-battery" and can be launched from an under-barrel rifling grenade launcher.
Specified technical result is achieved by:
1. Reducing impact of shot by working in manner "fire-out-of-battery";
2. Composite barrel usage, which consist of three main parts ¨ of light weight low pressure barrel (hereinafter LP) and a medium pressure barrel (hereinafter MP) integrated with a high pressure barrel (hereinafter MP) which form a joined moveable chamber that moves inside of a LP barrel;
3. Loading of a grenade carries out from a muzzle when movable composite chamber is put forward into loading position Fig 2, Fig 3;
5 4. When the grenade leaves the chamber during of shoot, chamber changes direction of movement to forward at movement to rearward and compensates and dumps impact of shot arising of grenade leaving from LP barrel. Fig 5;
5. Ignition of a propellant charge of a grenade and an initial movement of a chamber are carried out by means of usage of powder gases from recharging system of gas operated weapons on which this grenade launcher is assembled. Fig 9 3D disassembling and specification of parts of grenade launcher are viewed in Fig 1.
Such the under-barrel grenade launcher can only use a grenade specially designed for him The specific features of the grenade Fig 7, Fig 8 intended for this under-barrel grenade launcher described above are:
1. The grenade is inserted into the rifled moveable chamber only by rear part having high-pattern ready rifling.
2. All of a propellant charge is located inside rear part of the grenade.
3. The propellant charge is ignited by means of usage of outward powder gases 4. There is a charging cuts on front side of the grenade The grenade launcher claimed above works in manner described below.
The grenade launcher is installed on gas operated weapon thereby, that, for execute of shot, it can receive powder gases from this gas operated weapon.
As an example described on Fig 9, powder gases, for initiating of grenade shot, are supplied through the feeder of powder gases from the cock o the safety lever of the grenade launcher.
6 For loading of the grenade launcher, the movable chamber that is consist of joined together HP and LP barrels, is pulled out into charging position by a charging handle.
A grenade is put up into LP barrel and is rotated thereby that a rifling of the grenade comes into a rifling of chamber. Fig 2, Fig 3 After that, the chamber is moved onto the shot position up to that the male union of the launcher puts into the inlet port of the grenade. Fig 4 In initial moment of shoot, powder gases from a gas operated weapon, which coming into the LP barrel of the grenade launcher, relocates forward a movable chamber and carries out mode "fire-out-of-battery" and, after that, they initiates a propellant charge in the grenade. Fig 4 When a propellant charge of the grenade is ignited, the grenade leaves the rifled chamber and realizes shoot out of LP barrel. In this time, under influence of gases of a propellant charge the chamber goes backward and partly compensates recoil force of this shoot.
Fig 5, Fig 6.
