Abstract
Disclosed is a cleaning apparatus (1) comprising a support member (2) on which a cleaning member (3) that is embodied in the shape of a hexagon or a lemon from a top view can be removably fastened. The support member (2) is provided with a boundary edge (4) while the cleaning member (3) protrudes past the boundary edge (4) of the support member (2).
Description
CLEANING DEVICE
Description Technical Field The invention relates to a cleaning device including a supporting body to which a cleaning body that is hexagonal or lemon-shaped in plan view is removably fastened, whereby the supporting body includes a boundary edge.
Prior Art Such cleaning devices are known from DE 201 20 211 Ul. This known cleaning device has a plate-shaped supporting body with holding bars connected to one side by which a cleaning body constructed as a sponge can be removably fixed to the supporting body. The known cleaning device is predominantly used for the cleaning of windows of motor vehicles, which are mostly of convex construction. For the cleaning of concave surfaces, for example in the sanitary field, it is disadvantageous that the cleaning body is strongly compressed in the region of its boundary edge and that the boundary edge of the supporting body can come into contact with the surface to be cleaned. The object to be cleaned can thereby be damaged and the cleaning result is worsened.
Description of the Invention It is an object of the invention to provide a cleaning device which has an improved cleaning effect on concavely constructed surfaces.
This object is achieved with the features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments are dealt with in the dependent claims.
For the achievement of this object, the cleaning body extends beyond the boundary edge of the supporting body. The cleaning body is thereby flexibly constructed and, therefore, follows the contour of the object to be cleaned. The boundary edge can then not come into contact with the object to be cleaned. However, the contact pressure of the cleaning body on the object to be cleaned in the region of the boundary edge is increased, so that an improved cleaning effect is achieved, especially on more strongly concave, curved surfaces. The cleaning device is therefore especially suited for the cleaning of objects in the sanitary field. The contour of the cleaning body is formed by at least two lines which meet at a point in at least two locations. In one embodiment, the cleaning body is constructed to be lemon-shaped in plan view. The cleaning effect in hard to reach corners is improved with the two points. The supporting body has a similar shape in this embodiment. In another embodiment, the cleaning body is hexagonally shaped. In this embodiment, at least two points are achieved which improve the cleaning of hard to reach corners and, furthermore, at least two straight edges are achieved, which can be engaged with straight edges of the object to be cleaned. In accordance with the invention, the cleaning body is constructed such that it can be brought directly into contact with the surface to be cleaned. For example, it can be made of an open-porous foam which has a high water absorption capacity, so that the cleaning body can be soaked with cleaning liquid. The fastening of the cleaning body to the supporting body is preferably carried out in such a way that it is easily removable for exchange.
The cleaning body can have a longitudinal extent and a transverse extent, whereby the longitudinal extent is larger than the transverse extent. In this embodiment, one mopping direction with a wide mopping area is achieved and a further mopping direction in which narrow areas are especially well reachable.
The supporting body can be provided with a handle. The connection can thereby be achieved by a joint, whereby the flexibility is increased. The ergonomics of the cleaning device are improved by the handle, since low surfaces can be reached without bending over. Furthermore, the cleaning force can be easily adjusted by way of the handle and the cleaning device can also be operated with both hands.
The handle can have the length of 32 to 140 cm. The cleaning device however has small space requirements and can also be used, with the help of the handle, for the cleaning of surfaces which are located above the floor level.
The cleaning body can be non-positively or positively connected to the supporting body. The cleaning body is thereby easily and non-destructively detachable from the supporting body, for example, for the fastening to the supporting body of another cleaning body adapted for another cleaning purpose, or for replacement of the cleaning body by a new cleaning body. In one embodiment, the fastening can be achieved by way of a dovetail connection or another clamping connection.
The cleaning body can be fastenable to the supporting body way of a hook and loop fastener. The hook and loop fastener provides a strong fastening with simultaneous detachability. The fastening is especially simple and the connection can be stronger during the cleaning.
The hooks of the hook and loop fastener can be made of the same material as and integral with the supporting body. A hook and loop fastener includes hooks and loops, whereby hooks and loops are brought in contact with another for the fastening and then hook into one another. The loops can be formed by a polyamide fabric, which is positioned on the side of the cleaning body facing the supporting body. By making the hooks and the supporting body in one unit and of the same material, the manufacturing steps and the manufacturing costs of the cleaning device are reduced.
The cleaning body can be made of a foam material. The cleaning body can be made of a polyurethane or cellulose foam, which can also be open-porous. Foam materials, especially open-porous foam materials are characterized by a high water absorption capacity. Furthermore, depending on its construction, this foam material is very flexible at least in the wet condition.
The cleaning body can have an abrasive layer. The abrasive layer can be formed by comminuted polyurethane particles. The cleaning effect with respect to strongly adhered dirt, for example soap borders in bathtubs, is improved by the abrasive layer.
