- la figure 1 est une coupe longitudinale d'une vanne thermostatique conforme à l'invention ;
A titre d'exemples :
- dans la forme de réalisation présentée jusqu'ici, le boîtier monobloc 1, qui est rapporté par surmoulage dans la partie terminale 44 du tube 42 et qui incorpore la connexion électrique entre les extrémités 63 des fils 62 et les extrémités 92 des plots de branchement 9, constitue la totalité du boîtier externe de la vanne représentée ; en variante, ce boîtier monobloc peut ne correspondre qu'a une partie seulement du boîtier de vanne, en étant notamment prévu pour être assemblé à un autre élément de boîtier ad hoc;
AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND
THERMOSTATIC VALVE COMPRISING SUCH AN ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a heating assembly for a valve thermostatic method, as well as a method of manufacturing such a set of heater.
It also relates to a thermostatic valve comprising such a set of heating.
In many applications in the fluidic field, particularly for the cooling of thermal engines of vehicles, valves thermostats are used to distribute a fluid entering different ways of circulation, depending on the temperature of this fluid. These valves are say thermostatic in the sense that the displacement of their shutter (s) internal (s) is controlled by a thermostatic element, that is to say an element that comprises a cup containing a thermally expandable material and a piston slidably movable relative to the cup under the action of the material thermodilatable when it expands.
To distribute the fluid according to other parameters, including conditions outside the valve like the ambient temperature or the load of vehicle powered by the engine equipped with the valve, it is known to integrate with the valve an electric heating of the thermo-expandable material, which allows control the valve from outside the valve, independently or complement the temperature of the incoming fluid, in particular by means of a calculator embedded in the vehicle and programmed appropriately. In practice, electric heating means, such as a heating resistor, are arranged inside the aforementioned piston or a similar tube: by immobilizing, by example, the piston to the outer casing of the valve, the power supply of the resistance causes a rise in temperature of the thermosettable material, this which causes, by dilation of the latter, the sliding of the cup around piston, a shutter being carried by this cup to act on the traffic fluid through the valve.
To electrically power the heating means, a possibility known is to provide connectors the valve housing, to connect electrically conductive wires, belonging to the means of heating, and power pads connected to a power source external. 2 In this context, DE-A-103 03 133 proposed reinforcing the resistance mechanics of the connection between the housing and the tube, realizing less part of this housing by molding a plastic material injected from else a flat flange, provided at the end of the tube in a radial plane to this tube end. This radical solution proves in practice difficult to achieve, in the sense that it requires the availability of suitable injection molds, at the times, to each of the shapes and sizes that can be envisaged for the tube and positioning axial precise that it is desired to obtain for the tube relative to the housing. The cost of molding becomes unacceptable to satisfy different geometries housings.
The object of the present invention is to propose a heating assembly whose solidarization between its tube and its housing is at the same time resistant and precisely adaptable to various geometries of heating assemblies, while by being economical to achieve.
For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a heating assembly for a thermostatic valve for regulating a fluid, as defined in claim 1.
The idea underlying the invention is not to seek to achieve the housing in plastic coating all the end part of the tube, which is rudimentary, and imprecise, but overmoulding the inside of the end free from tube, flared specifically. To do this, this flared end has an overmoulding face, turned away from the rest of the tube, including components both radial and axial with respect to the axis of the tube: the radial component of the overmolding interface between the tube and the housing allows a good transmission of the axial stresses, which avoids, in service, that the tube does not damage the casing, in particular by shearing it, while the axial component of this interface allows, on the one hand, to improve the transversal positioning of the housing, in particular by facilitating the placement of injection molds of the plastic material of the housing, and, on the other hand, to cash transversal constraints.
Thanks to the advantageous arrangement according to the claim dependent 2, the flared end of the tube can thus serve as a reliable reference and precise to impose the relative axial positioning of the housing during its molding, with a corresponding adjustment of injection molds. In other words, it is the molding tool that gives the tube its functional length useful, in 3 precisely controlling the relative axial positioning of the tube and the housing, what avoiding the provision of reported adjustment means, such as adjustment by screwing, shims added, etc.
Thanks to the advantageous arrangements according to the claim dependent 3, the seal, which is defined in this claim and which, in practical, is a form seal, allows to seal the inside of the tube. In addition, the closing mold injection housing can be done on this joint, which allows accommodate dispersions of the relative axial positioning of the tube.
Other advantageous features of the heating assembly according to the invention, taken in isolation or in any combination technically possible, are specified in dependent claims 4 to 7.
The invention also relates to a thermostatic control valve a fluid as defined in claim 8.
The invention furthermore relates to a method for manufacturing a set for a thermostatic valve for regulating a fluid, such as defined in claim 9.
The method according to the invention makes it possible to manufacture a heating assembly as defined above.
Advantageous features of this process are specified in dependent claim 10.
The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given only by way of example and made with reference to the drawings on which :
- Figure 1 is a longitudinal section of a thermostatic valve according to the invention;
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a heating assembly belonging to the valve of Figure 1; and FIGS. 3 and 4 are sections according to plane III of FIG.
