Abstract

La présente invention concerne, de façon générale, un appareil d'anesthésie continue de la conduction nerveuse et une méthode associée, et, plus particulièrement, une méthode et un système utilisables pour l'administration d'un flux continu ou d'un bolus intermittent d'agent anesthésiant afin de permettre un blocage nerveux continu ou prolongé. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'appareil comprend une gaine dotée d'une extrémité proximale, d'une extrémité distale et d'au moins une lumière qui s'étend depuis l'extrémité proximale jusqu'à l'extrémité distale. Ladite gaine comporte également un élément conducteur intégré assurant la transmission d'un signal électrique depuis une partie proximale de la gaine jusqu'à une partie distale de la gaine. Une canule est disposée dans la/les lumières de la gaine et comprend une extrémité distale faisant saillie depuis une partie distale de la gaine. La canule est électriquement raccordée à au moins une partie de l'élément conducteur intégré et elle est conçue pour assurer une stimulation nerveuse.
