Abstract

Il est décrit une méthode pour réduire le taux dappauvrissement de lalcalinité (déterminé par lASTM D2896) dune composition dhuile de lubrification utilisée dans un moteur. La composition dhuile de lubrification comprend au moins un détergent dalcali surbasique ou de métal terreux alcalin. La méthode comprend lajout à la composition dhuile de lubrification dun ou de plusieurs composés de formule I (voir la formule I) : x étant de 1 à 50, préférablement de 1 à 40 et plus encore de 1 à 30; R1 et R2 étant H, des groupes dhydrocarbyles ayant de 1 à 12 atomes de carbone ou des groupes dhydrocarbyles ayant de 1 à 12 atomes de carbone et au moins un hétéroatome; R étant un groupe dhydrocarbyles ayant de 9 à 100, préférablement de 9 à 70 et plus encore de 9 à 50 atomes de carbone; n étant de 0 à 10 ou des sels de métal terreux alcalin. Les composés de formule I sont de préférence des alkylphénols à pont de méthylène ou des alkylphénols à pont de méthylène éthoxylés.