Figure 2 and line IV-IV of Figure 3 In Figure 1 is shown a thermostatic valve having a housing 1 of plastic material, in which is intended to circulate, so regulated by the other components of the valve, a fluid, especially a liquid cooling when the valve belongs to a cooling circuit for 4 a heat engine.
The housing 1 comprises a tubular monobloc main body 11, here of overall shape rectilinear and centered around an axis XX belonging to the plan section of FIG. 1. In use, the aforementioned fluid flows through the body 11, between its two longitudinal ends, being regulated, here at the level of a of these ends, by a shutter valve 2 centered on the axis XX and movable translation along this axis: when this valve is pressed tightly against a seat 12 defined by the aforementioned end of the body 11, as shown sure FIG. 1, the fluid flow is interrupted, whereas when the flapper 2 is spaced from the seat 12, the fluid can circulate freely around the valve and so enter or leave the body 11.
In practice, various embodiments can be envisaged with regard to relates to the body 11 and the valve 2, without being limiting of the invention.
Advantageously, the housing 1 comprises an annular flange 13 surrounding orthoradially the body 11, being made in one piece with this body.
As clearly visible in FIGS. 1 to 3, this flange 13 is provided with two inserts 7 reported metal, for fixing the housing 1 to a structure carrier not shown. In the example shown, each of these inserts 7 is present in the form of a split ring, through which it is intended to thread a screw whose head abuts against the end edge of the ring.
Other embodiments are possible for these metal inserts 7 as long as they support without damage the fastening constraints of the housing 1, rather than the latter directly supports these constraints, with the risk that its plastic material will be damaged, for example by creep or by rupture.
To control the movement of the valve 2, the thermostatic valve comprises a thermostatic element 4 comprising, in a manner well known in the field, on the one hand a cup 41, which contains a material thermo, not visible in the figures, and around which is firmly fixed the valve 2, for example by fitting, and secondly a piston 42, which plunges into part in the cup 41 and which is displaceable in translation along its axis longitudinal center under the action of the dilatation of the material thermo contained in this cup. The thermostatic element is arranged vis-à-vis the housing 1 so that, on the one hand, its piston 42 is centered on the axis X-X and, on the other hand, this piston is fixedly connected to the body 11, here at a bridge of plastic 14 which is in one piece with the body 11 and which connects, in through the body 11, two diametrically opposite zones of this body, such as visible in Figure 3 and as specified in more detail below. So, in service, the piston 42 is fixed relative to the housing 1, while the cup 41 and the valve 2 that it carries are movable along the axis XX with respect to the housing, under the effect thermodilatable material when it expands, or when this material contracts, under the opposite effect of a return spring 5 interposed enter the valve 2 and a stirrup 3 which, in use, is fixedly linked to two legs 15 goings of material with the flange 13.
For convenience, the rest of the description is oriented with respect to the X axis.
X: the lower and lower terms describe a directed axial direction around the cup 41 of the thermostatic element 4, while the upper terms and top qualify a direction of opposite sense.
The thermostatic valve comprises an electric heating resistor 6 which, as shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1, is arranged inside the piston 42, made for this purpose in the form of a metal tube, here based circular, of way that the main heating body 61 of this resistance occupies the part lower end 43 of the piston 42, that is to say its end portion plunging in the cup 41, so that the heating body 61 can heat the material thermodilatable contained in this cup.
In its upper end portion 44, the piston 42 is shaped with a free end 45 flared outwards: as clearly visible on the Figures 1 and 4, this flared end 45 consists of an annular flange 46, centered on the axis XX, and a shoulder wall 47, inscribed in a plane perpendicular to the axis XX and thus radially connecting the lower end of the collar 46 to the upper end of the remainder of the end portion 44. Advantageously, the flange 46 and shoulder wall 47 are here monobloc with the rest of the part end 44, in particular being obtained by stamping the end free 45.
The end portion 44 of the piston 42 is secured to the housing 1, with 6 interposition of a seal 8. More precisely, the transverse bridge 14 of body 11 is integrally bonded to the piston end portion 44 by overmoulding the latter, extending axially from a single axial side of this part piston end 44: the transverse bridge 14 thus includes a lower pin occupying the internal volume of the piston end portion 44, as well visible in Figure 4.
This pin 16 surrounds the inner peripheral portion 82 of the annular body 81 of the gasket 8, while the outer peripheral portion 83 of the gasket 81 is encased by the remainder of the underside of the transverse bridge 14. The body 81 of seal 8 is provided with a lower groove 85, which is hollowed upwards since the lower face of the body 81, radially between its parts 82 and 83. This groove 85 is dimensioned to receive in a complementary manner the flange 46 of the flared free end 45 of the piston 42, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 4.