The abrasive layer can also consist of fibers which are impregnated with an adhesive.
The cleaning body preferably extends at least one centimeter beyond the boundary edge of the supporting body. This results in a high flexibility of the cleaning body.
A cleaning cloth can be fastened to the supporting body. The spectrum range of possible uses of the cleaning device is expanded by using an additionally mountable cleaning cloth. Depending on the construction of the cleaning cloth, the cleaning device can be used for dust mopping or for the intermediate damp cleaning of floors.
In the first embodiment, dry non-woven fabric cloths can be clamped on, for example, and in the second embodiment, cleaning cloths premoistened with a cleaning solution can be clamped on.
The cleaning body can have a protrusion which is essentially complementary to a recess of the supporting body. The protrusion can at the same time serve as a handle and as a fastening element. At least two opposite sides of the protrusion can thereby be formed as a dovetail profile, whereby the protrusion engages a recess of complementary shape in the supporting body.
Description Technical Field The invention relates to a cleaning device including a supporting body to which a cleaning body that is hexagonal or lemon-shaped in plan view is removably fastened, whereby the supporting body includes a boundary edge.
Prior Art Such cleaning devices are known from DE 201 20 211 Ul. This known cleaning device has a plate-shaped supporting body with holding bars connected to one side by which a cleaning body constructed as a sponge can be removably fixed to the supporting body. The known cleaning device is predominantly used for the cleaning of windows of motor vehicles, which are mostly of convex construction. For the cleaning of concave surfaces, for example in the sanitary field, it is disadvantageous that the cleaning body is strongly compressed in the region of its boundary edge and that the boundary edge of the supporting body can come into contact with the surface to be cleaned. The object to be cleaned can thereby be damaged and the cleaning result is worsened.
Description of the Invention It is an object of the invention to provide a cleaning device which has an improved cleaning effect on concavely constructed surfaces.
This object is achieved with the features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments are dealt with in the dependent claims.
For the achievement of this object, the cleaning body extends beyond the boundary edge of the supporting body. The cleaning body is thereby flexibly constructed and, therefore, follows the contour of the object to be cleaned. The boundary edge can then not come into contact with the object to be cleaned. However, the contact pressure of the cleaning body on the object to be cleaned in the region of the boundary edge is increased, so that an improved cleaning effect is achieved, especially on more strongly concave, curved surfaces. The cleaning device is therefore especially suited for the cleaning of objects in the sanitary field. The contour of the cleaning body is formed by at least two lines which meet at a point in at least two locations. In one embodiment, the cleaning body is constructed to be lemon-shaped in plan view. The cleaning effect in hard to reach corners is improved with the two points. The supporting body has a similar shape in this embodiment. In another embodiment, the cleaning body is hexagonally shaped. In this embodiment, at least two points are achieved which improve the cleaning of hard to reach corners and, furthermore, at least two straight edges are achieved, which can be engaged with straight edges of the object to be cleaned. In accordance with the invention, the cleaning body is constructed such that it can be brought directly into contact with the surface to be cleaned. For example, it can be made of an open-porous foam which has a high water absorption capacity, so that the cleaning body can be soaked with cleaning liquid. The fastening of the cleaning body to the supporting body is preferably carried out in such a way that it is easily removable for exchange.
The cleaning body can have a longitudinal extent and a transverse extent, whereby the longitudinal extent is larger than the transverse extent. In this embodiment, one mopping direction with a wide mopping area is achieved and a further mopping direction in which narrow areas are especially well reachable.
The supporting body can be provided with a handle. The connection can thereby be achieved by a joint, whereby the flexibility is increased. The ergonomics of the cleaning device are improved by the handle, since low surfaces can be reached without bending over. Furthermore, the cleaning force can be easily adjusted by way of the handle and the cleaning device can also be operated with both hands.
The handle can have the length of 32 to 140 cm. The cleaning device however has small space requirements and can also be used, with the help of the handle, for the cleaning of surfaces which are located above the floor level.

The hooks of the hook and loop fastener can be made of the same material as and integral with the supporting body. A hook and loop fastener includes hooks and loops, whereby hooks and loops are brought in contact with another for the fastening and then hook into one another. The loops can be formed by a polyamide fabric, which is positioned on the side of the cleaning body facing the supporting body. By making the hooks and the supporting body in one unit and of the same material, the manufacturing steps and the manufacturing costs of the cleaning device are reduced.
The cleaning body can be made of a foam material. The cleaning body can be made of a polyurethane or cellulose foam, which can also be open-porous. Foam materials, especially open-porous foam materials are characterized by a high water absorption capacity. Furthermore, depending on its construction, this foam material is very flexible at least in the wet condition.
