Abstract

Cette invention porte sur un procédé de production d'une composition de pétrole brute à partir de sable bitumineux à l'aide d'un solvant constitué d'un mélange d'hydrocarbures pour extraire ou seulement éliminer une partie du bitume présent sur le sable bitumineux. Le type de solvant et la manière avec laquelle le procédé d'extraction est effectué ont des conséquences importantes sur la qualité du composant pétrole extrait. Le solvant est conçu pour avoir les paramètres de solubilité de Hansen voulus, ceux-ci permettant l'extraction partielle de la composition de pétrole voulue. Le solvant est en outre conçu pour être constitué de multiples hydrocarbures ayant les plages de points d'ébullition appropriées qui permettent de récupérer et de recycler facilement le solvant, sans avoir à compléter le solvant de façon externe.
