Abstract

L'invention porte sur une plate-forme flottante pour forage, production, stockage ou autres applications, particulièrement appropriés pour des eaux glaciales, laquelle plate-forme comprend une coque ayant une paroi latérale externe qui est principalement symétrique par rapport à un axe central vertical de la plate-forme et est fermée, à une extrémité inférieure, par un fond, un pont sur l'extrémité supérieure de la coque équipée de façon commode selon l'application envisagée, le tirant d'eau de la plate-forme étant considérablement inférieur au diamètre de la plate-forme et le centre de flottabilité de la plate-forme pour la partie immergée étant situé plus bas que le centre de gravité de la plate-forme. La plate-forme flottante selon l'invention est caractérisée en ce que le côté latéral principalement symétrique de la coque comprend au moins trois parties comptées à partir de la partie supérieure de la coque : une partie niveau d'eau présentant un diamètre décroissant dans la direction vers le bas le long de l'axe central, dans laquelle le niveau d'eau devrait être positionné pendant un fonctionnement dans des eaux glaciales, une partie intermédiaire présentant une forme cylindrique et une partie inférieure présentant un diamètre croissant dans la direction vers le bas le long de l'axe central. L'invention porte également sur un procédé de fonctionnement de la plate-forme dans des eaux glaciales.