The cleaning body can have an abrasive layer. The abrasive layer can be formed by comminuted polyurethane particles. The cleaning effect with respect to strongly adhered dirt, for example soap borders in bathtubs, is improved by the abrasive layer.
The abrasive layer can also consist of fibers which are impregnated with an adhesive.
The cleaning body preferably extends at least one centimeter beyond the boundary edge of the supporting body. This results in a high flexibility of the cleaning body.
A cleaning cloth can be fastened to the supporting body. The spectrum range of possible uses of the cleaning device is expanded by using an additionally mountable cleaning cloth. Depending on the construction of the cleaning cloth, the cleaning device can be used for dust mopping or for the intermediate damp cleaning of floors.
In the first embodiment, dry non-woven fabric cloths can be clamped on, for example, and in the second embodiment, cleaning cloths premoistened with a cleaning solution can be clamped on.
The cleaning body can have a protrusion which is essentially complementary to a recess of the supporting body. The protrusion can at the same time serve as a handle and as a fastening element. Embodiments of the Invention Figure 1 shows a cleaning device 1, which includes a supporting body 2 onto which a cleaning body 3 can be fastened to be non-destructively and easily detachable.
The supporting body 2 is made of an injection molded plastic and has a peripheral boundary edge 4. The cleaning body 3 which is fixed to the supporting body 2 by way of a hook and loop connection 12, extends by at least 1 cm beyond the boundary edge 4 of the supporting body 2. The cleaning body 3 is non-positively and positively connected by the hook and loop connection 12 to the supporting body 2. The cleaning body has a longitudinal extent 5 and a transverse extent 6, whereby the longitudinal extent 5 is larger than the transverse extent 6. Furthermore, the cleaning body 3 is of hexagonal shape in this embodiment. The supporting body 2 is connected with a handle 11, which in this embodiment has a length of 75 cm. The handle 11 is jointedly connected with the supporting body 2 by a cardanic joint 19. In the following, the handle 11 can also be illustrated as a threaded connection. The cleaning body 3 is made of an open-celled polyurethane foam material and has an abrasive layer 14 on the side directed towards the surface to be cleaned. The cleaning body 3 is also constructed such that it can be brought directly into contact with the floor to be cleaned.
Figure 2 shows a cleaning device 1 according to Figure 1, whereby the contour of the cleaning body 3 is defined by only two lines 7, 8 which merge in a point at two locations 9 and 10. The cleaning body thereby has a lemon-shaped basic shape.
Figure 3 shows a cleaning device 1 according to Figure 1, whereby the handle 11 is in this embodiment telescopic and has a selectable length of 30 to 140 cm.
Figure 4 shows a cleaning device according to Figure 1 to which supporting body 2 a cleaning cloth 15 is fastened, in this embodiment made of a non-woven fabric. For the 5 fastening, the supporting body 2 has soft clips 18 made of an elastic material through which the cleaning cloth 15 is easily fastenable and removable from the supporting body.
Figure 5 shows a cleaning device according to Figure 1 in exploded illustration. It is shown that the hooks 13 of the hook and loop fastener 12 are made of the same material as and integral with the supporting body 2. The loops 20 which form part of the hook and loop fastener are formed by a fleece which consists of velour or polyamide fabric. The loops 20 are fastened on the side of the supporting body which faces the cleaning body 3.
Figure 6 shows a cleaning device 1, which includes a supporting body 2 to which a cleaning body 3 can be removably fastened. The supporting body 2 is made of an injection molded plastic part and has a peripheral boundary edge 4. The cleaning body 3, which is fixed to the supporting body 2 by a positive connection, extends by at least 1 cm beyond the boundary edge 4 of the supporting body 2. The cleaning body 3 has a longitudinal extent 5 and a transverse extent 6, whereby the longitudinal extent 5 is larger than the transverse extend 6. Furthermore, the cleaning body 3 is hexagonally shaped in this embodiment. The supporting body 2 is provided with a handle 11. The cleaning body is made of an open celled polyurethane foam material and has an abrasive layer 14 on the side facing the surface to be cleaned. For the fastening of the cleaning body 3 to the supporting body 2, the cleaning body 3 has a protrusion 16 which is shaped complementary to a recess 17 in the supporting body 2. The lateral surfaces of the protrusion and of the recess are thereby constructed in dovetail shape.
Figure 7 shows a cleaning body 3 which is suited for fastening in a cleaning device 1 according to Figure 6. The cleaning body 3 has a protrusion 16, the lateral surfaces 20 of which, when viewed in cross-section, are constructed in dovetail shape.

Embodiments of the Invention Figure 1 shows a cleaning device 1, which includes a supporting body 2 onto which a cleaning body 3 can be fastened to be non-destructively and easily detachable.