To manufacture the heating assembly of Figures 2 to 4 from the piston 42, in particular with its end portion 44 flared outwardly at the level of its free end 45, the gasket 8 is reported on the flared free end 45, in threading the flange 46 inside the groove 85. Part 83 of the joint body 81 surrounds then externally the collar 46 while the joint part leans axially against a portion of the shoulder wall 47. It is then placed the piston 42, provided with the gasket 8, in a plastic injection mold M
represented only partially and schematically in the part left of FIG. 4: this mold M is pressed in a sealed manner against the part of joint 83 so that this mold is thus closed on the gasket 8. Of the material plastic material is then injected into the mold, in order to mold the case 1 by overmoulding of the end portion 44 of the piston 42: the plastic material is spreading inside this piston portion 44 and surrounds the seal portion 82, forming thus the pin 16 of the transverse bridge 14, while the remainder of this bridge 14, the body 11 and the flange 13 are jointly formed by the remainder of the material plastic injected into the mold M, advantageously by overmolding the flange 13 directly around the inserts 7 placed beforehand in the mold.
In order to electrically connect the heating resistor 6 and a external current source, two electrical conduction wires 62 from the main heating body 61 are respectively electrically connected to of the connection pads 9 whose free ends 91 are accessible to outside the housing 1 to be connected to the aforementioned external power source. In convenient, before overmolding the housing 1, the heating body 61 is placed at inside the end portion 43 of the piston 42 so that the wires 62, which are connected to this heating body 61, or even constitute its ends, extend up to the outside of the piston 42, passing through the end portion 44 where they emergent upwards, as shown in FIG.
free respectively 63 shown in FIG. 3. These free ends 63 are connected, for example by welding or brazing, at one end 92 of the pads 9, opposite to their end 91. Then, when producing the housing 1 by overmolding, the plastic material injected to form the transverse bridge coats the portions of the wires 62 located at the piston portion 44, all in extending this bridge outside the body 11, forming an arm of matter protruding plastic 17 which coats the ends of wire 63 and the ends of plot 92.
The ends of the stud 91 are left bare, advantageously being remotely surrounded by a base 18 for connecting the power source external, which base 18 has come from molding at the free end of the arm 17.
In practice, the coating of the wire ends 63 and the ends of the stud 92, previously electrically connected to one another, can be made directly around these ends, by injecting the material plastic forming the arm 17 together with the rest of the housing 1. Or, for limit the risk of damaging the connection under the pressure of the plastic injected, a pre-injection can be carried out locally beforehand for wrap the connection between the wires 62 and the pads 9, preferably in the same mold as the subsequent main injection. In any case, this connection is incorporated in the plastic mass of the housing 1, within of arm 17 of the latter.
When the thermostatic valve is in operation, the piston 42 is pressed against the transverse bridge 14 under the action of the thermostatic element 4 and of return spring 5: the corresponding axial stresses are transmitted at through the upper face 47A of the shoulder wall 47. The radial dimension this 47A face guarantees reliable transmission of effort without damage to the bridge 14 and, more generally, to the casing 1. Furthermore, the seal 8 tight inside the piston 42 vis-à-vis the fluid flowing in the body 11 of the case 1.
In addition, it is understood that the axial positioning of the piston 42 with respect to to the housing 1 is directly dependent on the tool dimension of the mold of overmolding M, associated with a corresponding stop provided on the lower end of the piston. However, this relative axial positioning is decisive for the element thermostatic 4 and the return spring 5 operate in a range of predetermined axial stresses with respect to the casing 1. Thanks to the fact that the casing 1 is overmoulded, the positioning of a piston 42 is controlled without have to integrate additional adjustment systems within the valve thermostatic, such as screw-in systems, shims added, etc. In Moreover, insofar as the injection mold M is closed on the gasket 8, dispersions of this relative positioning, typically of the order of + 0.5 mm, can be accommodated by the seal, more specifically by axial crushing of seal.
By adjusting the relative axial positioning between the housing 1 and the piston 42 during the molding of the housing, the heating assembly can be made precisely with different geometries, while guaranteeing good mechanical strength of the housing, and with a low manufacturing cost.
Various arrangements and variants to the heating assembly and the valve thermostatic described so far are also possible. As examples:
in the embodiment presented so far, the monobloc housing 1, which is reported by overmolding in the end portion 44 of the tube 42 and which incorporates the electrical connection between the ends 63 of the wires 62 and the ends 92 of the connection pads 9, constitutes the entire housing external the valve shown; alternatively, this one-piece housing can not correspond only part of the valve housing, in particular being provided for be assembled to another ad hoc enclosure element;
the housing 1 can be attached by overmolding in the free end flared 45 of the piston 42, without the interposition of a partially coated joint, such as the gasket 8; in this case, the sealing of the piston can be reinforced by a joint9 reported after molding the housing; and or in the embodiment considered in the figures, the tube of the heating cartridge, in which the heating resistor 6 is arranged, constitutes the piston 42 of the thermostatic element 4; for other forms of construction of thermostatic valves, this tube of the heating cartridge and the piston of the thermostatic element, whose thermodilatable material is heated by the heating resistor belonging to the heating assembly, can consist of two separate pieces; in this case, usually the tube of the heating assembly extends through the bottom of the cup of the element thermostatic, opposite the piston of this element.