The supporting body 2 is made of an injection molded plastic and has a peripheral boundary edge 4. The cleaning body 3 which is fixed to the supporting body 2 by way of a hook and loop connection 12, extends by at least 1 cm beyond the boundary edge 4 of the supporting body 2. The cleaning body 3 is non-positively and positively connected by the hook and loop connection 12 to the supporting body 2. The cleaning body has a longitudinal extent 5 and a transverse extent 6, whereby the longitudinal extent 5 is larger than the transverse extent 6. Furthermore, the cleaning body 3 is of hexagonal shape in this embodiment. The supporting body 2 is connected with a handle 11, which in this embodiment has a length of 75 cm. The handle 11 is jointedly connected with the supporting body 2 by a cardanic joint 19. In the following, the handle 11 can also be illustrated as a threaded connection. The cleaning body 3 is made of an open-celled polyurethane foam material and has an abrasive layer 14 on the side directed towards the surface to be cleaned. The cleaning body 3 is also constructed such that it can be brought directly into contact with the floor to be cleaned.
Figure 2 shows a cleaning device 1 according to Figure 1, whereby the contour of the cleaning body 3 is defined by only two lines 7, 8 which merge in a point at two locations 9 and 10. The cleaning body thereby has a lemon-shaped basic shape.
Figure 3 shows a cleaning device 1 according to Figure 1, whereby the handle 11 is in this embodiment telescopic and has a selectable length of 30 to 140 cm.
Figure 4 shows a cleaning device according to Figure 1 to which supporting body 2 a cleaning cloth 15 is fastened, in this embodiment made of a non-woven fabric. For the 5 fastening, the supporting body 2 has soft clips 18 made of an elastic material through which the cleaning cloth 15 is easily fastenable and removable from the supporting body.
Figure 5 shows a cleaning device according to Figure 1 in exploded illustration. It is shown that the hooks 13 of the hook and loop fastener 12 are made of the same material as and integral with the supporting body 2. The loops 20 which form part of the hook and loop fastener are formed by a fleece which consists of velour or polyamide fabric. The loops 20 are fastened on the side of the supporting body which faces the cleaning body 3.
Figure 6 shows a cleaning device 1, which includes a supporting body 2 to which a cleaning body 3 can be removably fastened. The supporting body 2 is made of an injection molded plastic part and has a peripheral boundary edge 4. The cleaning body 3, which is fixed to the supporting body 2 by a positive connection, extends by at least 1 cm beyond the boundary edge 4 of the supporting body 2. The cleaning body 3 has a longitudinal extent 5 and a transverse extent 6, whereby the longitudinal extent 5 is larger than the transverse extend 6. Furthermore, the cleaning body 3 is hexagonally shaped in this embodiment. The supporting body 2 is provided with a handle 11. The cleaning body is made of an open celled polyurethane foam material and has an abrasive layer 14 on the side facing the surface to be cleaned. For the fastening of the cleaning body 3 to the supporting body 2, the cleaning body 3 has a protrusion 16 which is shaped complementary to a recess 17 in the supporting body 2. The lateral surfaces of the protrusion and of the recess are thereby constructed in dovetail shape.
Figure 7 shows a cleaning body 3 which is suited for fastening in a cleaning device 1 according to Figure 6. The cleaning body 3 has a protrusion 16, the lateral surfaces 20 of which, when viewed in cross-section, are constructed in dovetail shape.
Claims (12)
1. Cleaning device (1), comprising a supporting body (2) to which a cleaning body (3) of hexagonal or lemon-shape in plan view is detachably fastenable, whereby the supporting body (2) has a boundary edge (4), characterized in that the cleaning body (3) extends beyond the boundary edge (4) of the supporting body (2).
2. Cleaning device according to claim 1, characterized in that the cleaning body (3) has a longitudinal extent (5) and a transverse extent (6), whereby the longitudinal extent (5) is larger than the transverse extent (6).
3. Cleaning device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the supporting body (2) is connected with a handle (11).
4. Cleaning device according to claim 3, characterized in that the handle (11) has a length of 30 to 140 cm.
5. Cleaning device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the cleaning body (3) is non-positively and/or positively fastenable to the supporting body (2).
6. Cleaning device according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the cleaning body (3) is fastenable to the supporting body (2) by way of a hook and loop fastener (12).
7. Cleaning device according to claim 6, characterized in that the hooks (13) of the hook and loop fastener (12) are made of the same material and integral with the supporting body (2).
8. Cleaning device according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the cleaning body (3) is made of a foam material.
9. Cleaning device according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the cleaning body (3) has an abrasive layer (14).
10. Cleaning device according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the cleaning body (3) extends at least 1 cm beyond the boundary edge (4) of the supporting body (2).
11. Cleaning device according to any one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that a cleaning cloth (15) is fastenable to the supporting body (2).
12. Cleaning device according to any one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the cleaning body (3) has a protrusion (16) which is constructed essentially complementary to a recess (17) in the supporting body (2).
